Subject: (mobility) moby dream
Hello everyone. Last night I had a bad dream with Moby in it. Thought I'd post it so here it is:
I was at a Moby concert late at night, which was in a grassy field in the middle of nowhere. The audience was surrounding a tall, steep hill that Moby was on top of. It was just him and a keyboard and I believe he was playing Feeling So Real, I'm not sure though, that's just how I remember it. Anyway, the audience was just sitting there not dancing or anything. It started to rain and lightning bolt came down and struck Moby. There were sparks and everything, I don't really remember what happened right after that. Later on though, I was in a bookstore reading NME, and they had news that Moby had died that night.
I woke up all depressed but then I realized it was a dream and put on Play to make me feel better.

Subject: (mobility) Moby dished at sushi joint
You'll find the following tale at my Web site,
<http://www.electricseed.com/joeclark>. It concerns a certain local
sushi bar.
And nearby at the counter one espied an early-40s guy in a teal mock
turtle with his "friend," a woman of a certain age with expensive
layered clothing in subtly-varied shades of taupe, khaki, and gold,
fashionably-cut dyed hair, and full-on Sylvia eyeglasses. I hear him
utter the word Moby.
- - Yeah. I've gotta get Moby. All the guys in the office, my friend,
in his office, the 20-year-old guys, they're all listening to Moby
Play!
- - Yeah, I gotta get it next time I'm at HMV.
- - I'm thinking I should get it for dow I'm in Fort Lauderdale.
- - For that and Santana, I'm trying to get my CD burner to work, but
it takes 98 not 95 -
- - You got your burner?
- - Mm, but it only works with Windows 98 or NT, and I've got 95, but
I'm upgrading my laptop and it's supposed to work with the USB.
- - Mm.
- - And I can burn it in -
- - Does it take as long to burn a CD as to, like, listen to it?
- - Well, almost. Like, you take Santana. Not every song is good,
right? so you can just drop the two you don't like and it makes it
faster.
- - And he's a white guy! He's white!
- - I know.
- - He's everywhere. On every commercial. Like, on Sex and the City,
which I'll be watching later -
- - Great show.
- - there's this Kahlua ad, and the music sounds like backward music,
and it's Moby!
We then endured a dissertation on the incredible! infrastructure
Japanese teppanyaki restaurants boast at every table ("a gas line and
a fire line [sic] and water and sewage - and that's at every single
table"-- or so his friend, "a straight guy," in the restaurant
industry tells him).
So I cruelly mocked the man to the talkative chick, who goes "I
didn't know a lot of men watched Sex and the City." "Well, he's not
exactly the butchest tool in the shed." Pause. "And I imagine most of
the guys who watch Sex and the City are watching it for the hair and
makeup." "On the women?" "Well, there aren't a whole lot of men on
that program. Except for Chris Noth, and Carrie's nebbishy gay
friend."

oh my gosh! you're kidding? what an extreme coincidence... i had a bad
moby dream last night too. i dreamt he died in a plane crash, but i kept
wandering around reading things hoping he would be brought back to life.
it was terribly sad and i was crying very hard in my dream -- they had
stories about him on the news saying stuff like "we can only wonder what
kind of music he would have continued to make", etc. it was *awful*...

this is getting spooky. A couple of weeks ago, i had a dream that moby was
coming to town, and i was driving to the airport to see him or something and
a plane crashed right in front of me. so i went to the airport and there was
moby out of another plane and i went up to him and told him a plane had just
crashed and i was going to look for survivors, so he went with me. then i
woke up. i think mobster should stay away from planes.

Ok....I'll join in...My dream was that Moby was in concert in this huge
vacant building that had really tacky carpet on the floor....I could see him
way off in the distance up on a raised stage in the middle of the building.
And hardly NO one was around the stage..He was setting up. I see him and yell
hey..it's Mobyyyy!! I say this....to my mom that just so happens to be
attending the concert with me!! uh huh...I go running towards the stage but
realize my mom can't keep up so I sort of leave her trailing behind me.(bad
me) The thing that makes this sort of funny is...first of all taking a mom to
a concert may seem a bit odd..but even more so because my mom is 63 and I'm
41. Anyways thats all I recall of the dream...me leavin my mom in the dust.
In reality....I am taking my girls to see Moby. I've seen him once in a small
club which was ideal..this time its with Bush which will be different..but I
plan on giving him our support since from what I hear the majority of the
crowd is there for Bush. I hope to see him in the UK sometime when I am over
there.
PS... is it just me or....does everyone feel like hanging out and having
dinner with Moby?
Ok...so this is goodbye....Cheri

Subject: (mobility) moby at mason
hey everyone
i just got back from seeing moby at my college, george mason u. we had some
pretty good seats and moby was wonderful and energetic as always: he opened
with my weakness, and played for about an hour--feeling so real, why does my
heart feel so bad, porcelin, honey, ah-ah, james bond, go and others, i just
don't remember what. it was kind of odd, during james bond he seemed to be
singing the lyrics to what love. at the end of each song he would say 'thank
you, thank you, thank you!' i have to say, this was not the best show i
have ever seen by him...the venue (a basketball arena) and the whole
attitude of the audience (little high school bush fans), it just was't the
best environment to hear moby...the sound was really distorted at times,
esp. during porcelin; the whole place just didn't do him justice. however,
my friend who came with me, who had never seen moby perform before, was
completely blown away by his performance...now i'm extra eager for moby to
do his own tour, so that she can experience his music in a smaller venue,
like the 9:30 Club, which is really the best type of place to see him...
once again, i missed the opportunity to meet moby...we didn't stick around
for bush, and my friend had to catch the bus home...i walked back to the
patriot center later on, but he had already left. i guess tonight was just
not the night i was meant to meet him...just have to keep patient, i
guess...
