wonderful music people have been near on accussing me of being an n-sync fan
& a teenybopper.  well i'm 26, so the teenybopper charge doesn't stick.  &
even if i were 16 i wouldn't like n-sync, credit me with some taste.  i'm
sick of you lot saying "moby do a william orbit & that will weed out the
teenyboppers", i like william orbit, so wotcha gonna say now?  you don't own
moby.  so get off your high horses.  moby had the honesty to say that he
used to be an uptight prick.  i think it's time you lot done the same.

I saw him at Homelands :-)

It was wicked down at the front. The mud wasn't too bad by then. He was on
too early for most people to realise, so lots missed him ;( And then it
rained! There was a waterfall pouring through the main tent and by the end
of it there was a stream to cross! Moby was interviewed afterwards and was
saying how brilliant it was, despite the weather the British are resiliently
determined to have a good time!

Glastonbury is pronounced "Glaahzbee" (for he benefit of Sara M.) Affect a
rural Westcountry English country bumpkin's accent and you're there! Lets
hear it for the Westcountry Massif!

Tiff from NZ, there is alot of diversity at his concert, but then you knew
that there would be really didn't you. You *will* go bezerkers man! I saw
him at the Forum, London in March and was freaking out at the side of the
front of the stage, and turned round to look at the crowd and the *whole*
place was vibrating! Even the thousand or so people on the balcony were
throwing themselves around, some of them were virtually hanging off. I hope
North Shore Centre(?), Auckland is a good venue for a crowd!

hiya!!!!!

i went to glastonbury festival to see moby last month & he was totally mind
blowing!!!!!  top stuff!!!!!!  anyway, he played the majority of 'play' (
although he didn't play 'everloving' which i love!) & the odd old track.  he
done the james bond theme, go, thousand so a good mix really!!!!!!!!!  so it
promises to be a good gig in nz!!!!!!  i'm gonna see him again next month at
v2000 (another festival here in the uk) can't wait!!!!  he's headliner there
so he'll play longer than he did at glasto!!!!

Just got this 10" a few days back (you should read my posts Paul! :)
It's not orange (but normal black vinyl) and comes in a green sleeve with
a small spaceship on the front upper right corner with the old Moby logo
on it.  The record label only lists "Feeling So Real (Ray Keith Remix)",
the label on the B side is plain black, but the B side in fact contains
"Everytime You Touch Me (NYC Jungle Mix)"

I don't know about Moby, but without any sarcasm at
all, seriously, I am probly the hugest Weird Al fan
here. I think he is essential because MUSIC DOES NOT
HAVE ENOUGH HUMOUR AND POSITIVITY AND HAPPINESS in it,
its too serious, and we need Al to joke things up...
even if it is kinda the same old corny food and TV
joke schtick! It's still funny, in a juvenile kinda
way!

I do have a question for Moby tho. What do you, Moby,
think about They Might Be Giants? I would love to see
Moby break out an accordian and start singing
"Particle Man" at a show. I think Moby was huge into
new wave and stuff in the 80s, and TMBG kinda remotely
fit into the new wave category (altho, ya know,
categories suck). I don't know jsut curious.

Hey, I'm doing a show tomorrow on wpkn.org 89.5 FM in
CT/Long Island, tomorow, Sunday from 10am-2pm, and I'm
gonna play an hour of Orbital at noon. So i'm looking
for rarities to play by them.... this should be fun...

Also, what happened to Thanks 2? and the Thanks
reissue? Thanks (our lill Moby tribute album) was such
a damn good album, its a shame so many people can't
hear it.

Speaking of tribute albums, and little things to piss
elitists with no sense of humour off, it's time for
some Sifl & Olly news! I know there hasn't been any
for a while... But this is GREAT news! The tribute
album to Sifl & Olly is DONE! The songs are all put
together, its 10 seconds shy of 74 minutes, theres a
whole ton of bonus tracks on it, and an advance copy
(no booklet or artwerk) has been given to Liam Lynch
himself (he does a lot of voices, mainly Olly, and
made ALL the puppets, co-wrote most of the songs,
etc.) and he LOVES it! he listens to it while he spins
all 10 plates on his head (various movie projects, new
tv shows, scripts, merchandise, etc... none S&O
related tho) and he says he's convinced that our
covers are the originals, and he did copies of them!
they're that good! and I did 2 tracks on it too (he's
heard me singing! yeeks!)
and anyway the artwerk should be done soon, so i'll
get a copy then i'll play it to death on WPKN!

I have just recently returned from a four day excursion and I am leaving for
one tomorrow morning for a week, and I received 97, yes 97 emails all from
mobility.  Maybe for some of you that's not a great amount but for me its a
mother load.  I am not complaining at all in fact I think its great that so
many people love his music.  So I guess now I will reflect on all of the
occurrences that has gone on, if I step on any toes I am sorry and don't take
it personally.

this teeney bopper stuff is amusing to me and as I have  read some other,
people but i can also see how it can get annoying, but is that not the reason
for headers of mail, if you do not like what you see delete.  i have been on
this list for a few months now, but i have been a fan since he first released
everything is wrong.  i will admit that i don't know everything about him or
much at all, but I do sincerely love his music.

Moby at an imax...extremely awesome!

And for the subject of a new list.  Personally I think this list will do just
fine. As long as people read the headings.  and if you want pure info on
concerts and his music I think I saw someone post a moby digest. Maybe IM
wrong, I don't know but IM gonna stick with this list because it keeps me
entertained and I also get to find info on my favorite...musician/composer.

There is much more I would like to reflect on but I will do so at a later
date.

he's finished touring, what "direction"  do you think Mob will take on his
next album? I dont know if "direction" is the right term to use. I know Moby
said A/R was a very self-indulgent album,  might be nice to see him
"indulge" again, maybe he could suprise us all.....  do a country album!

I was just at Barnes and Nobles picking up something when I decided to see if
they had the Q issue..  They did and since it was $7.50 I decided to pass on it
(I love Moby and everything but $7.50 for a magazine? C'mon!), but I did browse
it and I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what it is the PhotoShop lackies
airbrushed off of the front of his shirt on the cover pic.  In the picture in
the Table of Contents, Mobes has the same arrowed purple shirt on, but "???
American" (or something like that) is written beneath it.  Anyone know?

Last night I was pumping Play through the stereo here at home and my mom was
"resting her eyes" on the couch.  She didn't say anything about the music then
but today she told me that it was the saddest music ever, that it was very
heart wrenching.  I asked her if she meant the instrumental or the looped
tracks, and she said the instrumentals.  I thought it was cool how the
compositions had an effect on her like that, even though she was dozing off to
sleep.  I wouldn't call the tracks "sad" but they are definitely incredibly
emotional and compelling.  I put on the Little Idiot disc after Play, but for
some reason it doesn't sound nearly as good on a big stereo as it did on a
small one in my flat in the UK.

Last week my father stopped by Saturday morning and as he usually does
started working out in the yard (I can't explain it, he comes over and
feels the need to help around the house). Anyways, I was working inside the
house cleaning, doing dishes etc. so I thought I'd try a little test and
pulled out "Play" and put it on the boombox in the kitchen. I only
programmed the mellower tracks, stuff like "Porcelain", WDMHFSB,
"Everloving", "Natural Blues", "My Weakness" etc. So all these beautiful
sounds are emanating out the window into the backyard.

Sure enough, after about the fifth track in comes dad, going to the
boombox, picking up the jewel case to see what I was listening to. "Who is
this? Moby? Is the whole CD like this, the beats are great and the melody
is beautiful, I like this".

HAHAHAHA, I had accomplished my mission. I had gotten this 51 year old man
who last week was bragging about the 3 new Paul Anka CD's he had bought and
what a prolific musical genius Paul Anka was to get pulled into Moby's
music. I warned him not all his music is like this but I knew it would
work. Too funny, I like pulling stuff like that on people with the music I
love.
