  73. ravey remixes fo "Revolver".

  110. Sounds like one very satisfied customer!  I have always thought that "Best
  111. Of" CD's were just another way to make more money off of the same music.
  112. And who is the person who decides that this is the "Best Of" that artists
  113. material?  I normally try to stay away from "Best Of" types of CD's
  114. eventhough I do have the MobySongs CD and I happen to like it.

  134. it's an 8 hour bus journey to NYC!!!!!!!!!!!  i must be mad going all the 
  135. way over to the states to see him, but after V2000 i won't get to see him 
  136. for ages so i'll have to go to him!!!!!!!!

  154. although i wouldn't complain if moby made his way back to pittsburgh, i'd

  156. invasion tour.  maybe the only thing left is the "cities with weird names" 
  157. tour that was previously suggested here!  :)

  248. Unfortunately its not as clear cut an issue as you make it seem.  When the
  249. pharasies challenged Jesus by stating he was a heretic and not following the
  250. old covenent with God, he said no, "I'm sent here to make them true".  In
  251. otherwords, for christians the old testiment/Torah teachings are just as
  252. valid as the new covenenet set down by Christ, the only difference being
  253. that the new covenenet covers ALL gentiles who are willing to accept Jesus,
  254. not just the jews(note this is christian doctrine, NOT my personal beliefs).
  255. As such the old testiment is just as valid in christianity, thus passages
  256. about sexual promoscuity, especially those specifically refering to
  257. homosexuality between men(Leviticus) still ring "true".  In fact the bible
  258. goes so far as to command followers to put homosexuals to death, it is an
  259. "abomination, their blood is upon them.  ALL sects of christianity, with a
  260. few INDIVIDUAL exceptions recognize homosexual ACTS as sin.  Given the
  261. inconsistencies in christian docterine AND especially source material (ie
  262. the bible), these hate mongers are actually justified in what they are
  263. doing.  Shakespeare once said that the devil himself may quote the bible for
  264. his own ends.  This alone is good enough a reason to reject the christian
  265. religion and its morality.

  435. To state that the bible tells people to kill other people is incorrect.
  436. Maybe you have forgotten all about the TEN COMMANDMENTS?  Thou Shall Not
  437. Kill.  That sounds vaguely familiar.  And if that is not enough then the
  438. bible also states that doing something in the name of God that is contrary
  439. to Man's law is a sin also.  Since murder is against man's law, christians
  440. and everyone else are not allowed to do this, even in God's name if they
  441. wanted to.  Somehow I think people seem to want to forget what I would
  442. believe to be the most important lesson to be learned from the bible.  LOVE
  443. ONE ANOTHER.  Why can't we all just get along.  I am not saying that the
  444. bible is faultless.  But normally I fault the person who takes a passage out
  445. of context to use it to their advantage.  Take Psalm 137 verse 9 "Happy
  446. shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones".
  447. So I could say that the Bible says I can take children and smash them on
  448. rocks.  I guess what I am trying to say is to beware of people who in the
  449. name of God do something that seems very unholy, because most likely they
  450. have missed the meaning of what Jesus in the way he lived his life and the
  451. bible in what it states are trying to tell us.

  453. By the way, I am a Christian, meaning that I believe Jesus to be my savior,
  454. but I do not believe in any one religion.  How can anyone or any church
  455. claim to know the TRUE will of God.  How arrogant does one have to be to
  456. think he knows TRUE will of God.  I live my life as I believe to be right.
  457. But for all I know, I could be wrong.  I try to treat others as I would have
  458. them treat me.

  460. As far as Moby influencing me on Christianity.  I like to hear other
  461. people's view on religion.  I am very curious to see how my views compare to
  462. the views of others.  And maybe if the other person shows the error in my
  463. belief I will change.

  495. not only is it moral and justified to stone
  496. homosexuals, but also to sell your children into
  497. slavery, kill animals for religious purposes, and
  498. immoral to eat shellfish, wear clothing of mixed

  502. No, the accurate translation is that christ came
  503. not to do away with the law, but to FULFILL it.
  504. To give it purpose. As a way of explanation, the
  505. apostle Paul said, that the law has ALWAYS, in
  506. old and new testament times, existed solely to
  507. make us aware of sin which separates us from God.
  508. It's not a case that without the law, there would
  509. be no sin. But as the battle between the spirit
  510. and the flesh can disrupt a person's relationship
  511. to the Creator, these written standards exist to
  512. help us refine that relationship.

  514. As to your specific mention of homosexuality.
  515. Those old testament passages refer most
  516. specifically to forms of pagan worship that
  517. involved the practice of homosexual sex between
  518. heterosexual partners. Not to any form of
  519. homosexual relationship that exists in modern
  520. society. Personally, I don't think homosexuality
  521. is a sin. That may have something to do with me
  522. being gay. But I think most of the Church's
  523. opposition to homosexuality has more to do with
  524. their own hang-ups on sex, and less to do with
  525. proper doctrine. Because of the teachings of
  526. Christ (who never once mentioned homosexuality,
  527. but who did heal the beloved *pais*, or young
  528. servant kept for sexual purposes, of a Roman
  529. Centurion) I know that having a relationship with
  530. a man will not prevent me from being able to
  531. recognize the influence of the Creator in my life
  532. - -- but I also know that seeking out sex without
  533. committment is dangerous physically and
  534. emotionally, and is a selfish act, unconcerned
  535. with meeting my fellow man's need (well maybe one
  536. fellow man).

  538. Too many people see Christianity as a rewards
  539. based system. Be good and you'll get heaven in
  540. the end. Have fun and you'll go to hell. You
  541. don't pass a test to get in... you get in because
  542. you WANT to be there. Conversely, the people in
  543. wind up separated from God, do so because they
  544. choose to be there as well. In his book *The
  545. Great Divorce*, CS Lewis (who is probably the
  546. greatest theologian of the 20th Century) said
  547. that Paradise to a selfish soul would seem
  548. hellish. Simple selflessness as a rule would be
  549. anathema to them. Mansions and jewels and power
  550. are meaningless when the real "reward" is unity
  551. with the Creator and freedom from the troubles of
  552. this world. All of the enduring major religions
  553. of the world, buddhism, hinduism, judaism,
  554. christianity, islam, all have as a basic tenet
  555. that denial of self is the beginning of
  556. spirituality. And that is the major focus of any
