  59. The availablilty of Thanks 1 is VERY up in the air I am guessing now that
  60. Eric is going to be doing Thanks 2 for us.  (THANKS ERIC!)  I don't know if
  61. all the Thanks1 stuff got sent to Eric along with the Thanks 2 stuff.
  62. (ERIC?  enlighten us?)  As for getting Thanks 2, you will have to wait until
  63. it is finished.  As unbelieveable as it may be, that CD is STILL not done.
  64. Like I said above, Eric Goldberg is now at the controls for this CD (taking
  65. over for the ever disappearing Greg and his lack of time/effort).  If you
  66. have any questions about Thanks 2, send them his way.  He posts often enough
  67. that you should be able to snag his email address.

  136. Hmm, perhaps some dub music, that would be cool. I would really like to
  137. see another dance album with some ambient tracks, but I think the chances
  138. Moby gets back to that stuff again are really small... Moby luckily hasn't

  140. abandoned dance music judging from the b-sides Arp and Sunday, but a whole
  141. album of this..neh.   Another punk album would be nice too...

  361. i remember in some interview lately he'd mentioned wanting to do something
  362. like an mtv unplugged, that he'd already figgured out a couple dozen of
  363. his songs for orchestration. i'm paraphrasing off of memory. i could be
  364. wrong, it could of just been something in a dream, but i'm pretty sure i
  365. saw or heard this somewhere. not a solid plan, just a concept he had. i'd
  366. dig it if it happened. i think he'd also mentioned an album of ballads or
  367. something? damn, i should figgure out what interview this was... something
  368. posted to the list maybe? hm...

  452. yeah folks i know im supposed to be in Phoenix now....
  453. damn flight got cancelled. were goin sunday.

  455. anyway, last nite i had a dream that Moby did a DJ mix
  456. cd! he did it under a silly pseudonym, like "Richard H
  457. Oldskool" or something. the first song was by KLF
  458. (actually the JAMMS)! lots of techno type stuff that
  459. ive never heard of (altho i think Moby would probly
  460. not have a mix of lots of anonymous stuff, like most
  461. mix cds tend to do) and lots of hip hop too. there was
  462. no actual Moby songs, altho one song did feature the
  463. "Natural Blues" vocals synched up with a completely
  464. unrelated track (not even like a remix)...... but the
  465. weird thing was, it wasnt even chopped up or
  466. anything.... okay see you know obviously on the album
  467. version at least, the vocals are a little chopped up,
  468. just to make it fit on the beat? well in my dream, it
  469. wasnt like that at all, it was just the song being
  470. played straight thru, you couldnt hear any chopping up
  471. AT ALL, and even weirder, there were extra lines in
  472. the song! like the verse went like this:

  476. soul got happy and stayed all day
  477. (some other line i cant remember)

  479. but there were like whole other lines in the song, and
  480. it soundedd weird. and the techno  track in the

  482. would probly be impossible, cuz the original was
  483. probly a capella, no accompaniment, nothing to keep a
  484. solid beat, and thats why Moby had to chop it up,
  485. obviously. but that was just weird. and nice.

  488. by Vera Hall, I believe? that would be REALLY WEIRD if
  489. there were extra lines and junk in it. too bad i cant
  490. remember what the extra verses were. its hard to

  545. I have a quick suggestion for any Moby fan with both artistic and
  546. technical aptitude.  It would honor and promote Moby, and would be
  547. a neato spifferific endeavor besides. :)

  549. Mozilla, an open source web browser on which the next generation
  550. of Netscape will be based, is in an advanced stage of development.
  551. Though it still has a few months to go before it will be ready for
  552. prime time, it is already usable to the point where I am doing a
  553. lot of browsing and web development in it.
  554.  
  555. Like Winamp and other programs, Mozilla supports a skinnable user
  556. interface.  (That means you can customize its look.)  In fact, the
  557. entire UI (also known as "chrome") can be customized using a
  558. combination of XUL (extensible UI language (pronounced "zool")),
  559. JavaScript, and CSS (cascading stylesheets).
  560.  
  561. I think it would be really cool if somebody would create some
  562. Moby-themed chrome for Mozilla.  It could be used in both Mozilla
  563. and the forthcoming Netscape 6.0 (yes, it's a version number
  564. atrocity) betas.  It could be as simple as a graphical skin a la
  565. Winamp, or with some technical wizardry it could add functionality
  566. to the user interface.  I'm not adept at crafting graphics, so I'm
  567. just presenting this idea for anyone who is.
