Yes, but is it different than the "Alone" version on the CD single "Bring

The availablilty of Thanks 1 is VERY up in the air I am guessing now that
Eric is going to be doing Thanks 2 for us. (THANKS ERIC!) I don't know if
all the Thanks1 stuff got sent to Eric along with the Thanks 2 stuff.
(ERIC? enlighten us?) As for getting Thanks 2, you will have to wait until
it is finished. As unbelieveable as it may be, that CD is STILL not done.
Like I said above, Eric Goldberg is now at the controls for this CD (taking
over for the ever disappearing Greg and his lack of time/effort). If you
have any questions about Thanks 2, send them his way. He posts often enough
that you should be able to snag his email address.

Hmm, perhaps some dub music, that would be cool. I would really like to
see another dance album with some ambient tracks, but I think the chances
Moby gets back to that stuff again are really small... Moby luckily hasn't
totally
abandoned dance music judging from the b-sides Arp and Sunday, but a whole
album of this..neh. Another punk album would be nice too...
But seriously, we're talking about something that will happen 2 or 3 years
from
now or so. To make new stuff he'll have to stop touring and that will be in
October
or so, then there's probably Play Mixed/Remixed...

This sounds like Bengaboys or Aqua, which are "too high on sugar" for me,
but surely some poppy tunes a la Southside would be cool.

i remember in some interview lately he'd mentioned wanting to do something
like an mtv unplugged, that he'd already figgured out a couple dozen of
his songs for orchestration. i'm paraphrasing off of memory. i could be
wrong, it could of just been something in a dream, but i'm pretty sure i
saw or heard this somewhere. not a solid plan, just a concept he had. i'd
dig it if it happened. i think he'd also mentioned an album of ballads or
something? damn, i should figgure out what interview this was... something
posted to the list maybe? hm...
keep moving,

yeah folks i know im supposed to be in Phoenix now....
damn flight got cancelled. were goin sunday.
anyway, last nite i had a dream that Moby did a DJ mix
cd! he did it under a silly pseudonym, like "Richard H
Oldskool" or something. the first song was by KLF
(actually the JAMMS)! lots of techno type stuff that
ive never heard of (altho i think Moby would probly
not have a mix of lots of anonymous stuff, like most
mix cds tend to do) and lots of hip hop too. there was
no actual Moby songs, altho one song did feature the
"Natural Blues" vocals synched up with a completely
unrelated track (not even like a remix)...... but the
weird thing was, it wasnt even chopped up or
anything.... okay see you know obviously on the album
version at least, the vocals are a little chopped up,
just to make it fit on the beat? well in my dream, it
wasnt like that at all, it was just the song being
played straight thru, you couldnt hear any chopping up
AT ALL, and even weirder, there were extra lines in
the song! like the verse went like this:
went down the hill other day
(some other line i cant remember)
soul got happy and stayed all day
(some other line i cant remember)
but there were like whole other lines in the song, and
it soundedd weird. and the techno track in the
background just happened to match it, beatwise. this
would probly be impossible, cuz the original was
probly a capella, no accompaniment, nothing to keep a
solid beat, and thats why Moby had to chop it up,
obviously. but that was just weird. and nice.
anybody actually heard the original, "Trouble So Hard"
by Vera Hall, I believe? that would be REALLY WEIRD if
there were extra lines and junk in it. too bad i cant
remember what the extra verses were. its hard to
remember dreams ;)
before i go, i just wanna mention that theres an
article about Flat Eric in the new SPIN! ROCK!
bye!

Subject: (mobility) Moby chrome for Mozilla
I have a quick suggestion for any Moby fan with both artistic and
technical aptitude. It would honor and promote Moby, and would be
a neato spifferific endeavor besides. :)
Mozilla, an open source web browser on which the next generation
of Netscape will be based, is in an advanced stage of development.
Though it still has a few months to go before it will be ready for
prime time, it is already usable to the point where I am doing a
lot of browsing and web development in it.
Like Winamp and other programs, Mozilla supports a skinnable user
interface. (That means you can customize its look.) In fact, the
entire UI (also known as "chrome") can be customized using a
combination of XUL (extensible UI language (pronounced "zool")),
JavaScript, and CSS (cascading stylesheets).
I think it would be really cool if somebody would create some
Moby-themed chrome for Mozilla. It could be used in both Mozilla
and the forthcoming Netscape 6.0 (yes, it's a version number
atrocity) betas. It could be as simple as a graphical skin a la
Winamp, or with some technical wizardry it could add functionality
to the user interface. I'm not adept at crafting graphics, so I'm
just presenting this idea for anyone who is.
Here are some links where you can pick up a copy of Mozilla, and
find out more about customizing its chrome. Remember, Mozilla is
only alpha quality right now, so wait for an official Netscape
release if you want to avoid rampant bugs and incomplete features.
