I think the point was "Lighten up!" The comment about being on the list for
a long time was not intended as any silly elitism, but more as a "Don't show
up and tell us where to put the furniture, we live here!" Anyways, we just
don't react sensibly to barbarian tribes that charge in brandishing pointy
sticks. Can't expect us to.
I read on sonicnet that Moby has a new song called "Flower" that will be on
the soundtrack for an upcoming movie called Gone In 60 Seconds. It was
recorded between shows during the Campus Invasion tour, and it features
Lomax recordings like Honey, Find My Baby, Natural Blues, etc.

Een heel hartelijk welkom op deze mailing list!
It's nice to have some fellow Dutch members on the list :)

Very well put! It surprises me (in a very pleasant way!) there are girls
from
the Netherlands who actually like stuff that's not BSB N'Sync or any crap
only produced to make money. Or do I just talk to the wrong girls? :)

Yeah, that's good stuff, here are some suggestions of other great
groups/artists:
The Aloof, Pink Floyd, Angelo Badelamenti/Julee Cruise, Faithless, Air...
Moby will be playing on the Drum Rhythm festival tonight (guess who's going
to
record it :) bye now, I'm off to get my MiniDisc deck set up for the
recording...

talking of Moby, duh, what else do I have to talk about?, me notived
that the new single by the band Len is a poor rip off of Bodyrock, or
whatever Bodyrock is Sampled from.
Alos, swouldn't it be good if moby did another live EP, AR LIVE is
f*cking wonderful, so, like, what about some of the Play things such as
Bodyrock put onto a live CD, Moby may be wonderful recorded, but live,
wow, the ,live version of bodyrock was wonderful.

This soundtrack is going to kick some serious ass then... BT's "Never Going

scoring for the movie... Now I can't wait to see what else is going to be on

It's not very relevant but there was a Moby contest going on a website called
spray.fr and i won 2 places for the concert on Tuesday. I had already taken
my place but it looks like i'm going to be paid to see Moby as it's soldout :)
I've seen 2 times during the past 6 months but never had the chance to talk
to him or to have an autograph, hope it'll be this time.
Oh and if someone could tell me where has gone the ftp site cause i collect
Moby items (BTW thanks again Bart :) ) but i can't afford to collect Moby
remixes so this would be a good way to hear them.
From what i heard, Flower seems to be "the 19th track of Play" (or maybe the
20th if we consider that Flying Foxes could have made it) Can't wait for it :)

With Bt and Moby on the cd, it just became worth
buying rather than finding the cut on Napster.

Many people on this list seem to love bt and I never totally got into his
music but I'd have to say "Movement In Still Life" is a great CD. Potential
to be the next 'Moby' in terms of popularity because of the different styles
of music he has on there (he's got Fatboy Slim sounding tracks, tracks with
female vocals [which I usually hate, these are borderline Euro-dance stuff
but VERY well done], a rap song, and even a ballad that I think he sings).

Yes, everyone who knows moby should know who BT is. ie.. Brian Transeau,
he's up there with moby on the musical electronica level.. Beautiful stuff.
His new album, which will have it's official US release on JUNE 6 is a
exploration of break beat and alternative... If you have seen the movie GO,
he did the scoring and his song Believer was playing during the rave scene.
His first album, Ima is considered the trance trendsetter, and ESCM is
beautiful stuff too (my favorite).... Great great stuff and I highly
recommend.

Subject: (mobility) Porcelain is "Modern" "Rock"; at tha library...
hey folks chillin st the library gettin ready for the
4th CBF,
i read the latest Billboard and hooray, Porcelain is
28 on the "Modern" "Rock" charts! yyyyayyyy!!!! its
been on for 3 weeks now and is going nowhere but up!
as in, "With a bullet"!
also, the library im at (Stratford) has gotten a
shitload of new cds (and old ones, especially) and
theres some great stuff here! Pixies! Eno! Dead!
Beck!! Sonic Youth!!! Beasties!!! a lot of it is
checked out, but im gonna place mad requests. yay!
but the greatest thing is all the old punk shit here!
Ramones! Sex Pistols! Modern Lovers even (some of
their stuff with the organ thing kinda reminds me of
'Lab, becuase of the VU influence i think)! and best
of all, Mission Of Burma "Signals Calls And
Marches"!!! and guess which song is on that one?
amazingly, TWIRFMR isnt even the best song on it, its
probly the worst. all the other songs are way better.
Mobys version is just so much better, i think. not
that M.O.B.'s is bad, but it just doesnt sound
as...um, polished as the Moby version. i guess saying
this would kinda go against everything lofi/indie/DIY,
but one of the things i like about AR is how clean it
sounds, i mean with techno music theres such high
production standards, and when you apply that to punk
rock it just has this golden sheeen thing. or
something.
well anyway i must go and talk to Ann K (new cd buyer
person) to tell her to buy some Moby cds for the
library! and i should probly get ready for my Blur
hour tonite...
oh also, i found another silly Noid tidbit. some guy
named Kenneth Noid held up a Dominos in the 80s
becuase they thought the "Avoid the Noid" thing was
directed against him. he didnt steal any money, he
just stood there eating Crazy Bread, with a gun at the
cashiers head for 5 hours. or something. classic News
Of The Weird. wouldnt it be funny if his middle name
was "Perry"?
would this message be by me if i didnt include a ton
of mindless meaningless offtopic drivel at the end?
just a question,
ROCK!
