Pea, Custom Bitches, and the Anti-Stardom Vibe - An Interview by Damien M.

What the fuck is up with Len. Beyond having crappy music, they get all
pissed because Moby didn't want a cigarrette? Jeezus... Just because HE
hasn't sold out to be perky happy music, does mean they have to dis him.

Well, I'm not going to diss Len ONLY because of the fact that they are a
band, and trying to make it. But, because of a ciggerette? Moby acting "I'm
too good for you"? It has to go deeper..... I would never expect that of
him.... Nor hearing of it!

What bugged me most about the article was the author letting his own bias against Moby show. The Len guy is certainly entitled to his own opinion, but the reporter should know better. This isn't the worst that I've seen Moby trashed though. On the moby.org site there's an archive of an infamous 1993-ish thread on alt.rave (or something to that effect) that is absolutely brutal. Moby himself participates in the fray.

I don't think it was Moby acting like that. It just sometimes how people
misread each other. I think Len might be kinda JEALOUS because Mr. Moby
knows what he's about and has a moral code of ethics. i'm assuming that's he
a non-smoker. am I wrong? Because as a non-smoker I kinda take offense when
people smoke around me without even the slightest consideration. I mean its
my lungs, I don't smoke for a reason (that hole in throat thing is just to
scary) and I don't need someone else polluting them for me. It's rude. So I
can see why if Moby happened to be in a bad mood, and some dick head 1 hit
wonder bad-ass wannabe offered me a cigarrette, I'd be a little pissed too.
But that's enough.

I'm sorry to tell all of you that this is a false listing....
I also tried to order it here months ago and after being in the
'On Order' status for a month I (obviously) got the message that:
"This title is currently out of print/stock, but we keep it listed in case
it gets re-issued again"
Which of course is a lame excuse for not updating your catalog...
However, I have been able to locate one since and I bought it for only
$ 19.00 which is the regular price for a CD where I live.
Oh, and Steve, you mixed up the titles of the 2 b-sides of WDMHFSB :)
