Subject: (mobility) Moby at GMU
HI everyone. Just got back from the show at GMU last nite a little while ago.
I had to drive 4 hours there and 4 hours back right after the show, but it
was well worth it. The show itself was pretty good, but like everyone else
has said, it just wasnt the right environment for a moby concert. I was able
to get really close to the stage, unfortunately about 99% of the people there
were annoying-ass high school Bush fans. Most had never even heard of Moby
and half of them were drunk off their asses. Some of them started chanting
shit like "We want Bush" while Moby was fucking in the middle of a song, so i
snapped and went off on them. Started yelling rather nasty stuff like "FUCK
BUSH" and "GAVIN SUCKS DICK." They didnt take too kindly to that. Anyways, i
left after 1 bush song and went down to the bus ramp to see if i could find
Moby and he was just walking away when i got there. So I started yelling
"Moby, Moby I have your shoes!" (by the way, i was the guy who bought his
'Play' shoes from Paul Yates off of eBay) so moby turns around and we begin
to talk about it and he tells me to go get the shoes and he will sign them.
He then tells me the story that he bought the shoes in 1996 when he went
shopping with his girlfriend and she insisted that he buy those shoes. There
were only about 4 or 5 of us talking to him, everyone else was still insid
listening to Bush. One girl there got him to be her voice mail message on her
cell phone. :) We talked a little more and he mentioned 'The Simpsons' and he
said that he saw that episode without knowing 'Drop a Beat' was going to be
on there and said that it was one of the highlights of his career. He looked
like he was getting cold after awhile so i dismissed myself and gave him a
hug goodbye. He also mentioned that after the campus invasion tour, he would
go back to europe, japan, and australia for awhile but would be back in the
US in august or september to do some more shows. As always, Moby was one hell
of a guy, very easy to talk to.
Love, peace, & grease,
Danny

Subject: (mobility) Moby on the Sci-Fi Channel??
Anyone heard about this? I was just gettin ready to turn in for the
nite, when i was channel surfing and saw this cool commercial on the sci-fi
channel. It was a commercial for some show featuring Moby! I only caught
the tail end of it, and Moby was in this odd computer generated scene,
spinning records! I've checked the sci-fi page and it doesn't have anything.
Has anyone heard about this, and know when it will air, and what it's all
about? Thanks much

actually, we just had a teeny little discussion about this a bit ago, but
it was so small it probably passed you by. anyway... it's not a show
featuring Moby, but it's actually a promo ad for the Sci-Fi channel that
Moby filmed. saying "i am sci-fi" and such... it's very cute. still
haven't caught it on tape... anyone convince anyplace to archive it yet??

Was I just seeing things or was Moby on a commercial for sonicnet.com? I mean him actually, not his music. It was during Rock and Roll Jeopardy (I love that show) and there was also someone like Sisqo or Usher in the commercial. Has anyone else seen this?

Subject: (mobility) thanks!/MOBY liscence plate?
first off, i just listened to THANKS! our own Moby
remix cd that we briefly put out a few yrs ago and
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNNNN it sounds crescent fresh.
brilliant even. wow, god damn. it still blows my mind.
too bad only like 50 copies were made or something,
this is just obscene how awesome this is. we should
really like make more copies or something. we were
talking about it before, back when RYU was still here
(listened to all my Ryu/SHO cds too recently ;), but
we havent done anything. whatever happened to Thanks
2? and the reissue of Thanks? we really need to get
this in ship-shape. in the meantime, the S&O tribute
cd is still being in the process of mastery, or
something. MP3 files have been made and posted
somewheres, but i forgot where. that means I'm on MP3!
how amazing. my crappy maulings of "Cindy's The
Hostess" and "Crescent Fresh Season 2wo Song from
Calls From The Public" are now highly bootlegged and
stuff ;)
right, i was talking to Tom at WPKN about all these
Moby dreams u guys have been having ;) and he said
that he saw a car that had a MOBY liscense plate (or
so he thought) aand there was a bald guy in it... but
well um i know Moby doesnt drive, or so i thought, but
hey who knows?
anybody have or seen a MOBY liscense plate? or for
that matter a KLF lisence plate, or a SIFL or OLLY
liscence plate ;)? ah whatever. ok bye!!!!
