actually, i take that back....
i don't think moby is coming to michigan at all. i found out that the venue
he is supposedly playing at is located in cincinnati, ohio not michigan. i
don't know why ticketmaster has it listed under MI... that totally threw me
off...
anyways, for the fortunate people who live near cincinnati ... he'll be
playing at electra on october 21st at 8pm and tickets are $15 and 97X is
sponsoring it. (http://www.woxy97x.com)

Nope, it has a standard black sleeve (with hole in the middle) like
all 12"s on the German Intercord label.
Speaking of German Moby releases, I got the "Move - the mixes" CD
yesterday. Strange mix, that 'Dj Kid Paul Mix', it's a great techno/trance
track, but it has hardly got anything to do with the song Move... It has
no vocal samples at all and the only Move related sample is the percussion
from the Sub Version of Move and a very free interpretation of the chords
from Move (with a completely different synth sound...)
Whooohooo, I finally have Move (Electro Mix)! This is one of my favourite
Moby tracks EVER!
Also, check out my Moby collectors website at
http://www.geocities.com/animal_sight/
it has an updated discography and remixes section and lots of other stuff.
Please note that this site is still under construction, so there will be a
couple
of empty pages and false links....

Hi everyone.
Since everyone seems to be enjoying posting their top tens.... I thougt you
might as well get something more tangible for your trouble.
Sooooooooooooooooooo... take your top ten lists and head over to
rollingstone.com. TDK is having some kind of artist of the decade contest and
they're giving out prizes for top ten lists
this is what they said in the email ------------
TDK and RollingStone.com invite you to tell
us your choice of the Artist of The Decade
and the 10 Best Songs of the 1990s, and
you could win the grand prize, which
includes a Harmon Kardon CDR 2-CD
recorder, a ten-pack of TDK CD-Twin-R
blank CDs and a $150 CD shopping spree!
I hope this doesn't sound too much like an advertisement, because i despise
rolling stone. Good luck everyone. I hope someone from the list gets the
prize!

While I have a strange feeling we just did this list like a month ago, (I'm
probably wrong, I'm on too many damn mailing lists), I'm going to jump in
anyway cause you all know I can't resist
top 10 CD's of ALL TIME (no particular order...ohh and it's actually my top
15, I couldn't limit to 10)
Velvet Underground and Nico
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Prince - The Hits/B-Sides
Moby - Play
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Tender Prey
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen...
Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
R.E.M. - Fables of the Reconstruction
The Cure - Pornography
Swans - Swans are Dead
The Pixies - Death to the Pixies
Einsturzende Neubauten - Ende Neu
David Bowie - Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville
It'd be different any other day...but right now that seems the most
essential list...

Subject: (mobility) Animal Rights
The one thing that strikes me as odd with these top album lists is that
while Everything Is Wrong and Play are often listed near the top Animal
Rights is rarely mentioned.
Animal Rights is probably my favorite CD of all time. When I first heard it
honestly I didn't like/get it. But the more I listened to it the more it
grew on me, and the reason I didnt like it is now what I love most. NO
music, except for maybe Holst and David Holsinger and Brahm, has played
with my emotions the way Moby does with that disc... from calm to
irritation to anger to exhaustion to rage and over and over, this might be
the only modern music that HAS to be listened to as an album without
skipping around to get the whole affect. There are alot of albums with
great songs on it, but for me Animal Rights will always remain one of the
most complete albums as a whole.
Just my $0.08 (inflation),

have yet to purchase either single and am wondering if the 2nd cd is worth

Did anyone get to go to Coachella over the past weekend? How long did
Moby play? Was the crowd into it? What was the set list? Was it bright
outside or was it at night?

i love Animal Rights. i love listening to it in its
entirety from beginning to end (US version) over and
over again.
i dunno what anyone else will think of this, BUT... to
me, the greatest thing about moby's music is its
honesty. his honesty. ...or at least what i perceive
to be his emotional integrity. almost every track,
and specifically, EVERY single track on AR is
beautiful not just because it "sounds" good, but
rather because i know that it is coming from deep down
inside someone else and hitting that same note (or a
similar one) in me somewhere.
i dont understand how anyone who has ever been in love
could listen to AR and not be moved.
defintiely on MY top ten list.
