As I mentioned earlier, I am FINALLY going to see Moby live. My tickets
are for NY at the Hammerstien (or maybe stein, I can't remember which)
Ballroom, and I was wondering if anyone else has ever been to a show here.
What's it like? I was curious if it was fairly large, or if it more of a
contained, club atmosphere. Thanks

I'm not sure how many people on this list run or walk, but of those who
do, what Moby songs do you find work best for getting you into a runnning
tempo. I'm just curious....I don't know why, I'm a weirdo. I love trail
running, and the Rob D mix of Porcelain is perfect for sprinting through the
woods. I also like the Drug Fits The Face (Drug-Free Mix) a lot, and his mix
of Big Time Sensuality is really good to get warmed up with. Ok, I'm a dork,
but at least this wasn't a one line post.

I got my tickets today for the show at the Warfield about 4 hours after they went on sale. The front balcony section was already sold out. Wow. I don't want to sit in the balcony or anything, I got floor tix of coarse, I just thought that was rather quick. Well I'm glad I got my tickets when I did.
I'm really glad there's criticism of Moby on this list. It's stupid to just pretend to think that everything an artisit does is perfect. I'm glad we're not just idolizing Moby, that would get a bit boring.
And about crowd surfing and moshing: I love it! I've been in quite a few pits and I've gotten minor injuries but nothing huge. I'm not a very big person either, just a little girl. People are usually very friendly and pick me up when I fall, I've always had good experiences. At my one Moby show, I was in seats, which was hell. I was still dancing around and everything, but it's not as fun. I'd suggest the floor to the person who was asking for recomendations. I don't think Moby fans are particularly violent anyway :)
Woo, yeah, I'm gonna see Moby in about a month and 10 days!

I definetly agree with you. I walk to the majority of places I go in my everyday life. I love to listen to Play while I'm walking. 'cos it's pretty upbeat in the beginning, keeps me going with Bodyrock, Natural Blues, and Machete, and slows down at the end when I'm getting pretty tired. I also love to listen to stupid songs like Hits From the Bong or Insane in the Brain by Cypress Hill while I'm walking. Keeps me in a happy mood.

I think the idea that such a statment is demeaning is completely absurd and
indicative of the inherant insecurity of "guilty" white liberals. The
statement "big-boned soul-chick" is completely objective and quite evocative
of an accurate image. Offense in this can only be derived from automated
