Moby at Red Rocks, what can I say...indescribeable really...
so I will start at the begining :P.
Hybrid: Kicked major ass, but only played for about 45min and played while
people were still coming in. I dug them a lot...want to see more.
Rabbit in the Moon Dj (don't remember name) Dj'ed while they set up for
Rabbit in the Moon.
Rabbit in the Moon: A kick ass show, the music is not my fave, but they know
how to perform...various acts of absurdity (man in rabbit suit, bunny as
samurai, bunny as glowstick man, bunny belt sanding his face, naked women
juggling fire...very enjoyable. Played for about 2 hours or so.
Brian Caldwell (sp?) dj'ed while they set up for Moby.
Moby: Played for about 2.5 hours...playlist really did not differ from other
recent lists, however he did play the Acoustic version of Porcelain and
played Move, I don't believe he played move the last time I saw him. His
energy was incredible as usual, the band was great (that singer lady that
was discussed was good, but yeah, I don't see the necessity for her)...I was
bummed that the percussionist (Scott I believe his name was) the guy that
plays the bongo drums was not there. Moby made comments as well, he talked
about the MTV VMA the night before (some of us booed and he said we should
boo) He said it was a sad state of our society when we have "homophobics"
like Eminem winning awards...he encouraged us to go out and register to vote
and then not vote for George W. Bush...he definetely likes Al
Gore...although he did not say "vote for Al Gore" he said he was a "smart
man". Before he played JBT he said the Movie sucked...I was with a big James
Bond fan so I got a kick out of that...
Anyway...my general perception (at least for those sitting around me) many
people were there to see Rabbit in the Moon...many were sitting down for
MOby...but that could have been the effect of heat, DRUGS, and/or overall
tiredness. Moby was incredible and to see him outdoors with thousands of
other people was amazing. I envy all of you who will get to see him, I am
hoping I can go to another show before the tour is over. I purchased a long
sleeve Moby shirt with his older logo on it, as well as a hybrid shirt and
two stickers, a Little Idiot MOby and then a Moby with two flowers sticking
out of his head (moby drawings)...
If any Mobilities were there I'd be interested to know where you 'sat'. I
was on the right side (if looking down towards stage) about 6-7 rows
up...there were some people I guessed to be around 25 in front of me that
seemed as if they could be members here, they were very very into moby,
moreso then the others and seem to know his live show.
Well seeing moby is what I would call an orgasmic experience of sight and
sound...almost spiritual...I enjoyed myself immensenly and would encourage
everyone to go see him...he is beyond words (my words do no justice).

The following is from the ebay auction:
"I don't think there is much left- he has sold most of it to corporations he
has claimed to despise- that is why MOBY's ETERNAL SOUL is going for such a
low price."
First off, ebay doesn't allow this sort of bidding, the last guy who tried
to sell his soul got his bid taken off because, "he couldn't prove the item
existed". Second, some examples of how he is a sell out would have been
nice.
"If you want to know what it would be like to own it just ask some of these
previous owners: ROVER LTD, DODGE, PHILLIP MORRIS and many other fortune 500
companies..."
Hmmm... This should be considered outright lies? What songs have been used
in any of these company's promotions? What promos has he made appearances
at? His contract specifically states that his songs cannot be used for the
promotion of drugs, guns, alcohol, and tobacco.
"Maybe you can even have it purified and returned to him(this may be too
grand a task) or just keep it until he askes for it back and charge him
plenty. In addition to MOBY's ETERNAL SOUL you will recieve several
photographs of moby with his soul (a very rare item as it has now not with
him) and some copies of his writing and a video tape of moby(again when he
still had his soul). So bid now before another corporation steals it again!
"
This is complete and utter bullshit, no explaination, no support, just a
sensationalist attempt by a small man to get attention.

In response to the set length... is this how long Moby has been playing at=
all the shows recently? I'm curious how long he'll be up there for in=
Seattle.

Greetings all - just got back from the most kick-ass show i've been to =
in a long time......
First off, Hybrid really impressed me, but I've gotta wonder, the =
drummer's arms had to have been sore after playing 45 min solid...
Onto Moby, I thought he'd play the newer stuff, a lot off of Play, but i =
was thrilled to hear "Next is the E" and "Ah-Ah"
Did anyone else get to hear the acoustic version of "Feeling so real?" =
I just started laughing, and the guy next to me (my boss, no less) asked =
what was so funny. I told him to wait for a few and he'd get it. Moby =
played for about 2 hours, with 2 encores and a rousing round of "Happy =
Birthday" led by Greta (the bass goddess) and one of the Road crew guys. =
Very cool - cake and everything. I came out entirely drenched with =
sweat from dancing so hard. A very responsive crowd, and a stellar set =
from Moby.
Only drawbacks i saw were: 1.) No Revolver, and 2.) No Flower. He did =
rip on Tomorrow Never Dies, saying that he was sorry for anyone who paid =
to see it because it was a piece of shit. My boss and I cracked up, not =
because we're Bond fans, but because we work at a movie theater! He =
also made several comments about it being very hot in the room, asking =
permission to play "3 disco songs" and to take a drink of water. =
Despite the heat, though, you just couldn't stand still. The entire =
room was live, especially for Go.
I also noticed that he seems to have gone back to the old logo, with the =
letters all on top of one another. He was on stage in a white ringer =
with the old logo, and all the merch had the old logo (got me a cool =
long-sleeve black and silver logo shirt).
Well, I'm all "Play"ed out (how many more Play puns can I put into this =
message?)
later.

on mtvs 'house of style' he was the #10 fashionable person at the vma's..
although i doubt their credibility in picking stylish people as they put
kid rock as #1. :P
and for all you people seeing his gigs lately: anyone got photos to
share?! even just ones of you meeting him before/after the gig? i want
to see 'em.. 2 days and counting and my turn to see him. i'll be sure to
have plenty of pictures if the paramount staff isn't a bitch and i can

The guys "selling" moby's soul is one of moby's
all-time best friends and collaborators. I'm
guessing either they've had a falling out (not
likely), or that this is a joke that Moby himself
is in on.
