See the reason I won't sign a bill like this, despite the fact I'm underage
is that this bill could be twisted. I read something scary in the
government curriculum about "all who stand in the way of teaching
homosexuality must be eliminated">
Now I'm no homophobe or bigot but that scares me. People have a right to
voice their opinions even if they are crude or evil.
Plus, if this means somebody who kills a gay will be treated harder than
somebody who kills a straight? Some would say yes. I mean, some of the gay
rights bills actually show preference to gays over straights and I have a
problem with that, that's a form of prejudice
Not that I'm condoning any of this gay bashing--it's obviously evil
I'm just saying that some of these bills could be misused
No offense to anybody I'm no bigot I'm just pointing this out

This guy reminds me of Mary Bono, Sonny's widow turned congress pin-up girl.
She was on the news questioning some guy about anti-hate crime laws
and she kept saying....
'well...what about the jocks? I mean, those two kids at Columbine were
targeting jocks and anyone who believed in God....what about them? do we
have laws protecting jocks now?
'well, do we?'

Anyway, Mute did the video to try to increase sales even more because this is the best chgance Moby had in the UK top 40, the song is still played on the radio so much, so many records have been sold. The outlet of Our Price ran out of CD1 for goodness sake! Shops ( apart from the evil chart fixers Woolworths) had Moby displays. ( don't think Woolworths sold it, well, Mute didn't give them money) Moby came to number 16, that is so fucking cool, so many CDs must have been sold ;)

You actually READ the "scary government curriculum"? Seriously, no such
thing exists. And even if it did, it certainly would not contain such a
Goebel-esque phrase sanctioning the elimination of political opponents. As a
person who is both gay and works in education, I can tell you that national
teacher education accreditation standards do expend a lot of energy
preparing teachers to teach students respect for qualities in others that
make them different for each other. The point is to AVOID another Columbine.
Not cause one.

Hmm. Yes. Gay rights bills aim to set us in a more advantageous position
than straights. Oh wait a minute! I forgot! you guys can already marry the
people you love, get tax and insurance benefits for being together, and
don't have to worry about losing your job or where you live because of who
you're attracted to. Plain and simple -- Gays and lesbians ARE discriminated
against. That is wrong. Laws need to be enacted to protect those civil
rights.
All of this to say, that, even as a gay man, I still oppose "hate crime"
legislation. We already have laws protecting people from violent crimes and,
in most cases, discrimination. To make the a crime more severely punishable
because you don't like someone sets a dangerous legal precendent. It creates
a situation where you have to prove hate in order to convict (at least for
the stronger hate crime punishments). I doubt very seriously that hate crime
legislation would've saved Matthew Shepard's life. Nor would it probably
provide for a stricter punishment for his assailants since 1) the one
convicted already has received a very harsh sentence in lieu Colorado's lack
of hate crime laws, and 2) a good defense attorney could argue the
assailant's motivation was robbery, not hate, since the two stole his wallet
and shoes.
These bills could be misused, yes. But let's not fall in to far right-wing
propaganda and say that gays don't need civil protection. After all, even I
would like to marry the person I love one day.

win 95 or win 98, I know that win 98 has regrestore, you can type it at
the dos prompt. It automatically saves reg settings from previous
reboots, and you can roll back to those settings, try it out.

no, they don't have moby shirts. i think moby shirts can be found if you
write moby c/o mute records, they'll probably send you a catalogue.
