Hello Mobility people... I'm not sure if it's because nobody has anything to say, or if you guys are anti-newbie, but I urgently need opinions on Moby... Specifically, I want to know how his spiritual and lifestyle beliefs influence his songwriting, if at all. I know that the liner notes in Play say that they are supposed to be separate, but this would really help me out if I could be told more about this. I'm hoping someone can answer... Currently I am working on setting up a Napster server, which I would be glad to devote to Mobility. Also, using Napigator you can intentionally select any server you want. However, most of the music I have on Napster I either already own the CD, or would never buy it Napster or not, either because I only like one track on it or because I am just too poor. I would feel really bad if I started swapping one artist's work wholesale. Actually I know I would buy the albums anyway, but I'm not the only one using the service. Here is a little testimonial.. I don't consider Moby an idol... Moby is human and capable of making mistakes... An idol is something larger than life (Christ and so forth) But Moby's, through his music, has the ability to touch the hearts of people and even change their behaviors... I work at a homeless shelter.. Some of the men and women I work with at the shelter are mental patients and are very unstable and at times suicidal... And still, they force Ozzy Osbourne songs in their heads and others who don't exactly send out a positive message... I'm attempting to implement Moby's music to their everyday schedule... Because I think that Moby's music has the ability to change moods, like I said, to relax, the clear the mind and to look at the environment in a different way... That's influence right there and if this means that Moby will be mainstream and pop, then it's for humankind's interests.... Today on 3FM, you could win a meet & greet with Moby in a helicopter during Pinkpop when he will be in the Netherlands by answering the question where the name "Moby" came from (duh!), unfortunately I didn't hear the question when it was being asked, and so someone else, who even needed help answering the question right, won... grrr :) Oh well, I'm not to fond of great heights anyway... Moby will be the closing act on Pinkpop 2000. Yeah, but we collectors have this strange habit of wanting the whole version of a remix, I myself have all 16 OFFICIAL full Go mixes, 15 on their original CD single/album and the Voodoo Child Mix on 12" because it never appeared on CD (except on the Go megamix CD, of course...) I sure hope CDnow is right and that the 6-track Go CD gets re-issued, but then again they also list that Moby Greatest Hits CD of which I'm pretty sure is some sort of bootleg, eBay gets flooded with these kind of Moby CD's that really look professional since the last couple of months.
