yeah i totally agree with that. there are so many girls that i could find
"hot' but thinking about getting with them in that way leaves a funny feeling
inside. so i dont think its necessarily a bisexual thing.

hey folks, i hate to totally go off on a tangent but i
just wanted to comment, i thought the new tricky was
pretty good actually. it is kind of an attempt to be
more commercial, but why not? i thought "i like the
girls that like the ladies" was pretty funny actually,
in a sick kind of way (then again, i hate to admit
this, but i actually liked a few bits on eminem's
cd.....yes i know i oughta be slapped.....definitley
not the one with the mushrooms tho, that song was
awful). i also like angels with dirty faces too. i
honestly dont care what tricky does, it doesnt seem
like he's going back to Maxinquaye so everyone should
just shut up and stop wishing he would, you all know
it aint gonna happen. if you dont like him now, youre
probly never going to like him again. theres lots of
other great muzik out there anyway, its not like you
have to listen to him....
okay sorry everyone, that was just total bullocks. i
oughta be slapped. sorry! bye!

i agree with what he's saying, most people at the very
least 'scope out the competion', thinking oh, this guy
is better looking, this girl is better looking, and so
forth. even though someone may think, that someone of
the same sex is attactive, doesn't mean they will
persue this. but to an extent everyone does have a
bisexual side.

wow. i had no idea i would get so many responses to this.
i was just curious for a few reasons: a) i'm gay so i wondered
whether some of those lyrics were as intentionally homoerotic as they
sound; b) i've seen him out here in new york twice and both times he
seemed to stare (perhaps i'm flattering myself here, but if you were
there, i'm sure you'd agree); and c) i would be very surprised and
more than a little circumspect if someone with moby's political
pedigree (i.e. his politics in general, which are very progressive
and liberal, if not a tiny bit na=EFve) was a closeted homosexual. i
trust he practices what he preaches.
DON'T FLAME ME NOW! i LOVE moby. esp 'animal rights.' i'm just curious, is a=
ll.
and to the person who was more than a little ticked off at my
question: moby himself has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't
believe in separating the artist from his moral/political/social
values. that's why he includes those essays in all his records-to let
us know that understanding what he believes is essential to
understanding his music. you don't have to agree with it, but you
have to understand it. so, it really isn't a question of 'who cares?'
we all should.
n.b. to the same person: don't confuse a question with a judgement.

I don't know if that was directed at me cuz I did say who cares, but it was
more who care about his sexuality. Honestly I don't. It doesn't change the
fact that he makes wonderful music and he's a person who stands up for what
he believes in and is non judgemental. Gay, straight, bisexual, it doesn't
really change anything in my mind.

mine too. i don't think i'd change anything. i have a
very close personal friend who is gay and he didn't
say anything until last year. i don't think any thing
different of him now. he's actually a lot funner(if
that's a word). especially when we talk about guys.
peace.

no funner isnt a word, although sometimes i dont know about my
spelling.
and i completely agree it changes absolutely nothing in my mind.
moby is a really great artist, i saw him here in ft.myers ( my
hometown)
and he drew a very nice self-portrait on my student id for me.
he seems like a very nice and talented man, weither or not he
is gay, bi, or straight,
i dont care. ;)

Hidy ho neighborinos....
Anyway...for those of you that following the Christian calendar...have a fun
and prosperous Y2G...ok...or...if you prescribe to the beliefs uttered by
the KLF or 2K in F* The Millenium...have fun living just another set of
days.
"Flying Foxes" was also used in the movie, but I do not recall where...I
was so happy to hear Moby when I heard it. I went to the movie with a
couple friends including another Moby fan...we both where quite suprised
and happy to hear so much Moby...and in a good movie nonetheless. I've been
told the soundtrack will be released next month...and I thought a couple of
the songs were different mixes from Play...we will see.
So I was quite disappointed to see that Play was not on the AOL's list for
best albums...I had to vote for NIN...I like the album...and its the only
album of those that I own...and would even consider owning...
More Moby stuff: I've heard Moby all over local radio...and tv...mostly for
commericials...newscasts..but one radio station (the one who had moby at the
Xmas Rave) mentions moby on air sometimes...sometimes plays him...
As for the best of the year: In no order...
Moby- Play
Public Enemy- Poison Going On
NIN- Fragile
Manic Street Preachers- This is my truth
2pac and Outlawz- I still Rise (oh...quite good...barely made it in 1999)
Notorious BIG- Born Again
London Suede- Head Music
DC Talk- Supernatural
Solar Twins- Self Titled
Garth Brooks- Life of Chris Gaines
oh and there are so many more I cannot think of...
Best of Century...heck...too many...but other than moby...which I think
deserves a best of century nod (not neccesarily the #1)...
Marvin Gaye- Whats Going On
The Who- (Heck anything by these guys...rock geniuses)
Louis Armstrong- What a Wonderful World
Help Compilation
Dr. Dre- The Chronic
Public Enemy- It Takes a Nation
Someone mentioned Jello Biafra earlier...I saw him speak/perform early this
month...really good stuff...
anyway...take care all...if Y2k strikes a computer near you...use drums and
smoke signals...

First, **Rob Skipworth** are you out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have a package for you, and I'm not sure I have the right address,
also my e-mails to you all seem to bounce....

That's right, FUCK THE MILLENNIUM
The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu rule... (I think I'm gonna play
"Last Train To Trancentral" now, wow I haven't heard that song
in a long time!)
1999 has (besides all Moby releases) been a VERY disappointing year in my
opinion. I only bought 3 album CDs that were made this year:
= Moby - Play
= The Clash - Burning London Tribute
= Bad Brains Tribute - Never Give In
And only because the last 2 have a Moby track on them.... Now my musical
interests are very wide (ranging from early Metallica to Ferry Corsten) but
nothing seemed to sound right this year. However I did some great musical
discoveries this year. I fell in love with Air's music and also developed a
passion for The Future Sound Of London, but they didn't release anything
this year... Any news on the new Air album/soundtrack?
Ok kids, have a happy 2000 and don't get too drunk on new years eve.
(you may want to be sober enough to operate a flashlight when the power
goes out because of the Y2K bug, ha ha ha :)

.. i agree.. it took me a while to get into Tricky's
new album, but now i really love it.. i like that
about moby and tricky, they can make such increadiblly
diverse kinds of music. i saw tricky in concert a
couple of months ago and i thought the energy he put
into the show was very intense. he played a lot of
songs from maxinque and pre millenium mixed in with
his newer stuff; it all really made sense together..
it took me a long time to get into Play, but i have to
remember that's why i love these artists; because they
never bore me... Sweet dreams... *kitt*

Good choices.. Air's newest album Premier Symptomes or whatever is out I
know. They're working on the s/t for the virgin suicides (i think that's
what it's called).. I'm so dense i just picked up moon safari like last month
and was sooo thrilled because all these songs I loved but didn't know who
made them and they had.
Anybody know anything about Delerium? I just heard "silence" with vocals by
Sarah MacClaughlin (i know the spelling is bad) and fell in love with it. So
I'm going to track down a cd.
