Well, to add to all the exposure Moby's been getting lately, he was mentioned
on the sitcom Oh Grow Up. (OVerytrying dad trying to be cool with 16 year old
daughter he didn't know about by getting her concert tickets to one of her
favorite artists - Mr. Moby) It's a crappy show and I don't know if that's
the type of place he wants to be represented on. But it's cool that he's
getting exposure which he deserves. Sadly though, if he becomes to much more
popular he might just enter intot he mainstream world which means I would
like a mainstream artist (which isn't bad necessarily) but I just have always
like the idea of being one of the enlightened few who knew the true genius of
Moby. Damn, now I might just have to be one of the masses.

i'm a little tired of everything is wrong.
and i know i'm gonna get killed for this... but ... i got play a little
while ago, not too long ago... and i think it's the worst moby album i
have heard yet :P i wish it were more hard rock or techno and not so
hip hop/trip hop/blues/pop flavored.

this is the best rock album i have ever heard. i usually make fun of
rock music, saying how unoriginal it has become nowadays, etc. but
moby's animal rights was surprisingly an amazing album! his vocals are
stunning.

this interests me. can you tell me some more about Mimi Goese. i have been
trying to get some information about her since i heard Into The Blue, but
without any success. (besides that she lives in moby's neighbourhood, and
even this info is 4 years old :/ )
and what is this album about. what kind of music. i like mimi's voice very
much, just like julie cruise from angelo badalamenti's works for d.lynch.
these two vocalists left a big big impression in me, so i hunger for some
more of their works. so you say 'soak' is the album ? hm... i'll try...
any tips, infos ?

i know, that it is usual to put several versions of the same video into air,
but is this the video with moby and the next guy, whom moby makes different
conditions to dance in, like wind, water, fire... (maybe the fifth element
too, now that mila jovovich got divorced with luc besson ;) ).
i also heard about some video with moby and a dog walking thru streets.

is there any video to WDMHFSB ?

well, i wouldn't necessarily call it a bad thing to have moby's ideals and
music in the mainstream. mainstream needs morals, ethics and a "rock star"
that WON'T put out to a groupie after a show (unless it's a hug or a
handshake). and if you follow a moby timeline, it seems to be his job to
try to alienate his fans every now and then by doing the completely
unexpected. moby simply won't be put in a genre, even if he does become
super famous. he's a lot like david bowie in that respect. if he does
something we as fans don't like, well, there's plenty of other stuff he's
done.
but damned if i don't like being one of the few, the proud, the moby fans.

Subject: (mobility) please help: Realaudio?
Sorry for the off topic email, but I have a problem
and perhaps one of you can help me out (Eric Goldberg perhaps?)
I want to let people stream audio from my GeoCities (Shitties)
website, I encoded them for a 28K modem with music quality
(20.7 Kbs) with "Realproducer Plus G2" (should be a good program)
Here's what that .rm file does when I click the link to it:
- - It starts to download (not stream!!) to my /temp directory
- - from there on it starts to play (from my harddisk!!) untill 2/3 of the
file
- - then it stops and I get the message "net congestion" and the realplayer
SAYS it starts buffering, but it ISN'T !! It now completely stops...
Is this a known problem of the GeoCities server?
Or should I make my realaudio file a 16.0 kbs SureStream one?
check for yourself: www.geocities.com/animal_sight/moby/sound.htm
There are some cool clips of VERY rare moby songs/remixes.

cool, my dad listens to NPR a lot, he buys things and
he's obsessed with Car Talk (gaaaakk...)
right, anyway i had a very silly thought.
okay see Moby plays live and he's playing "thousand"
at the end and he gets his shirt off and maybe
sumthing else if yr lucky and he goes on top of his
keyboard and starts raising his arms, and then
somebody DROWNS HIM IN SILLY
STRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
yes i know it would totally ruin the moment. but ya
gotta admit, that would bu quite silly!!!!!
i'm sure Moby would laugh too, he'd just crack up and
then get the guy who did it to come up front and take
his clothes off and let people shoot him with silly
string and shit! that would rock!!!!!!!!!!!!
"right, stop that. it's silly." Monty Python (graham
chapman i believe)

is quite good, anybody else heard it? its called "The

I already emailed Bart but just a small note for those interested in real
audio.
you dont really need a RealServer to stream audio.
You just wont be able to stream it off a server.
You can still do what I used to do, which is called
"http stream".
Of course there are more benefits to the server, which i now use,
but thankfully because my web hosting service includes it.
So its still possible, just check out the depths of the real audio
help pages and you should find it. (thats how i did it)

Man, I don't mean to insult you but that sounds like one hell of a
repressed sexual fantasy! I mean, man, that's kinky. But I wouldn't
mind drounding Moby's naked body in silly string or whatever edible
household items I could find but that's not important.
We should start a second list about weird fetishes/fantasies involving
Moby and get therapists to consul us and set us on the straight and
narrow. (Wait, I may be straight but I'm not narrow...no, that's not
right!)
