dood, i dont know where youre getting this from.. i see nothing about aphex
at all... when i did a search, the last article on him was form june... last
i heard, Richard had about 300 songs in his archive, fill out his record
deal with WARP, and go to a different label or concentrate on his own label
Rephlex.

Subject: (mobility) Aphex indeed says he is quitting
Aphex indeed says he is quitting, but he always says crazy stuff like
that, here is the article about it:
APHEX CAN'T BE BOTHERED WITH MUSIC ANYMORE
APHEX TWIN has stated he is to quit the music
industry and that people will have to "wait 'til he's dead"
to hear his next album.
In a recent interview, Aphex, real name Richard James,
said he was stepping out of the limelight to concentrate
on making a short film and a feature film with Chris
Cunningham, the director behind his award-winning
'Come To Daddy' and 'Windowlicker' videos.
Insisting that the interview would be his last, he
said: "It (the new album) will be out in about five years'
time, if at all. What about my fans? They'll have to wait '
til I'm dead - if I haven't taken all my tapes to the grave
with me! It's too distracting when you release your
music - you can't be honest. Sometimes you've got
to duck out completely."
He continued that the only possible forthcoming release
from him was an old-skool selection that he might be
releasing through his own label, Rephlex, on DAT.
"If you want to release it, just send me half the money.
Or if you want to copy it for your mates, send me some
money if you can be arsed. I might send you some
new tracks," he said.
James said that Warp, the label he is signed to, were
resigned to his decision to retire from music.
"Nobody bothers hassling me any more. They know
what I'm like. I don't want to have to listen to what other
people have to say... I don't have to do anything
I don't want to do."
But Warp laughed off his threats saying that Aphex
was just being typically wayward.
A spokesperson told NME: "It's the same thing he always
says. Richard is just Richard, he says whatever he wants.
The last NME interview he did was supposed to be his
last ever interview too.
"Then again he really might turn round and say he
won't do anything ever again!"

Well, I can't download it now for some reason, but Deep Forest is one of the
best groups of the 90s, I think...
They're what got me into electronic music anyway, from hearing them on my
friends' Pure Moods (which is actually a good album, despite the annoying
new age connotations. it pisses me off that ambient music like Steve Roach
is called new age when really it's not tied up with the philosophy).
Uh, I guess that's irrelevant so
Where can I find an mp3 of the alt.quiet.version.hymn or whatever? I heard a
sample of it and it sounded good.

Subject: (mobility) Moby findings
Went to a Record & CD fair today, Whooooohoooo, I sould do that more often!
Here's what Moby stuff I bought:
Moby - Next is The E (US 12" on the instinct label, VERY rare here in
Europe!)
Orbital - Mutations (Ultra rare CD single with Moby remix!!)
Michael Jackson - Who Is It (CD with 2 sublime Moby remixes!)
Moby - Revolver (UK 2 track 12")
Dj Cake - Sugar Baby (UK 12")
Lopez - Emptiness (UK 12")
Voodoo Child - Higher (UK 12")
Moby - Into The Blue (the rare 4 track export-only CDMUTE179)
Moby - Some weird 'Come On Baby' 3 track promo(?) CD which
has the same tracks as CD2 of the 2CD box of Come On Baby
no inserts, just the CD with a promo sticker on the case...
And last but not least a really weird completely missprinted 'Go' CD single.
A description:
==============================
missprint 1: the front: Moby is written as "Mob9" in big block letters.
- ------------------------------------------------------
missprint 2: the tracks:
there are 3 tracks listed on the back of the cardbord CD cover:
1 - Go (Rainforest Mix)
2 - Go (Video Mix)
3 - Go (Analog Mix)
Nothing special, you would say... but these are the tracks that really
are on the CD (and yes, the sleeve IS for this CD, the catalog #s match!)
1 - Go (Analog Mix)
2 - Go (Nighttime Mix)
3 - Go (Soundtrack Mix)
Yes, THE nighttime mix that I used to think was only on 2 ultra rare Go 12"s
(EX-229 and FOOT15R)
===============================
Rare? you betcha! but I saw this CD a few weeks ago on eBay,
I didn't bid on it because I already had all the mixes listed on the cover.
So keep your eyes open for it! cat# = 146.079.3 on Outher Rhythm/BITE label
It is a Dutch release which (like many Dutch Moby singles) is marketed and
distributed by CNR.
I now have ALL the versions of Go on official releases! Whoohoo!
At the fair I also saw a German radio promo of Bring Back My Happiness
in a jewel case (not listed in moby.org's discography!) and the EIW
interview
promo CD, but I didn't have enough money :( Bleh! Oh well, the next fair is
on
December the 11th, perhaps I can look for something for you guys?
The price for a CD single there is about $7.50 (a very normal price for a CD
single in the Netherlands) and Moby 12"s vary from $8.00 to $20.00 depending
how rare they are.

I don't think so at all. It doesn't help that
most people don't understand the words, but if
you look for the intricate elements of her music,
really blowing it apart and listening to it...
you start to see the creativity.
In fact, I can't wait for her new album...

I just returned from my friend, he's a DJ and he always packs me up with
moby cds, because he keeps buing it and ... he keeps notliking it. he's
into detroit techno and the darker the better, so he's the richest source
for my moby maxis, because of my money. (better said : no money). BUT->
- -> i found a MixMag cd in his collection, that has Sven Vaeth and Moby
playing each one about 5 songs. Moby plays there a song named "C3 BELLS".
i went crazy what for a song is that, haven't heard that before, stopped
my friends favourite JeffMills in the player, put in this one and BANG!
it's just Myopia with another name. why ?
i understand why Next Is The E became I Feel It. But why this, what does myopia
mean ?
he plays then I Feel It(intro) and this is also worth mentioning, it's a
typical moby ambient, but toooo short.
my friend refused to give me this cd, because of sven vaeth, so i have to break
in into two pieces and keep the moby one.
anyone have some tips, how the songs on a cd are organized. i gues they come in
a spiral from centre to out, so i should keep the outer part :)
he also gave me Rare+Go mixes, Run On (+ extended), Honey and BodyRock.
i had no time to hear it, but i'm looking forward to the Bsidetracks, there's
so many of them!
thanx moby for all.

i often don't even know the albums you people mention as your favourite,
it's a kind of good resource for albums i could check out. here's mine top N,
(for N from 1 to unknown, because i don't know how many of them i remember)
the order plays no role.
depeche mode - songs of faith and devotion
moby - everything is wrong
moby - animal rights + little idiot
marusha - wir
u2 - zooropa
rem - automatic for the people
hair - o.s.t.
braveheart - o.s.t.
aliens - o.s.t.
depeche mode - violator.
and there's one more thing i have to comment. The orchestra version of God
moving over the face of the waters. it must be amazing !!! when i heard it
first, i thought i was recorded with an orchestra, but then i got more into
moby and realized, that he makes his song on his own, mostly, so this sounds
like a BIIIIG event, GMOTFOTW in a BIIIIG concerts hall with a BIIIIG
orchestra. there are more tracks worth it, probably most of his ambient ones,
like EIW, HYMN, or WALNUT ( if i hit the right name from little idiot cd),
but GMOTFOTW is the proper one, with the divine big drum in the background.
maybe even the HEAT mix, which is even better.
can you imagine this: moby in a smoking, standing in front of the orchestra,
mimi goese stands in a long snow-white robe in the middle of it, and they play
When It's Cold I'd Like To Die, Into The Blue etc. this gives me goosebumps.
