Obviously they aren't a huge independent label.
But Play has been commissioned for each song more so than any other album in
history.
You don't think they are making tons of money off this?
I don't feel that V2 is the small indie struggling label.
They have made tons of money, the album itself wasn't ever promoted well,
it didn't take a lot of money to make the album, and Moby's tour expenses
are minimal as
compared to other artists on majors.
V2 are some rich bastards now, not that they would ever admit it.

On this whole thing about who is using Moby's music. Well if you are going
to sit there and be mad at Moby for allowing his music to be used for a CK
commercial, you cannot stop there. You need to start tracking down every
other company that has used his music and start to see where they have
invested their money. You will see that they invest money in things that
would be deviant to Moby's beliefs. And if that is the criteria for who can
use his music, than he might as well stop writing any more music. Also, if
the money did go to charity as has been mentioned I think that that is
great. this poses a couple of questions in my mind. Maybe V2 was the one
who sold the rights to CK and Moby being disgustipated with CK would not
accept the money so he donated it. Maybe he thought that the good that
could be done with the money made was worth letting CK use his music whether
or not he likes what they do. Or it could be that he just doesn't care. I
like his music. I think his music is some of the most original, artistic,
lovely music of any other musician currently out today. I really do not
care how he runs his life, or what he believes. It is funny to me how
everyone seems to want to hold Moby to a higher standard than those used for
the rest of the people on this planet. Wouldn't it be great if we held our
World leaders to the same standards as those set for Moby? Anyway these are
my thoughts. Like them, hate them, whatever, I don't care.

Yeah but I think he was referring to helping them out by signing with them
initially.
Which could make you think that Moby knew the album was going to be huge, it
was just a matter of getting a label to
distribute it. V2 may of not been making a lot of money before, I mean look
at their catalog of artists.
V2 doesn't put the money back into promotion, I mean how many V2 artists
have you seen advertised a lot.
The album promoted itself, Moby made the album itself...they hit a jackpot.
