Subject: (mobility) few questions
K ~ since I don't belong to the over twenty Moby CD club (yet ne ways) I have
a few quick questions that some of you highly knowlegeble can answer. I
noticed on E-bay there's mad bidding on a 2cd version of Everything is Wrong.
Is that the same as the Import mixes and remixes set or is it entirely
different? Aannndd for those of you who saw him live recently (and I am
extremely jealous of that fact) did Lo-Fidelity Allstars open for him? If
they did I hate you all. Grr. K sorry to subject you to my probably really
stupid question and venting.

Subject: (mobility) Thanks 2 Covers
I'm about 3 weeks behind in reading from the list, but I decided to do a
search for "Thanks 2" today, to see if there's any progress, and what do I
see, but a few requests for the cover page. I thought I'd sent the new URL
to the list, but here it is: http://camus.its.anderson.edu/~ade/mobility/
They shut down the server that it was on previously, so I had to move it,
but all the images that had been submitted are still there. As far as
voting for them, I was supposed to set that up once a deadline was set.
Well, sometime last year Nov. 26th was set, but then that got pushed back
to an unspecified date. Then someone said something about June of this
year once talk about the project had gone down to a minimum for a few
months. And now, I'm not sure if the deadline is still open or has passed,
or whatever. So anyway, I wasn't going to have everyone vote and then get
new entries and have to have everyone vote again, and so on.
Note to everyone who submitted a cover: please make sure you have an
original, 'cause all I have are gifs and jpgs that are shrunk, and probably
wouldn't work well when used in production. And I don't want your
originals either--just hold on to them until a cover is chosen, then I'm
assuming Greg will take care of all that.
Everyone else, bear with me too if we're talking about Thanks 2. Ever
since "Play" came out, it seems like traffic on this list has increased
tenfold and it's been hell to catch up.
Peace

Subject: (mobility) A belated Roxy review
Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I regret very much that I didn't see any of you guys (I had a camera and everything for the occasion--a camera that was temporarily confiscated by the good folks at the Roxy). Anyhoo, this was the third time this year that I've seen Mr. Moby, and it was by far the best. I was about seven feet from the stage (a good thing for a wee person like myself) and I loved just about every minute of it. I was especially glad that he did a little bit of "When It's Cold I'd Like to Die." The only part I wasn't absolutely thrilled with was "Run On." I guess I like the album version a lot more, I don't think that Moby's voice really works as well with that song as it does w/ others. I was also surrounded on all sides by folks who *did* *not* *move* *at* *all.* It was kinda disconcerting. Everyone else that I could see near the stage was into it. All in all, it was a sexy good time.

Subject: (mobility) read me----
hello!
im dionne, 21, from new orleans, but living in manchester. im new to the list.
ok--i have questions and statements.
when was moby on letterman? what did he perform? is he getting big in the states?
ok. i went to his show last sunday at the university and it wqas incredible. ive never seen so much energy from one person before, and it was great. are those bongos on stage? he played them so fast! the lights were amazing, and added to the intensity of the atmosphere.
i loved the show so much we decided to see it again in london. it was sold out, but we bought tickets from a guy outside. this venue seemed smaller, but it had a balcony all around the stage. it was just as passionate and energetic as the night before. i am now a firm believer that moby is a sexy sexy man.
i was going to fly home to new orleans last thursday for a week b/c its reading week here at the univeristy, so i have no lectures. i could have seen him on halloween! a friend of mine went, so i have to ask him how it went. im sure the lights werent very good b/c its an outdoor stadium, but i have no doubt he played brilliantly.
does anyone know who daniel miller is? hes the head of mute records, and i think i saw him at the show in manchester. i wish i would have gone up to him and found out, but i was too mellowed out to move.
anyway, hello to you all, have a nice day, and if anyone has any questions about the 2 british shows, feel free to ask.
bye!!
dionne
ps--i didnt know echo & the bunnymen were touring the states! i have a ticket to see them in november at the university, and im quite excited. the music is great here, and i never want to go home!!
