good news, another sales boost for play, number 1ne
with a bullet on Heatseekers for a 3hird week in a
row. with all this TRL hubbub goin on, and RS and
stuf, we should be in the top 100undred in no time.
yay!
in tthe ireland.com article, it says something about
over a million sales? does that mean the album has
sold over a million worldwide? thats quite an
achievement. it hasnt yet gone gold here (but you know
it will).
i know what he means, like its weird that people are
relating to his muzik without him being there.
and i also bet Elektra is kicking themselves ;)
suckers! that would be funny if when the next TMBG
record comes out it did pretty good, and Elektra would
be all jealous too. TMBG split from Elektra a few
years ago, btw. their last album was only available on
MP3!

Subject: (mobility) DJ Pagan's Friday Rounds...
Hey everyone!
I apologize for the spam, but sending it twice is
silly. Here are the results of my Friday rounds.
Recent reviews will available later today,
hopefully. If none of you are interested, please
delete...
* Astralwerks - Two new releases. I have to pick
them up from the Post Office today, I believe. :)
Let you know how they are. There is currently a
listening party for Clinton, and more tracks
available for Luke Vibert and BJ Cole.
Clinton - "Disco and the Halfway to Discontent"
www.astralwerks.com/clinton/
Luke Vibert/BJ Cole - "Stop the Panic"
www.astralwerks.com/vibertcole/
* Underworld and Orbital - Both have produced
"singleworthy" new tracks for the soundtrack to
"The Beach" featuring everyone's most hated
actor, Leonardo Di Caprio. There are also new
tracks by New Order and Leftfield. Due for
release next month

For Orbital Info...

* Richie Hawtin - North America Tour Dates Added.
I'm going to try to hit the Chicago show if I
can, but probably won't make it as I'm going to
see Sandra Collins spin the night before at the
Crobar. Never discount the possibilities.

* Dave Ralph - Currently touring for Tranceport
II. I haven't picked this up yet myself, but
from what I've heard, it matches or surpasses
Oakie's set.
For Tour Dates...

For Info on Tranceport II

* Sandra Collins - Will be producing Tranceport
III, something I'm really looking forward to. I
will be more impressed with an actual album from
her, but I suppose you have to pay your dues
first. No tracklisting as of yet.
For Tour Dates...

* Moby - Natural Blues is out March 7th in the
U.K. It should be another 2CD set with mixes by
Deep Dish, Oakie, and Mike D from the Beastie
Boys. Plus two new B-Sides: Sick in the System
and Whispering Wind. All of this is hearsay, no
confirmation from Mute quite yet. Current on
tour in Europe.

Subject: (mobility) Recent Acquisitions
Okay, here are my recent acquisitions. Criticize
me if you want, but I like what I like. Music is
music to me. Deep meaning is to be found in
philosophy... which is my minor. With that...
* Psychopathic Rydas - Dumpin'
This is a bootleg (or so they say) from
Psychopathic Records, which is the company that
puts out Insane Clown Posse and Twiztid. The
Psychopathic Rydas are ICP, Twiztid, Myzery, and
Blaze. It's an album of "bootlegged" rap beats
put to some classic Psychopathic lyrics. The
album is humorous as they try to
rap/g-funk/hip-hop around. They even made names
for everyone, like Foe Foe and Full Clip. I like
this album because it's meant as humor, but it's
nothing like the usual horror movie rap you would
normally get.
* Various Artists - Psychopathics from Outer
Space
This is another "bootleg" album from Psychopathic
Records that ICP and Twiztid are selling on their
current tour. It's some hard-to-find /
unreleased as of yet stuff, which makes it all
the more lucrative to a juggalo like myself.
Highlights are "Slim Anus", a parody of Slim
Shady which was played on the Howard Stern show
after Eminem dissed ICP for literally no reason,
and "The Dirt Ball", which was a single released
only in Detroit.
NOTE: The views of the CDs above do not represent
the views of the owner. :) If you would like to
order either of the above CDs, please visit:
www.insaneclownposse.com.
* Underworld - Bruce Lee
I like Underworld a lot, so this wasn't a
disappointment. There is a short version,
Micronauts remix, and the Dobropet remix of the
title track plus a remix of Cups by Salt City
Orchestra. Favorites are the Micronauts remix
and the Cups remix. Good stuff. Of course,
after I order it as an import, the Singles set
comes out in the US. I hope they do that with
Moby's stuff via V2.
* Clinton - Disco and the Halfway to Discontent
Not worth the hype that Astralwerks is making
over it... sorry all you Cornershop fans. There
are a few highlghts, but only because I like the
South Asian vibe in it. Some tracks are
annoyingly whiny while others are all right. I
was expecting (silly me) for a sound closer to
the FBS remix of Brimful of Asha... ah well.
Live and learn. I'll give it about two weeks in
heavy rotation, then pimp it out to E-bay.
* Luke Vibert/BJ Cole - Stop the Panic
Fucking brilliant. I like Vibert's vibe (pardon
the repitition) and BJ Cole only accents it. The
move from Hawaiian to Bluegrass to Swing all with
a sometimes slammin' sometimes groovin' beat is a
really neat sound. So far, the best thing I've
heard this year... then again, it's only January.

Subject: (mobility) rant about moby bids on ebay
oi there.
this is a little rant, 'cause of something i just saw on ebay.
someone was selling a single starting at a couple bucks. it's a 3-track
promo. rare? prolly. hard to find tracks on it? maybe, there's no list
given in the auction info, and it's not in the discography, so there's no
way to say offhand. i was thinking, "hey, a couple bucks, one bidder,
maybe i'll bid". so i look to see who bid. it was someone on mobility. no
point in driving the price up, so i left it alone, dropped him an email
about it, 'cause it amused me at the time. so now i'm skimming the
auctions and i see that it's up to some 31 bucks just between him and one
other person on the list, whom i know even better. i feel that this is
just out of hand. granted, they both want it, but a bidding war is silly.
i suggest this:
if yer bidding on something moby on ebay, see if the other main bidder's
name is familiar from the list. if so, and it's not a big deal, let it go.
if it is a big deal, contact them, try'n figgure out whom it's most
important to and why. if you both really want the thing, get a third
person, like me or someone else on the list, and have yer bidding war with
them as the mediator, then whoever looses that can just back off on ebay
and maybe the winner will back off the next auction with a similar
situation. save some stress, save some money, help maintain our sense of
community. otherwise, we're just screwing ourselves.
hope everyone's surving life alright this week.
keep moving,
-mark
p.s. - maybe it's not too late to retract a few bids guys, 10 bucks a
track is just stupid, and it's not like this money's going to moby, hell,
promo shit ain't s'posed to be resold at all...

I hate to be a pessimist, but the performers for the Grammy's have been
stated so far to be santana, tlc and Elton John. John is getting the life
time achievement award I guess. It's a widely accepted truth that the
performers at the Grammy's are almost always the winners. So if Moby's not
performing, that is not a good sign...

"low down good girl", "spirit" (supposedly track 2 off of something), and
"unfinished sympathy".
they're all very cool tracks, any info on them would be neat-o. thanks.

I sign :)
So if you see playmoby bidding on something, stay away (you won't see me very
often as i'm often outbid) ! No seriously, i totally agree with Mark. If it's
for new tracks that you bid on something, why not have a trade with the other
guy ? If it's only for artwork, why are you bidding so high ?

Again, there's no moby song called "unfinished sympathy", but he has a
terrific track called "Unloved Symphony" from the *Move* EP, which was

okie, thanks fer everyone that replied, looks like "unfinished sympathy"
was just mislabled by someone before it landed here, tho i gotta say, it's
got quite a mobyish feel to it.
"low down good girl" is still in question, my possible guess is that it's
a nick-name fer some remix title, the vocal sample in it is just "make me
feel good", so maybe it's a move mix. i'm getting the last couple mixes of
move that i know of and don't have shortly, and if it's not either of
those i'll post an mp3 so ppl can check it out...
cheers,
