i thought it was funny in EW when they said blink

Seems like a valid question to ask considering all of the other top
"whatever" lists of the century.
_____________________________________________________________
My top 5 albums of 1999
_____________________________________________________________
1). NIN - The Fragile
(On so many levels this albums is so great, musically, lyrically and
visually. Trent seems to have finally moved on from the teen angst of
"downward spiral" and onto a new level. Musically this album is a tour de
force, songs like the piano at the beginning of 'la mer" and the way "The
Great Below" builds and feels, or "Starfuckers inc." for its farce and
honesty. Great album, the remixes are just as good and the band has a great
web-site with plenty for the fan. Great all around)
2). Moby - Play
(Well duh? I listened to this album so much when it came out that I am a bit
burnt out on it. Moby added soul to electronic music, and not in a silly
way. I have been a little disappointed by the single choices, "Honey" is
great, "run on" ok but but "Body Rock" I never liked. Album highlights in my
opinion are "My Weakness", "If things were perfect" and "Porcelain". Moby
never stops surprising me and I think it is one reason I have listend to him
for so long. Let hope for a remix album like the one for "EIW", that would
just make an amazing album better.
3). Tom Waits - Mule Variations
(Love the voice, love the blues and soul and love the barking dogs and
chickens for the songs recorded "out in the yard", literally. This album
puts a smile on my face from start to finish. Mr. Waits impressions of
society and life in general are tragic but at the same time right on.
Musically this album is for to play loud at a stop light with the windows
rolled down while the kids in the next car over with Korn playing or
whatever look at you like 'What the hell". Learn from one of the masters.)
4).A TIE - Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles, Atari
Teenage Riot - 60 Second Wipeout
(The newest ATR album picks up where 'Burn Berlin burn" left off and adds
alot to the plate. As much as I love the pure digital noise of early ATR
work, it is nice to hear ATR go in a somewhat muscial direction. i love to
hear the noise and beats in the background while Hannah (that is her name
right?) chant in monotone over everything. if you can find it with the bonus
live disc you are even more lucky.
RATM finally comes out with an album to match their self titled debut. "Evil
Empire was ok, better played live than translated onto a produced CD, but
"The battle of Los Angeles" matches the lyrical power of the self titled
album and musically it seems tom and the boys have finally figured out what
Zach is doing in front of them. It is funny to hear RATM as background music
in say "The House of Style" or on CBS bumpers considering what the music
stands for.)
5). The Dust Brothers - Fight Club Score
(Wow! Wow! Wow! I got this album about 2 weeks before I saw the movie, while
listening to the album I already had a vision of the movie (and I read the
book), upon seeing the movie the album took on an even better face. from
start to finish this album is just solid.)
_____________________________________________________________
My bottom/most disappointing 5 albums of 1999
_____________________________________________________________
5).Lenny Kravitz - 5
(You know "American Woman" is cool and everything when you hear it 9000
times and "Fly Away" makes me want to hit someone when every I see the
Nissan (or Toyota) commercial but the rest of the VERY OVER RATED album
sucks. Lenny is cool and everything and even though his musical career is
based on ripping of hendrix and 70's rock he still blows when he isn't
writing the next frat boy anthem. The 70s are over, and for good reason,
drop the glam rock please!!!!)
4) Fiona Apple - When The Pawn...
(to quote my favorite character on Late Night with Conan Obrien
character..."This albums is good enough....GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO POOP ON!
Come on Fiona we don't care about how rough your life is, at least I don't.
While "Tidal" remains an album I just can't get out of my mind "When The
Pawn...) I could not get out soon enough, it was actually painful to listen
to.)
3). Kruder & Dorfmeister - The K&D Sessions
(You know, it just ain't all that, like every critic/listener says!)
2). Tricky - Juxtapose
(What is this thing? Luckily I downloaded it in MP3 and did not pay for
this, MP3 is cool like that. While I like the first track "For Real" the
rest of the album is one painful track after another, and DJ Muggs, go away.
While this album is not as bad as "Angels with dirty faces" it still is bad.
We need another "Christiansands" or "Overcome", please.
1). Korn - issues
(One word describes this album "Trash". While I am very happy to see Korn
out there making it (No i don't think they are sell-outs...blah blah blah)
musically i just hate the direction they are going. I am sick to death of
Jonathon's "issues" and I he is not 17 anymore living with his parents, get
off of the teen angst thing...it is lame when you are a late 20 something
millionare...move on next!)

hey. i'd have to agree with you, the fight club
soundtrack is awesome. i just got it for christmas,
but i read the book then saw the movie. and even
though they were similar, they were also different in
ways, but i thought both were excellent. and funny.
edward norton did an excellent job, he's my favorite
actor. i loved the scene where he beat himself up in
his boss's office, that and the scene when they were
stealing the fat and what happened to brad pitt. i
laughed so hard, but the soundtrack has some awesome
songs on it.

everyones bisexual :
ok, for you tollerate someone around you there has to be some sort of an
attraction between you and them. now im sure we all have some friends of the
same sex. there had to of been something that attracted you to them in the
firstplace. so therefore everyone is bisexual. [ in all honesty i can look
at another male on the street and find him attractive. that dosnt mean im
going to hop in the sack w/ him tho. ]
