Hi all
In those times of apocalypse (joking but not too much because here we have
nice natural catastrophes. The end of the world ? -or France only ? ...) i
must say that music makes me feel "good" and Moby especially. But as an avid
collector, i'm looking for that damned spanish release of "Porcelain", one of
the best songs of the album Play best album of the year (ex aequo with
Premiers Symptomes of Air that is so good but also so short. But you have to
listen, "once in a lifetime", "le Soleil est pres de moi". it is awfully
brilliant, one of the best tracks i've ever heard, along with"When it's cold
i'd like to die" by a guy called Moby but that is not the point here).
Was it a joke of Daniel from moby.org ? The thing is that i took for true
what was said on the site... I think i'll have to change that. I wanted so
much to see what could be on the release... :( We'll have to wait for Natural
Blues.
Well that's all i guess. To those who party, have fin (on Moby music of
course), to those whoare working or baby sitting, have fun too (i personnally
am doing a baby sitting and would do that every year when being a student if
the prices stay that high for one night ! )
God bless and viva Moby !

I have a question for you folks. In one of my weekly mailing lists of new
imports there was the Play French Version (I think) with bonus tracks which
is to be released on 1/10/00 with the lovely note of more details to come..
like that makes me feel better. Anyway, any one have any clue what the bonus
track might be? I would guess Flying Foxes, and if that was the case I
really wouldn't bother with it.. but what if not? Hmm... If only they had
track listings! le sigh.

What tracks are on this single and are there any on-line retailers that
can provide it?

Hi All,
Firstly, I should introduce myself- I'm Lawrence from Australia. I've been
a member of this list for about a half year now, but I prefer to read than
submit. Most of your guys are die hard Moby fans and have so much more to
contribute than I have- so I rather read what it is that goes on in your
minds instead. I hope that doesn't sound pathetiqically righteous- it isn't
meant to be. I'm the guy that sits in the corner at parties watching, but
still has a good time.
Anyway, my point to all this- I acutally work for the record company that
distributes Moby in Australia. We've had the pleasure of having him over
here twice this year, and both times, he has been phenomenal to work with.
I haven't come across an artist in a long time that will make conversation
even when they're tired, and make it interesting at that.
Anyway, i've been watching with interest the "Is Moby Gay" thread that has
started. I am actually gay. I can honestly say that Moby is gay-friendly,
but I severly doubt that he is gay. We had one dinner where the bulk of the
guests were female, and Moby jokingly said "seven females, two males, one
gay- my odds are looking good!"- which I think shows what an underlying
sense of humour he has too. He is also an absolute gentleman, and he won me
over completely in the short amount of time that I had to work with him.
Just thought I would share this cause they seems to be much (polite,
thankfully) discussion going on regarding it.
Other than that, i'm typing this in the final hours of 99, and the final
hours of the 1900- this in itself seems all rather strange. But,
essentially, I wish you all the best for 2000- and remember that the only
limitations you have are the ones that you set by yourself.
Cheers
Lawrence

I wouldn't bother either, only since I have the WDMHFSB single with Flying
Foxes on it. BUT... I LOVE that song!!! It has become one of my favorite
Moby songs!!!

Beautiful. I never knew he was bisexual.... Although it is fitting! It
comforts me in a way....... I know many bi/homosexual people, and their all
so much fun! Anyways... Did everyone get my last posts about moby being on
the American Red Cross show? I dont know how... but for a short while, I
wasnt on the list anymore....Weird... Happy New Year to everyone!

exciting about it, the album + an extra cd with spirit and Memory Gospel, a
french interview and a better version of the why does ... video (better in
quality because mpeg format)

"THERES ONLY ONE YEAR LEFT!!!!!!!!!" -Busta Rhymes, as
you all know the millenium blablablablablablabla20001.
ok folks, actually it should be called Y2M, because K
is like metric systm, kilometers etc, its like saying
Y-Ton almost ;) so M is the roman numeral for
thousand, not to sound like an advert for M&Ms, but
its really Y2M. or Y2G is good i guess. i'm calling it
Y-Ton just cuz it sounds weird.
right, just wanna say that my pal Fran Fried, muzik
critic for the New Haven Register, released his top
muzik of the year list, and he always mentions all
these obscure bands that nobody knows of, all these
surf-punk-garage bands that only sell 200 copies, so
anyone who reads his list will automatically disagree.
but Moby was there of course, also in his top 25 of
the decade, and EIW was in his next 25 of the decade.
(he couldnt assign numbers, cuz theres vintage apples
peaches oranges and grapes mixed in there, you know?)
and Honey, Machete, and WDMHFSB? where in his songs of
the year list. he also listed Running With Scissors as
honorable mention! NO muzik critics ever praise Weird
Al or anything, so that just rules.
and uh sorry about that whole "poetry" thing. i wrote
a poem to Precious Roy over at sockheads, so i decided
what the hell, might as well torture u moby freaks.
oh well. bye!

That's a really cool cause for them to be playing for. I mean, shit,
ppl should be allowed to dance! It's good for you! It burns calories,
it's good excercize, it's a good way to meet ppl and dancing makes the
soul oh-so-happy!
