Well according to the Mob-str himself, "everyone's bisexual."

Yes he did say that, but I don't think he meant that literally.

Maybe it's just his way of saying he enjoys all people regardless of their
sex. I don't know. Him being bisexual kind fits his persona. But either
way, I don't care and I don't think it's any of our concern..

for what it's worth, i recall reading a chat transcript in which someone
asked him if he ever had a homosexual experience, to which he replied that he
never had. based on what i saw on VH1's The List (regarding the "everyone's
bisexual" quip), i think he believes that when it comes to musical lyrics,
gender is not an essential detail.

I don't think he would make it public knowledge (if it were true). Not out
of embaressment or anything, but I think it would label him as that "gay
elecronica guy" or whatever label people put on him and would detract from
the music. He's done a really good job avoiding labels thus far and I don't
think he would pin one on himself. But that's just my opinion.

It doesn't matter if Moby is gay or not. It is of no more importance
than the colour of his hair (flesh coloured, I think), his eyes, or the
colour of his skin. All that matters is who Moby is, not what he is, and
who he is is Moby. So lets leave it at that. For all I care he could be
any colour, any religious belief - though I do find that music made by
extreme rightwingers or people with padeophile/etc. tendencies is
unacceptable as I cannot in any way support or fund the activities of
such people willingly.
To ask if he's gay is irrelevant and discriminatory. Are you? and your
answer to that, as Mobys could be, will probably be - "Who cares?"

It was a great year for me as about all of my favorite artists released new
CD's in 99.
And most lived up to my hopes and then some (with the exception of George
Michael's sleeping pill of a CD).
It was a great year because after years of waiting I FINALLY got to see the
Pet Shop Boys return to America and perform live. I NEVER thought I'd have
that opportunity, I missed their earlier US tours. 3 shows in 3 nights,
from Chicago, home to Detroit to Toronto it was an awesome experience.
But the biggest reason it was a great year was because I finally discovered
the genius of Moby. Prior to this year the only Moby recordings I owned
were the Pet Shop Boys remix of "Miserblism" he did and the "Revolver"
single for the Rollo and Sister Bliss mix (as a collector of Faithless I
also collect Rollo's mixes, he's awesome.) Well I picked up "Honey", again
for the Rollo mix and didn't think much else of it. Then Chuck Horn, God
Bless him, educated me again. Last year it was Faithless he introduced me
to. He has a 2 hour weekly "Electronica" show on local public radio. I tape
it every Friday and listen to it during the week. What should I hear but
"Oh Lawdy..." the opening of "Natural Blues". The song and it's beauty
mesmerized me. Next came another thing of beauty I would find out was
called
"Porcelein" and I found out it came from the new CD "Play" by Moby. I
instantly had to have this CD and it has astounded me ever since. Thank God
I got it in time because shortly after Moby came to Detroit on the Play
Tour and I said "I have to get tickets to this". My brother and I went to
St. Andrews Hall and again I was blown away and it blew him away too. He
was hooked. Since then, we've both been running like mad to get any and
every Moby CD, remix, etc we can find. Record stores, online stores, Ebay,
I'm making up for all those last years of not knowing this man's musical
genius. As a fan of another musical genius, Prince, who has become
disenchanted with his downward spiral how nice to be introduced, however
late, to new genius. Moby tore it up live and it is always live that is the
true test. I was a believer. I regret the years I've missed but thank
goodness I found him, better late than never.
As if this wasn't long enough :) my top 5 CD's of the year:
#5 Dido "No Angel"- Rollo's sister steps out from vocal duty with Faithless
and delivers an album of beauty helped by her brother's wonderful
production touches.
This young lady should be huge if things are fair. Jewel who? She wishes
she could make music like this. That "Here With Me" wasn't a hit is one of
the biggest crimes of 1999.
#4 Prince (no I'm not calling him that stupid symbol) "Rave Un2 The Joy
Fantastic"
I had given up on Prince. I've been a huge fan and collector since 1984,
sticking with him through all his crap, his stupid name change, his stupid
PR stunts but he had become too much. From suing fans and websites to
babbling incoherently about
numerous topics to shoving his religious beliefs down peoples throats
(something Moby does not do, he says what he believes but doesn't try to
force it on you) it had become too much to bear. Combine that with the crap
product he'd been putting out and it was over for me. But then I got a
promo CD from someone at Arista of this a week before release and couldn't
believe my ears. There are still a few clunkers on here but overall, it is
the master back again showing all these modrn R&B HACKS who wish they had
the talent Prince has in his pinky who the true musical genius is.
You can keep your R Kelly's, Maxwell's, D'angelo's, Babyface's and all the
rest.
None of them would be here if not for Prince, and they are all Prince
wannabees.
I'd like to see D'angelo come up with something like "Sun Moon and Stars",
simply amazing.
#3 Everything But The Girl "Temperamental"
After loving the mixes EBTG had from the last few releases, my dream was a
full length CD exploring electronic sounds with Tracey's heavenly voice. My
wish come true, stellar from track 1 to track 10. "Lullaby For Clubland"
NEEDS to be a single.
#2 Pet Shop Boys "Nightlife"
2 tracks produced by Rollo are epic dance stompers, some gorgeous string
work by Craig Armstrong and Neil and Chris have my favorite CD of theirs
since "Behavior".
#1 Moby "Play"
Need I say anything else? Nothing even came close in 99 for me, this CD was
a masterwork. Add in the awesome B-sides and you have even more great
material from the Little Idiot, just a great year for Moby all around. I
love it when I put on a CD and my jaw just drops for an hour, it doesn't
happen often enough but it certainly did here.
I've rambled enough,
MikeA

yeah, in both USA TODAY and Entertainment Weekly, PLAY
is #4our best album of the year! yay! altho i have to
say, if NIN or RATM werent as popular as they were
PLAY would easily be 1ne, on every survey...well ok
maybe BECK would be #1ne. (well except EW, their 1ne
was...Robbie Williams?@?@) of course if moby was more
popular then RATM or NIN the world would probly be a
different place huh? even if NIN or RATM were just
simply NOT AS POPULAR..... whatever. PLAY is number
one, sez me.
altho, EW praised Luscious Jackson (altho just
"Ladyfingers" not the whole album which was almost
equally as phat) and Beta Band, so thats cool too.
altho in the TV section it praised the Simpsons, but
Futurama or S&O werent mentioned anywhere. well, who
gives about what critics think anyway.
hmmm..... hey did anyone see the new Weird Al AL TV
special? they played the Jon Spencer video that Al
directed, and Bjork's "I Miss You" (I still hate that
video, i hate Ren & Stimpy and anything to do with
them, but the song rocks and Bjork rocks and its cool
that Al played Bjrok, MTV never plays her ;) and a
bunch of Al stuff! yay! i like the Michael Stipe
"interview" the first thing Stipe said was "My name is
Bjork"! and al said "No it isn't"! awesome!
right, i better go. bye!
"That was the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, playing a
song you will definitely not find on my new album
"Running With Scissors" or my new home video "Weird Al
Yankovic Live!""

that was a good point, about the praying thing i mean.
and i agree with the person that reminded us of moby's
statement on the list, gender doesn't matter when it
comes to music. speaking of gender, i heard this green
day song, i think it was basket case but it confuses
me when he says "i went to a whore, he said my lifes a

down."
now excuse me if its a stupid question but please
explain, someone, why he says 'he' then 'she'.
