As far as I know he had a public-school education and spent some time at
SUNY-Purchase studying philosophy.

Hello all, been on the list for a while now but never really post much,
anyway just felt an urge to respond to this post...
Moby could do a McDonalds ad and I'd love him even more, I think
it would be the funniest thing in the world. I eat meat and if one of my
eat meating friends went Vegitarian on me, or even worse, Vegan I wouldn't
have a heart attack (no pun intended :), alas it seems if Moby even eyes
a hamburger then ever friggin meat hating person gets all over his case. Who
needs that kind of pressure, let him do his things and you your own.
If he does a CK ad (I mean c'mon does anyone really even give a rat's ass about
CK ?)
and if it steams you that much then you never liked the man's music as much as
you
thought anyway.
I would love to see him bite now on a Big Mac, look at the camera and say
"MMMmmm, now THATs the best burger I've had in years!"
He's just a man, he's going to do things he wants to do and I don't feel he
should justify it to anyone else but himself. Maybe he's friends with Mr.Klein,
maybe he wanted to help him out when Calvin asked Moby if he'd be in an ad.
(i think i recall him mentioning this in some online chat thing, it may not be
acturate but he did mention why he did the CK ad).
Why don't we blast him for going to the Grammy's or doing a James Bond Theme
song,
or dozens of other movie songs, let's blast him for going on MTV, VH1s the list,
using his
songs in commercials. Giving interviews in SPIN or rolling stone or whatever???
I mean give him a break, enjoy him for his music first and if you're lucky
you'll like his side
actions as well. Prime example is the Rolling Stones, I respect them and enjoy
their music
(not a big fan, its just an example), but I hate the fact they charge so much
for tickets and
leech millions of dollars off of their fans...not going to change the way I feel
about their
music though.
also if you wanna burn Mobys CDs, I'll take em :)

we don't know moby. seriously. it hit me kind of hard
once too because everything is wrong really changed my
life. i love moby's essays and music with a passion.
reading what he had to say made me realize that i
wasn't the only person who felt this way about
veganism, social justice, etc.. but i've heard stories
from my friends who have actually worked with moby
and how he sent explicit uninvited emails to a
seventeen year old girl. honestly he does seem a
little friendly with younger girls at concerts. and he
made a porn movie, i mean how much more degrading can
you get? but wheather this is all true or not i just
see moby as a normal guy. i could wrie idealistic
essays too, but it doesn't mean that i'm going to live
them out. i think every role model i have ever had has
let me down, but that's just because they are human,
they have faults. personally when i saw the ck adds i
just thought it was shitty photography and a really
unimaginative way to picture such an interesting
person. i think it's cool that the money went to
charity, but i agree that it sucks. i hate all those
companies. i think moby is making enough money off
play that he can afford to give his own money away not
dirty CK money... and i hate how moby has become pop,
and he has because about half of the email titles hav
the word mtv in them and i just have to delete them
cause it makes me sick... ok.. i'm done...
