Hey! I would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to get my name
off this list. I hate it with a passion! I get a lot of great material, but
most of it's a waste. THanks!

Ok, I forgot to do the Kimby public service announcement. Cloves, much
like ciggerettes can cause a multitude of problems. Cloves can and
WILL make your lungs bleed. I know this because I hung out in a highly
gothic crowd and they smoke A LOT of cloves and yes, I have had friends
wake up coughing blood from chain smoking cloves.
Whenever I do something I know is not good for my body w/ prolonged use,
I do in infrequently as in I don't smoke a pack a day, I don't even
smoke a clove a day and I don't drink a bottle of Everclear or whatever,
like eat a whole pig....you know?
So, just so you know, cloves cause lung bleeding and stuff.
>
> >Aren't you the 13 year old?
You know, cloves or flavored cigs/cigars are *very* popular among young
ppl. This isn't good nessasarily but I'm not saying don't do it. Just
beaware that it's bad for you w/prolonged use and excessive use.
Ok.

My name is Scott, and I am an 18 year old Mby fan. I own copies of Ambient,
Everything Is Wrong, EIW DJ Remix Album, Animal Rights, Rare: The Collected
B-Sides w/ bonus disc Go: The Collected Remixes, That's When I Reach For My
Revolver Remixes, Play, and several bootleg shows. I first heard Moby while
staying with my sister in Boston, Mass, and have since purchased all of the
above cd's and have always kept my eyes open for opportunities to see him
live. Unfortunately, I have only had one chance, the recent Oct. 16 show in
Buffalo (which was unbelievable by the way). I like way too many other types
of bands to list here, so if you are interested, mail me directly at
spnd17@aol.com.

Ciggerettes are nasty. They taste terrible. They just aren't cloves
but, it's better to not smoke or to only smoke cloves accasionally if
you have to but do not smoke them excessively because you will wake up
with a bloody mouth. I know this.
I think they have fiber glass in them in tiny, unseeable peices that is
what cuts up your lungs.
Nothing that you smoke is good for you. But, if you want to do it and
if you're doing it because you like it and not because it's cool to
other ppl then by all means, do it but keep your body in mind...it's the
ONLY one you'll get, unless you believe in re-incarnation, so then it
might be the ONLY human body you get. So don't ruin it!

I have to agree about that DJ. I saw in Buffalo too, and he was terrible!!!
He played very little aside from rap music, and barely even did anything with
that. I mean no disrespect to him as a friend of Moby's, but he really isn't
any good.

I don't get it? Why send it back to the person? It's an odd forward to

I'll one-up you. That email address doesn't even exist. Go figure. I have
to agree with what the list had to say though. I'm not gay, but my sister
and a number of my friends are, and I do not feel that they are any less good
of a person for it. In fact, I respect them more for being able to be open
about this. In the spirit of Moby's beliefs that all humans and animals
deserve equal rights, we should do our part to make stronger laws against
hate crimes in the US.

..i was driving in my friend's car and we were
listening to Moby-moby. i have the same album but i
bought mine in england a while ago. i noticed that
eventhough the case is the same mine is way different.
on his, in the beggining of next is the e, it sounds
like someone is squeaking a squeaky toy whearas mine
is a much harder beat. then in drop the beat mine is
just a totally different mix; you can't even tell
they're saying "drop the beat", it's all chopped up.
acouple of the other songs are just slightly different
mixes too...can anyone shed some light?
..-oh, and going back to the hair conversation, on the
inside there is a picture of moby with hair and it is
funky looking. it just kind of weirds me out to think
about meeting him with hair. it just wouldn't be the
same. i sort of developed a fetish for bald heads now;
if anyone wants to start that support group, i'm all
about it..
for all those Tricky fans, his show was increadible. i
wasn't sure what i thought about the new album, but
now i definately have respect for where they're going.
..my last 2 cents: i think moby should make a country
album. i hate country, but i think it would be cute..

It's not really "English law"... it's more like "English chart rules." You
can put as much of whatever you want on your CD single and sell it, but if
you want it to chart, it has to fit within their rules.
(I got my "Move" promo 12" today. And won a "Hymn" promo 12". :] )

Hi Folks,
I took a good friend of mine to see a band called Citizen King a few weeks
ago for her birthday. They were nice enough to stick around afterwards and talk
with us and let her get autographs and pictures. I talked to their DJ Malcolm
for quite some time. Eventually we got on the subject of Moby and he seemed to
think Moby's music was great. In fact when I asked all the other bandmembers
they loved Moby too.
Ironically enough.... just about a week and a half after that happened, Citizen
King has posted a giant picture of Malcolm and Moby on the front of their web
page
soooo... if you wanna see a nice picture of Moby and Malcolm, head on over to

hey everybody
when i met moby on sunday for the signing before the show, i handed him two
of my favorite cds, "animal rights" (w/limited edition little idiot cd) and
voodoo child/moby "the end of everything". when signing, he said that "the
end of everything" was by far his best and favorite recording, but it will
never see the light of day. he had a fight with elektra records and
subsequently left the label...so the company decided to screw him, and only
made a VERY limited run on these. if anyone has it, consider yourself
lucky! if anyone sees it, BUY IT! it's gotta be worth a fortune (now that
mine's signed, i'm being buried with it).
all that being said, moby definately knows how to pick em, that voodoo child
cd is really his best stuff.

yeah...i was mainly angry that i paid to see moby and i wasn't getting moby.
if i wanted to go to a club, that's where i would have been, dancing up a

I think Moby should do folk music. Not country, but like Jewel and the
non-rap version of Everlast. Write a song about something totally off the
wall and completely random, like razorburn on his forehead. I think that
would be cool.
Incidently, since I mentioned Everlast, I have a new list (kinda off topic
but not really) of the coolest/haunting voices in music today (or that you
listen to). I would have to go for ~ Moby (of course) Everlast, Jane
Siberry, who ever does the vocals for Egnigma and rumor has it that BT has a
fabulous voice (but that's just a rumour I can't prove until I get the new
album which is going to take awhile since I'm going to have to order from
some finnish company. Damn imports.) I know there's more, but I can't think
of them.
And on the drug and alcohol thing ~ Cloves? Uh people, lives are your
friend, and there's more to it then hacking up blood. <Shudder> Uck. Thank
god for those anti-smoking commercials with people talking through their
throats that scared me to death.

Right, it's another meet-up message.
This time, anyone going to the Scala on next Monday? An excuse to say hello

BTW, Moby has done 'country & western' stylee songs before, hasn't he? When
I saw him at a festival just before Animal Rights came out, he was doing a

In this week's Voice there is a rather lengthy feature on some high-society
soiree for what seems to be a makeup company/movie premiere/type-vague-thing,
i dunno. I think it's the same thing someone mentioned before involving
Gwyneth paltrow and Madonna. ANYWAY, apparently part of this thang involved
inviting some "south-of-14th-street" types to the Russian tea Room, including
our mr. moby. He's not mentioned much in the article. He remarks on the
loveliness of the tea room and the loveliness of Simon LeBon's full head of
hair, but there is a large picture of him in a hooded sweatshirt looking
bemused at being in such an opulent setting.

he didn't say really. he just said that it's extremely rare and he was
surprised anybody had it at all (then he explained the whole elektra thing).
>Did he say why he thinks it was his best?
that i couldn't tell you. maybe he did it mostly spur-of-the-moment, with
little thought to creating a structured piece. maybe he just put a lot of
emotion into the songs without really giving thought at all to marketability
and it represents his inner personality the best because of that. this is
all speculation though.
