I want to thank everyone who totally fought for the validity of the Animal
Rights Cd.. It forced me to pick up my copy that had been collecting dust for
years... I got it right after Everything is Wrong (my first Moby) and was so
disappointed because it wasn't anything like what I was expecting... Plus it
was a little to heavy for my tastes back then... So anyahoo, i was switching
CD's in my car and flipping through my book o cds I saw animal rights in the
official moby section and popped it in and actually listened to it (every
single song). Wow. What a sad sad sad CD... There was so many beautiful
snippits of noise in the background that you have to listen for.. But damn,
just the songs.... Terribly sad stuff.. What I got out of it was Moby
(fictionally or in reality I don't know and really don't care) was in an
obsessive/unhealthy relationship, they broke up, he was pissed, then gripped
on sad acceptance of it... What a great CD... not an everyday listening
experience but still great.

Even though i like Moby and think he is my favorite
solo artist..I listen to some of those groups..such as
eminem, and i like blink 182...i have a very diverse
collection of music...and find alot of it very
good..and alot of it very bad...

I completely agree that AR is a great album. The very first time I listened
to it, I was a bit confused because I was in a "Play" mindset and not quite
prepared for that initial burst of anger on "Someone to Love." I had to take
off my headphones, eat some cookies, and completely re-direct my
expectations. Now it's one of my favorites. It's the only CD I own that
lends itself to both vicariously venting my own frustrations as well as
mellow me out right before I go to bed.

I will chime in on this one.
Best Moby Single: I would say Next is the E...but its my fave song...
Best Non-Moby Single: It would probably be the KLF's Justified and
Ancient...yeah its old school..but hey Tammy Wynette and the KLF...can it
get any better???
Best Moby Non-Single: Hm...Living! I love that song way too much.
Best-Non-Mob Non-Single: Oh Gosh...this is quite hard. I dunno..probably
most of the Manic Street Preachers songs...Public Enemy...
NP: "Contraband: Men At Work's Greatest Hits" hehe.

last week they killed someones cat. it was so messed

dead the minute she wasn't coming. at this point i
question how it comes about that i have gone through 4

The solution:
tie your dog up in your yard.
Heh I hit 2 dogs when I lived in texas because the stupid caretakers let
dogs roam on the highway, and a dog at 60 mph can total your front end. It
is the legal responsibility of the owner to make sure it doesn't go on the
road. Don't blame it on God...God gave us inhibition not to walk on roads
with speeding cars...since animals don't have that sense maybe you should
teach them that.
Sorry bout your dog..

Subject: (mobility) Moby in Mixer
Moby's got the cover of Mixer magazine this month, which I picked up during
my lunch hour, as well as an old Built To Spill album and the new Clash live
album. I thought I'd send off a few interesting snippets for your perusal.
On Paul Van Dyk, which the interviewer says Moby regards as a friend:
"I seem to run into him at airports all the time now".
In the space of one week Moby opened up for Blondie at a benefit, DJed the
mtv video music awards, and spun at Donatella Versace's fashion week party.
Bono came up to Moby at a party, kissed his hands, and told him how much he
loved Play.
Axl's new material reminded Moby of U2's Achtung Baby. "It was powerful but
groovy. They were doing everything on ProTools. The only time he (Axl) got
testy was when I said 'these need vocals'. Obviously there's some issues
there. But I liked what I heard".
"It's so weird coming home at 3 in the morning checking your messages and
hearing, 'Hey Mobe it's Axl'".
At the Versace party, Madonna complimented Play and mentioned to Moby the
possibility of working together. (if you need the whole long quote, ask and
I shall provide.)
Near the end the interviewer quotes an acquintance (of Moby's or the
interviewer's?) who says that there's two sides to Moby: he wants to be this
outspoken good guy, but he's also that skinny little kid in high school who
couldn't get laid. On the latter, the acquiantance relates a story about the
Grammy awards where Moby urinated in the sushi tray and said it's 'punk
rock'.
There's an ad for Hackers 3, and a little note in a 'random info' type
section that says there's an exclusive Moby track at Amazon.com. (somebody
needs to investigate.. I'll see what's there... There's also a picture way
in the back that has Moby & Greta on stage. The magazine was fairly priced
at 3.50, which is why I have it here to look at instead of trying to
remember what was written in it... :)

Jiminy, I hope not. Besides the fact that it's completely gross, I am
reminded of an Entertainment Weekly article a few years or so ago about the
Spice Girls *ahem* defecating in potted plants at a hotel. That there could
be such an unsavory correlation between Moby and the Spice Girls saddens me
deeply.
I can only hope that if he really did do that, there was a substantial amount
of alcohol involved.

The "little idiot" character is a Moby innovation, but according to the
sleeve, the animation was done by some folks by the names of Susi Wilkinson,
Filipe Alcada, and Hotessa Laurence. I know that the little idiot appears on
other single sleeves and Moby merchendise, but as far as I know that's about
it. ANyone care to add?

okay, so on AMP yesterday after they played Bodyrock 3
(glasses video) and Run On they had this teeny
interview with Moby! yay! just sumthin like "there
really is no way to categorize it" "its influenced by
R&B but theres also some classical influence" and
something praising the fans too ;)
and go to amp.mtv.com i assume something Moby-related
is there now!
because some people asked,
AMP is MTV's electronic music/techno music show. its
on Sunday night (technically monday morning) from 2-3
am usually, yet they keep pre-empting it and shit cuz
they suck. its right after 120 minutes. the home page
is at amp.mtv.com where they have downloads of muzik,
interviews, recent playlist (or sometimes future
playlist) etc. AMP is of course the only reason to
watch MTV......until of course Sifl & Olly return,
which is now scheduled to be January or
February!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
except there onlt gonna play reruns of seasons 1 and
2, because season 3 is gonna be up for downloading on
the website. andd theyll play some videos from the new
seasons IN ROTATION to promo it. ROCK!
has anybody heard "Rockafeller Skank" on mainstream
top 40 radio lately? my god, its
unbelievable......they're actually playing something
that isn't some boy band, or a nu-metal band, or
something from a Mickey Mouse Club graduate, or some
lame rap tune. furthermore, theyre playing ELECTRONIC
MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! crazy. what the hell,
you couldnt have done that 2 years ago, when there was
all this hype about it? jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz.
BRAVO MOBY! there is too much sexism in muzik and MTV
and all that, and it affects the kidz as well. the
worst is like when Fred Durst says "half of my friends
are gay, we call each other 'fag' all the time" or "if
women could know how much i feel for them......" or
such bullshit he's been known to say. yeah right,
punk.
anyway big up to Moby and THEY BROUGHT BACK THE HAPPY
LITTLE ELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY
GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
okay bye.

Even MTV BIGWIGS have heart attacks!!!!!
SEND EMAIL TO MTV TELLING THEM TO PUT SIFL AND OLLY BACK ON!

Well, there isn't anything terribly sexy about pissing in a potted plant but he
was right when he said it was "punk rock". I lived w/ a punker for a while and
he would do just plain odd things and we would just look at each other and say,
"Yeah, that was punk rock" but I think you'd have to be there to understand it.
:-P
Anyways, when you have to carry out a body function, you have to. Props to MOBY
for being Punk Rock!
