Yeah the same thing happened with me. I was glancing through the Mobility archives and noticed that this happened to a lot of other people too. It apparently doesn't work w/ windows 95 or 98. You could try it on a Mac. That's what I'm going to do eventually. I got mine a while ago and I've basically given up on it. I heard it wasn't all that great anyway.

it depends on the cd-rom drive you have
not the os or the drivers..
I think some really old out of date 2x cdroms only run it :P
