Finally! I am going to get my chance to see Moby perform live! Whoohoo!
I was getting a bit sad that I was not going to get a chance to hear
Porcelain live...and see that stunning Thousand finale. He is playing the
Showbox (which unfortunately is 21+) on Dec 16. I am *definitely* going
to be there...even if I have to sell some organs! And it should be easy
to meet him at this venue since it's pretty straightforward...no hidden
exits or doors or anything. Yay!
Can ya tell I'm excited?!?! Who else is going to be there?

well, if you want to get into technicalities, i was abused quite cruelly as
a child, and i'm not about to tote it around or make a living out of it. he
(jonathan davis) isn't going on stage and saying "don't molest or beat
children" is he? not the last time i checked. i don't have a problem with
him expressing rage (god forbid, what kind of hypocrite would i be?), but it
wouldn't hurt for him to come out and be a spokesperson for a charity group
against child abusers would it?
i think if there's going to be rage in music, it should focus on resolving
it, not keep repeating itself endlessly. it should reach the end of its
cathartic process (or at least show some signs of getting there after a
while). this part is largely lacking...though not in korn exclusively, mind
you. i'm talking in the vast expanse of music in general.

strumming chords, and Mimi Goese singing..only about 2 mins long..but

For the price I paid I can't bash the 202.but,for everything it can do
there's five it can't.i know i shouldn't expect much out of it.all in all it
works great as an effects box for vocals.

This is from a Dutch show called "2 meter sessies" where artists
perform live and often (not always) acoustic. The radio station
played it before the Moby performance on Pinkpop 1998 as an
introduction to the artist (they played a bit of all artists before they
went on stage) I wish I had the whole "2 meter sessies" show with
Moby, but I only have this one track...
Thanks for your replies on the misogyny thing, I only hope I
haven't started new thread here about women rights.

Oh no, it's not a tour! I would be so shocked if he toured w/ Blink
182! Ohmygod! No, in Phx he's having a show (being put on by The Edge
in Phx) w/ Blink and 311. Uh, ick. I'm soo not a fan of 311 or Blink.
But yeah, so that's just a phx thing as far as I know. If he plays w/
those bands in another city, it's a co-inky-dink I'm sure.

YES! Grr.. People are all wondering what's happening to the moral and
ethical values of the world.. Well duh! You have dumb asses like them
promoting male assholeness, women subordiantion, and all the things that
moral values are supposed to go against and people look up to them.... And
you know, within a year, they're all going to be hasbeens or dead from drug
overdose.. so what's the point of looking up to such losers? I have to
admit, of the above listed, I like Kid Rock the best... I think it's cuz he
has a personal midget..

girls go along with it because they think they're supposed too... But excuse
me, poll for the girls ~ Would you actually want to date Fred Durst or Kid
Rock? I don't think so.. I would smack both of their faces so fast.... Just
because they have women issues does not mean they have to mold the world to
be as messed as they are... And MTV! Don't even get me started... Lil' Kim
at the VMAs was terrible and a result of the gangsta rap and asshole rock
taking over the ideals of those intergrated into the pop culture... Think
how lovely the world would be if Moby ruled the world?

I know they aren't exactly saying "Hey, this is stupid. Don't act like a putz!"
And I think they should account for what they're saying because as recording
artists, they have a responsibility to do so.
I mean, there are some things that come under personal taste and others that are
just violent, racist etc. depictions of what these ppl do/have done/or know of
someone doing. I would probably say "Show me your tits!" too if I were a rock
star, Hell, I say it now. But I'm a woman and confortable w/ my own mamaries and
I don't mind making fun here and there. It's possible to say that in good fun
but then again, it's possible for a jock to say it and mean that it's a prelude
to date rape. So I guess that's iffy too eh?
But really, there are things you say on stage and let ppl know it's in good fun
and then there's you being a responsible artist and saying "Here's the dealio,
I'm just painting a picture but this isn't Simon says, ok?"
