  21. It seems that Tony's case of terminal stupidity is contagious.  Jax needs
  22. to be quarentined before it spreads even further.

  24. So let me get this straight:

  26. He plays "both ends against the middle" and starts creating dissention in
  27. the ranks throughout Jason's organization, right?
  28.  
  29. FOR WHAT PURPOSE????
  30.  
  31. As I see it there are only a few possible outcomes.
  32.  
  33. 1.)  Jason's organization collapses into an internal war, in which case the
  34. docks turn into a war zone and the renovation plans get haulted for safety
  35. reasons.
  36.  
  37. 2.)  Jason quashes the situation and then is pissed and even less likely to
  38. cooperate.
  39.  
  40. or 
  41.  
  42. 3.)  Jason loses, someone ELSE comes into power, and then they have to
  43. negotiate the dock situation with an entirely unknown element.
  44.  
  45. I think Mr. Blond baked his brains in the hot Australian Outback a little
  46. too long.
  47.  
  48. And you know, this does remind me that I really DON'T like Jax and I never
  49. have.  I have a problem letting my opinion of the actor influence my opnion
  50. of the character (and I do that with Nolan North/Chris Ramsey, too).  And
  51. at Take a Chance Ingo was such a sweetie, that Jax stopped annoying me
  52. (except with Brenda), but after yesterday I realized that it wasn't Jax I
  53. was liking, it was Ingo.
  54.  
  55. So, that's my declaration of the day:  Scott seems to be trying to give up
  56. his matle of "Bonehead Kingpin" and Jas seems to have taken it over.
  57.  
  58. HOWEVER, despite Jax annoying me to death, Ned/Jason, Justus/Jason and
  59. Justus/Jax rocked.  And I adored Ned's warnings, especially the bit about
  60. Jason being a father now and needing to stick around for Michael's sake.
  61.  
  62. I also thought it was very interesting the way that Jason came right out
  63. and asked Ned if he thought Jax would put a hit out on him, and even then
  64. Ned still couldn't use any truly specific terminology (aside from the fact
  65. that he doesn't REALLY know what Jax is going to do).  He stuck with
  66. euphemisms like "by any means necessary" and "ruthless," etc.
  67.  
  68. I thought it played very nicely into Justus' conversation with Jason, about
  69. living in a world where you know your enemies and people not smiling while
  70. they stick their knife in your back.  Someone may be bad, but they aren't a
  71. hypocrite about it.

  266. doing an AMAZING job with the q's--ALL the q's--lately.  ESPECIALLY 
  267. yesterday!  emily is managing to tread the fine line between righteous 
  268. indignation and teenage brat quite nicely ("those of you in the 
  269. kidnappers' wing"?  LOL!)  aj is finally giving as good as he gets when 
  270. it comes to ned.  and lila, oh my god LILA--when she followed edward's 
  271. lead in bribing that waiter, and warned carly about edward, i was just 
  272. LAUGHING so hard!  i haven't gotten this many laughs out of the q's in a 
  273. long, LONG time.  thank you, guza--i'm LOVING this!!!

  305. involved with i think.  my guess is she suppressed her rape so she thinks that 
  306. is the only way to handle it.  also if lizzie discusses her rape Audrey may have 
  307. to relive her own.

  309. about the rapist.  i think they're going to name tony, but i don't think he did 
  310. it, so they'll absolve him.  only because i don't think tptb want to destroy a 
  311. main character like tony and i don't think they want to rehabilitate another 
  312. rapist, a la luke.  it will probably be someone insignificant and disposable.

  369. I just got off the SOD chat with Michael Logan. For those of you that 
  370. miss him, here's the latest scoops and opinions on GH. 
  371.  
  372. NANCY LEE GRAHN: Loagn confirmed that NLG had a baby girl (I think last 
  373. Tuesday night.) He did tell her name but I don't remember what it was. 
  374.  
  375. [note--someone posted a reply saying she was named Katharine Grace-- 
  376. don't know if it's true or not, but it'd kind of an interesting choice, 
  377. considering!]
  378.  
  379. He mentioned that the baby came two weeks early and Alexis' absence will 
  380. be explained by a trip to Jakarta. 
  381.  
  382. LAURA'S RETURN: He says that Genie is not coming back anytime soon and 
  383. that in his opinion, the SOM article is a PR move on Genie's part. He 
  384. reiterated that she has a contract. He also said she returned to do a 
  385. bit for the show's 35 anniversary special. He said that the show is 
  386. moving on with this story without her.

  388. THE RAPE: He's impressed with this story so far. He didn't want to say 
  389. much more because he's doing a TV Guide article with Tony Geary about 
  390. Lucky finding out about the rape. He says that the scenes between Luke 
  391. and Lucky so far have been great.

  393. TONY JONES: He says that Tony did not commit Lizzie's rape but that he's 
  394. going to be doing some pretty wacko things in the near future. Logan 
  395. said Brad Maule thought his last chance at a great storyline
  396. was BJ's death and when he didn't win the Emmy he was despondent. 
  397. Logan's thrilled with that Brad's got a great story.

  399. THE BEST SHOW ON RIGHT NOW: In his opinion, GH is the best show on ''at 
  400. least this week.'' He says Guza's done a great job at turning the show 
  401. around. Logan says he thinks Robin and Nikolas are a supercouple in the 
  402. making. He says he even likes the Webber twits (because of their work in 
  403. the rape story.) He said Rebecca Herbst has been astounding. He said he 
  404. doesn't like the Mac/Mac story and he hates what is being done to the 
  405. Quartermaines.

  407. EMMY NEWS: Logan predicted that Steve Burton and Sarah Brown would be 
  408. nominated for Emmys. He also noted that Jackie Zeman put herself up for 
  409. Best Actress this year.

  430. important," and given the raw brutality of the attack I can't see them

  469. Well, between Carly and Brenda nearly scratching each other's eyes out, and
  470. Luke and Lucky, I don't think I could choose a favorite part.

  472. Luke and Lucky would probably win in the end, though.

  474. I am continually impressed by the way Jonathon Jackson has been handling
  475. this.  And the fabulous part of those scenes was, OMITTING Luke's dirty
  476. little secret, EVERYTHING he told Lucky was dead-on.  Lizzie needs to be
  477. the one to take control of her life, and Lucky needs to respect her
  478. choices, even if he disagrees with them.
  479.  
  480. The shot of Luke at the end, though, nearly in tears and border-line shock
  481. was incredible...
  482.  
  483. And somebody smack me, but Sarah is slipping from about a 10 on the
  484. "Irritate the Daylights Out of Me" scale to about an 8.5.  I still thinks
  485. he needs acting lessons, but the character is getting less annoying.
  486. Though, Becky Herbst is doing such an incredible job that Jennifer Skye
  487. couldn't compete -- no matter what they had her doing.
  488.  
  489. And NEVER in my life did I think that an almost catfight between Carly and
  490. Brenda would find me rooting for *Carly* of all people.  That was cool.
  491. And the look on Jason's face through most of the little wardrobe excersion
  492. was hysterical.  Several times it looked like Steve was having trouble
  493. keeping a straight face. <g>

  579. my.  Apparently she's decided that Jason is not only not
  580. old enough to make decisions about his own life, but if
  581. he's not going to be with her, he can't have a life period.

  583. Carly today, because she's pushed Carly's buttons in such a

  724. grace does.  could be just because tptb have developed ellen much more 
  725. than they have grace...but that's also probably a pretty good indication 
  726. that those two are the ones who will wind up together.

  782. brenda has become)...but if they DO pair them up again (okay, let's be

  784. mean at least a year down the road.  ideally, after sonny has come back 
  785. for a guest stint, allowing brenda to get some MUCH-needed closure to 
  786. that relationship, which despite her claims of stability, she still

  875. and I can see your point of view.  However, I think that Brenda is a far
  876. better person than she was when she was with Sonny.  She has become a
  877. little more independent, she's getting back on her feet job-wise, and she's
  878. working through her feelings/problems with Sonny.  It's better than the
  879. sniveling, simpering, co-dependent girl she used to be when Sonny had her
  880. under his spell...  Some more work, and she'll be good enough for Jax.  Oh,
  881. and I love it that Brenda has to work to win Jax back! :D

  956. I think the appeal of Sonny and Brenda *is* the fact that they were SO
  957. unhealthy and dysfunctional.  I think at one time or another everyone falls
  958. for someone who is COMPLETELY wrong for them, and it's nice fantasy to see
  959. some other screwed up, against-all-odds couple actually make it.

  961. As for the individual characters... I can't stand either Jax or Brenda
  962. individually.  I *loved* Sonny more than I could say.  And now, I'm
  963. disliking Jax more and more each day with this whole docks/Jason thing.

  965. In the beginning I loved Sonny and Brenda (until she wore the wire).  But
  966. by the time Sonny married Lilly (the only soap character I have EVER truly
  967. hated), they needed to cut the whole thing loose.  But they didn't and we
  968. got that triangle nightmare, and IMO that storyline did irreperable damage
  969. to all three characters.

  978. AMEN!  Carly hit the nail on the head so many times -- a few low-blows to
  979. be sure, but Robin had them coming in a big way.  Jason told her what he
  980. told her because he TRUSTED her and because her feelings are important to
  981. him.  No matter what she thinks of the situation it is not her place to
  982. tell AJ one WORD.  She can harrange Jason from here until the middle of
  983. next century if she wants (though I won't watch it), but SHE has no right
  984. to do it herself.

  995. And Michael doesn't stand a chance in hell of keeping out from under the

  1023. character that I absolutely ADORE into such a sanctimoious and judgemental
  1024. brat.  Carly was right about one thing:  I think Robin is WAY too used to
  1025. being able to tell Jason that he's doing something "wrong" (by her esteemed
  1026. standards) and then having him "follow orders" (to coin Carly's phrase).  I
  1027. think that's what's making Robin so crazy now -- no matter how many times
  1028. she says he should, Jason is still refusing to let the Q's in Michael's life.

  1030. And while I agree, on PRINCIPLE, that AJ should have a right to know his
  1031. son, the fact remains that Keesha hit the nail on the head when she said
  1032. that AJ didn't really want to be the father, he just wanted *something.*
  1033. And I think when you combine all the factors, Jason is much better suited
  1034. to being the father at this point.

  1132. now THAT'S a complex question.  i was a s&b fan from day one--back when 
  1133. they were both decently written and complex characters.  brenda was a 
  1134. spoiled willful brat, sonny was a brooding mobster with dubious morals, 
  1135. and they were great fun to watch.  and they were HOT HOT HOT!

  1137. then, during the whole stone/aids saga, tptb really developed sonny into 
  1138. an AMAZING charater.  i LOVED sonny from the beginning, but this just

  1141. hidden heart of gold?  not likely.  but this IS just a soap!  :)  did i 
  1142. think sonny was good for brenda?  well, i don't think a mobster in 
  1143. general is good for ANYONE in his life--occupational hazards being what 
  1144. they are.  but i did think s&b had something.  they definitely had that 
  1145. spark that made them fun to watch.  but then...

  1155. yes.  that was the beginning of the end, and by the time we were into 
  1156. full s/b/j mode, it was too late to do anything about it.  all THREE 
  1157. characters suffered dreadfully from that one.  i'm one of those rare s&b 
  1158. fans who actually LIKED jax.  he was such fun at the beginning, when he 
  1159. was after lois (not that i wanted him to succeed THERE either...this man 
  1160. REALLY needs to find a woman of his OWN!)  i even (perish the thought!) 
  1161. liked j&b together for a while--during their whole malibu trip and all 
  1162. that.  but what killed it for me was the marriage ultimatum, and then 
  1163. the miranda thing.  he very clearly knew brenda was still in love with 
  1164. sonny, and yet he strongarmed her into marrying him anyway, all the 
  1165. while never telling her that he had a secret first wife dead and buried 
  1166. in the past...that to me is no more of a healthy relationship than what 
  1167. s&b had.
  1168.  
  1169. HOWEVER...even though i no longer wanted j&b together, and really was 
  1170. still rooting for s&b, the reunion was a HUGE disappointment, handled 
  1171. terribly, leading to the ridiculous on-the-run-with-goldilocks 
  1172. storyline, the tiger key mess, and the biggest travesty i've ever 
  1173. witnessed on any television show ever, the wedding-that-wasn't, the 
  1174. write-off of sonny, and the ensuing revision of history to portray sonny 
  1175. as the antichrist and the root of all that is evil in port charles.  
  1176. (which they are STILL doing, by the way!  what was that tirade from 
  1177. brenda yesterday about the only time she was ever happy being when she 
  1178. was with jax?!?  HELLO?  did they WATCH the old tapes???  but i 
  1179. digress...)  i did NOT like the post-reunion s&b relationship, with her 
  1180. tagging along behind sonny like a puppy dog, doing whatever he said 
  1181. without question.  nor did i like the new jax--who was doing basically 
  1182. the same thing to brenda that she was doing to sonny.  and the new 
  1183. sonny--don't get me STARTED on that whole leaving-brenda-at-the-altar 
  1184. thing.  if i could get my hands on richard culliton for just FIVE 
  1185. minutes...but i digress yet again.

  1196. see, now, my point of view on this is that jax was right--it IS too 
  1197. late.  just as, by the time the whole lily/wire mess was over, it was 
  1198. really too late for s&b, it is now WAY too late for j&b.  just as there 
  1199. are EXTREMELY few circumstances under which i would now, after the 
  1200. damage done to sonny's character, be able to accept brenda ever taking 
  1201. him back if he were to return (say, he underwent a forced lobotomy on 
  1202. the way to the church, or was kidnapped and replaced with his evil twin 
  1203. Rainy), i can also not handle JAX taking BRENDA back.  in my eyes, it's 
  1204. extremely close to the same scenario.  and since i'm SURE everyone would 
  1205. agree that brenda would be an idiot to take sonny back--why does 
  1206. everyone think jax should do the same with brenda?

  1241. drunken night, followed by a LOT of bad blood.  aj doesn't want this 
  1242. child because he wants a child--he wants this child to (a) get himself 
  1243. into his family's good graces by producing an heir, and (b) to hurt 
  1244. carly.  he wants to take michael away and "raise" him (boarding school, 
  1245. anyone?) WITHOUT carly, poisoning this child against his mother (who has 
  1246. done a lot of things to deserve that--but NONE of them to her son).  and 
  1247. carly knows that if aj or the q's get their hands on this child, she 
  1248. will NEVER have a chance to be his mother, or to even ever see him 
  1249. again.  i don't deny that a.j. has a legal and moral right to know he 
  1250. has a son--but i don't think this situation is so cut-and-dry.  which is 
  1251. why it makes for GREAT soap story!  :)
