um...while technically electronic, fatboy slim is to electronic music what mc
hammer was to rap. his incredibly weak bubblegum techno tracks are not at all
welcome on my ghettoblaster. (note to all fatboy slim fans--i enjoyed 'right
here, right now', so remember there is good in everything. please don't flame me)
yeah, i'm new.

Ok, I know that I just asked about the paper topic about techno, but I
think it may be too hard to write about techno as much as I need to. So,
thanks to all of you guys, I have (Tentativly) decided to write it about
something about is vegetarian/vegan really the right way to live or not.
As in healthy for the body, not for the cows. So, I was just wondering,
if all of you people who are into this topic so much more than I am
could give me any info as to where I can get some links to sites or pick
up books that would be awesome. But, if anyone can actually tell me that
I can find enough info for the techno paper I can switch back. Thanks a
lot. Later.

Is this the 'little idiot' character?
I thought the one one on the 'little idiot' CD that came
with AR was the little idiot. Perhaps Moby has created
a whole cartoon family of little idiots :)... Anyway, the same
cartoon as on the WDMHFSB single is also on the Bring
Back My Happiness single.

Not 'badly'! just at a lower bitrate (96 kbs) since this song
has almost no high frequencies it sounds just as good at
96 kbs as on 128 kbs. And why waste precious disc space?

news, they had the addition of gotmerch.com that has moby stuff... They have
the cutest little idiot shirt, not to mention stuff from the Tick (glee!)
curious George, space ghost for those who like the show, and Beck, plus tons
others.... Life is good once more.

I think Moby drawed the little idiot himself. I have tons of signed stuff
where he drew some idiots for me. They are so cute :)

So you think he'll be bankrupt destitute in in a year? Hrmph, I think that will be
most of the artists that are around now. But not namely Fatboy. My guesses are Limp
B, Kid R and so on. The ppl who listen to their kind of music most likely listned to
Hammer and Vanilla Ice and those are the unforgiving fans. That's my prediction.
But personally, I kinda lika old Vanilla Ice and Hammer. It's interesting. Not to
say they were wonderful, serious artists but it's nice to look back to less than ten
years ago and remember what rap was like before 'gangsta' rap took over. It's nice
to remember that there were rap songs that weren't totally offensive all the time.
But those are pretty much days gone by. Then it was a rarity for nasty songs/artist
air play and now it's a rarity that non gangsta rappers are getting air play. But I
don't hate gagsta rap, don't get me wrong. I just think it's pretty unhealthy stuff
that goes along w/ my Limp B, Kid R rants from a few days ago.
OT, I know.

I'm pretty sure that the little idiot (i hope that i am thinking of the right
thing) is defineatly a moby creation. I got to meet him at edgefest here in MN,
and he was signing autographs and things, and the way that he signed them was
that he drew the little guy, and put an m by it.

I personally like Fatboy.. True I'm incredibly sick of Funk Soul Brother
(overplay ne 1?) but he has some other cool tunes.. And he's nothing like
Hammer and Ice.. All the proof you need is in the Praise You video. I have
never laughed so hard at a music video my entire life. He's not pretenious
at all, and he's pretty much out of the public spotlight considering his
popularity. I like him. He's different. And fun. If he makes 1 more and
then disappears to familial bliss, who are we to judge? He's made his
contribution to the music world and stopped before he becomes unwelcome.
Don't you wish we could say that about Vanilla Ice? Talk about most unwanted
comeback. Sorry for rambling.

ah, they'll make their money and disappear like most of the mainstream...and
for fatboy in particular...he was popular mostly because of that "long way
baby" song. and let's face it, it doesn't take a genius to sample somebody
else, filter it, speed it up and slow it down while playing a record in the
backround.
that's a big problem with todays music. not enough creativity, and bands
willing to just sample what they need, push a button and claim they "made" a
song.
and with djs...well, i don't know. i've met a few in my day, some really
great ones (some awesome ones that'll never make it), but it just seems like
the majority get this whole ego trip when they put a "dj" in front of their
name. face it man, you're only putting a vinyl disk somebody else made on a
turntable, moving your wrist around and turning a knob or two. yes, i've
heard some good drum beats from djs, but how many actually use a drum
machine and create the beats? on a side note, i've never heard a dj use
anything other than the homogenous 4/4 or 2/4 tempo...boom-tss boom-tss
boom-tss boom-tss...
and if you've ever looked at the "techno compilation" section in a store,
you'll know what i'm talking about when i say i'm sick of unknown djs
putting out a million crappy cds that clog the section and make it hard to
find *good* techno. please god make them stop! if you spin, and you spin
well, spin in a club, and stay there! chances are you'll make more money
than if you made a cd...
i've got about a billion other things to say, and chances are this'll become
quite the controversial post...but i'll leave it at this for right now cuz i
gotta go to work.
never uses presets-in fact immediately erases them,
