BOOBY TRAPPED
"Modest Moby urges young lasses to cover themselves"
Moby deserves a tiara for this one. The tiny bald-headed vegan recently=
instructed a gaggle of bare-breasted fans at the Rolling Rock Town County=
Fair near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to put their shirts back on. The=
preceding band had successfully provoked the femal audience members to=
whip off their tops, much to Moby's chagrin. "I am a heterosexual man=
with an appreciation of the female body," he told the crowd of 30,000.=
"But I am a little disturbed when you have sleazy guys onstage=
encouraging women to get their breasts out." Who were those sleazy guys?=
The men of Pennsylvania's Fuel, who, needless to say, were none too=
pleased by the deejay's chiding.

haha, go Moby! i know it's a little outdated, but hey, it was funny, and i=

Hi, Anne,
I skipped the Aragon show (both days). I actually had
tix to see mobys second show and OMD on the 6th at the
metro. Things didn't work out as I had hoped.
Anyway, just wanted to say that your e-mail about the
concert was great. Very passionate. I felt the
emotion as I was reading it...like I was there.
Thats all.
Cheers!

wow. that was such a beautiful description, anne. i ffel the exact same way
when i see moby. i've been really into him only for about a reay and have
only seen him 3 times, but each time was as spiritual amd powerful and
emotional-- Religious- as what you just described. i feel so connected to
know that there are other people who aren't ashamed to let tears stream down
their face as they rock out or just stand and absorb the beauty that he
creates for us all. (i cried 3 times at this past boston show... during Why
Does My Heart, the accoustic Porcelain, and The Sky is Broken) wow. thank
you for sharing that with us.

Subject: Re: (mobility) NYC show.....Oct.21
oh my..
i'm elie..
i'm also in shock..
moby rocked...
here are some highlights (i hate summarizing)
Hybrid was real real good...although they were making people clap for them,
they had some real positive energy..they used alot of strings and synths and
stuff...a lot of it seemed like progresssive trance..something paul oakenfold
nick warren would put on his cd to dance to...but i enjoyed them a
lot...better than Hardknox...
THEN COMES MOBY:
My Weakness was the opener to the show....let me tell you..the bass was soooo
loud and heavy that it almost made me shit in my pants (joke)...i think the
bass was too much for all the songs, but it was still great...
then came MACHETE, and now i forget the order but here is what i remember:
honey
porcelain
natural blues
why does my heart...
everytime you touch me(acoustic)
ah ah
next is the e
move
go
james bond theme
feeling so real
thousand
porcelain (acoustic)
run on (acoustic)
bodyrock
the sky is broken
everloving
bring back my happiness
he also did a bunch of little medleys with his guitar...he played a surf
song, he played alot of metal with his new special effects on the guitar..
at one point, he brought a kid up onstage (gus was his name) and this kid
rocked on the guitar..he played Paranoid....
Moby joked around alot...threw his shirt into the crowd, introduced everyone,
and overall, entertained the crowd thoroughly...
I was surprised to see the lack of fans waiting for him after the
show...although some asshole security told me he wasn't coming out at all, i
stayed and hung around like a little leach and got to see and try to talk to
him but i was speechless, once again...
Overall, good nite and i cannot wait till tonite again!!! PEACE

Subject: Re: (mobility) NYC show.....Oct.21
Well, I was at the NYC show as well. It was my first Moby concert. I talked
to him a bit afterwards. He seems like such a nice guy, the kind of person I
would be friends with. Aww, and he's soft-spoken and small when he comes out
to meet the fans. Elie, maybe I saw you at the back. I agree that Hybrid was
a lot of fun. Moby's performance was good, and I definitely enjoyed myself. I
was one row of people back from the front, so I had a good view, and Greta
didn't play a single note the whole night through. I was a little
disullisioned by her mimicking the guitar movements, and it made me wonder
exactly how much of it was pre-recorded. Also, at some moments they tried to
make it look like something spontaneous, but it was obvious that the rest of
the band knew what to do right away. Anyway, the music was still beautiful
and he seems like a remarkably kind man.
Just to let some of those who weren't there know about the things he said:
- -He several songs as being "sexy" and at one point said he liked to imagine
the entire audience naked and having sex with each other while the song was
playing.
- -He dedicated a song (I'm pretty sure it was Ah-Ah) to dancing at a rave
until 6 in the morning with "pupils as large as dinner plates" and "being in
love with all the strangers around you"
- -When he took off his shirt before Thousand, he said he was getting fat, and
felt embarrased. Then he tried to puff out his stomach to show how he could
burst the button on his pants.

I say instead of running an orderly and on-topic list, lets instead
celebrate those persons who refuse to follow the norms of courtesy that
society has forced upon them! So what if their hundreds of one line
messages annoy other list members! Its a free country! Lets ALL send one
line messages.
And Topics????? LETS DISCUSS EVERY TOPIC! Why just narrow it down to
moby?
I say from now on if you want to talk about anything - feel free.
You have a captive audience of around 300 members right? Why not use this
opportunity to tell EVERYONE just how sexy you think moby is. I'm quite
sure that everyone is interested!
For those of you who disagree, you can just hit delete right? It shouldn't
be annoying to delete 30 or 40 pointless messages a day. So stop griping.
Let us throw off the chains of listserv oppression! Forget whatever
netiquette you might have learned in the past. Acknowledge democracy and
freedom of speech by aggrivating hundreds of strangers!
