Thanks for the report, Justin.
Your comment about "Play" songs not being things concert goers would get into
made me wonder.. I knew "Play" before seeing Mobes at a club in Brighton, so I
enjoyed the songs a lot, even though the crowd was dead. (Moby asked if we were
deaf.) He played some stuff I didn't know, which, of course, I tried to get
into, but it was kinda difficult. By the time I saw him again in Leeds, I knew
his set list and all of the songs, and the crowd was much more into it, so the
show was even better. But I digress. I can't really say that doing "Play"
would be a bad move. It's basically what got him booked, and other than some
old favorites like "Go," then a lot of the kids there probably wouldn't even
know some of his older stuff. I think a lot of the "Play" songs are excellent
festival material.. especially "Honey."
On a side note, I lent out my "Everything is Wrong" CD to a friend of mine and
finally got back the other day. He said that it was kind of funny, because it
was very early 90s and "rave-y." Considering I was about 13 in the early 90s
in a small island resort town, I never really noticed that about the album, but
I was glad to have it back.. and can't help but imagine a club full of sweaty,
celebrating, diverse people dancing to Feeling So Real. Shouting "PLUR,"
probably. Heh heh.

Subject: (mobility) Another oopsie (Superfunk's Natural Blues remix) ?
I was looking around at a horrible fair searching something that i could like
in all this s**** when i found a press cover or whatever for Moby Natural
Blues. The guy having it offered it to me since i bought a nice cd (Alex
Gopher - You, My Baby and I) and as i was heading home i read it and so a
astonishing thing:
"Natural Blues (Remixed by Superfunk) : No1. Club Hit, Sent to radios on the
9/02, available on the second maxi"
As we all know it's not on the maxi but be sure that i'll do my best to get
one if one was sent to radios. We never know as Moby and Superfunk are both
released by Labels in France.....
But maybe "somebody made an[other] oopsie." as steve would say :)

Subject: (mobility) Porcelain CDMute252 Review
Here comes the review for the cd1 of Porcelain, the violet single with "the
earth projected on a cracked egg" as Bart said. Unlike the mixes, you won't
have the bsides online cause i can't put them on the web but you don't miss
much. Here's why the review:
1. Porcelain - Single Version (3:29)
The album version is much better. They skip the instrumental intro, the "hey"
part comes too early. Seriously, are they always forced to make radio edits ?
I mean Porcelain lasts 4 minutes, not 8 it's not like Underworld's Born
Slippy or Jamiroquai's Blow your mind (those that i have in mind now :) ),
the instrumental part is not too long and things going on the radio do not
always last 3 minutes. But they made it so nothing to do.
2. Flying over the dateline (4:45)
Also known as Micronesia Part II. Same instruments but other song in the same
mood. Moby flies over the dateline but his b-sides look the same and i'm
getting fed up with that. Always this ambient instrumental stuff with piano,
synths.... It's nice once, twice but then you change the disc. What is highly
enjoyable with Moby's regular Cds is that the track you're listening to is
quite different from the previous one (Rushing - Bodyrock, Natural Blues -
Machete...). But if all these bsides were to be on a cd, i would get bored
after two or three times.
3. Summer (5:55)
Also known as Spirit Part II though the piano part is more repetitive and
more summer style. As the other one it's just another Play bside. Maybe Moby
is doing an exercice of style and try to not be eclectic at least once :)
Honestly these bsides are not bad (much better than Princess for example but
at least with Princess it was something else) but they're just "banal",
common.
I would have so much like to get a danceable bside but it won't be this time.
I'll just have to wait for next week in order to dance on Moby music with his
concert :)
Finally I won't say : Do not buy the cd cause you will but don't think it's
the ultimate one, it's just a filler.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE DOMINO'S PIZZA NOYD????
sorry, but i've been on this dumb "Noyd" thing all
day. its just been running thru my mind. i searched
"avoid the noyd" on several metasearch engines and
came up blank! and only a few even mention "noyd" at
all (mostly for the rapper "Big Noyd" of Mobb Deep
fame...)
i found a hilarious "whatever happened to" page
mentioning Noyd tho.
ok bye bye!
ROCK!
Don't avoid the noyd!

I thought the radio edit was well done, it has all the Porcelain ingredients
stuffed
into 3:07 mins. So I see there are 3 not too different versions of Prcln
now!:
- - 4:01 Porcelain (Album version)
- - 3:29 Porcelain (Radio version)
- - 3:07 Porcelain (Radio edit)
Kinda like with Run On, this track had about 4 slightly different versions
(the 2
different versions of Run On Extended included)

If it's anything like Micronesia (one of my favorite b-sides) it has to be
good!

I'm starting to feel this way too... Moby get your ass out off that tour bus
and
into your studio! (he he, just kidding there :) but seriously, the b-sides
aren't
that original any more, they all start to center around one particular
sound...

i just got a second copy of the limited Come On Baby single in the rubber
case in the mail today and have a question..were two different version of
the packaging made? cause the copy i got from mute has the rubber sleeve
and on the front "Moby" and "Come On Baby" are written in orange and there's
an orange and black rectangular sticker that says "Strictly limited 2 CD
pack a special price New Tracks + live tracks and mixes - all exclusive".
on the original copy i had from a couple years ago, the letters aren't
orange. instead, they're sunk in like the moby logo on the front and the
drawing on the back and there is a a big round orange sticker on the front
that just says "Moby Come On Baby CDMute200". i'm just curious as to why the
packaging may be different for both copies...
