such as? I have to call you on this one, you are absolutely wrong. Proofs
and Theorums are universal--the only thing that is subjective is the basis
of number systems(ie binary, base ten, hexedecimal)--and amazingly, and
beautifully, if you translate a number, say a prime into another system, its
still... PRIME!!! isn't that cool? Nature speaks the language of
mathematics, all principles are the same, whether here on our little planet
or millions of light years away on alpha centari. Not only that but
mathematics is the only form of knowledge that can guarantee a 100% answer;
and failing this, it can tell us within what kind of range we are correct,
95%; 60%; whatever.

"Acceptance" is nothing more than a synonym for belief; ie whether we choose
to accept something is equal to whether we choose to believe it or not...
Just because someone doesn't accept it doesn't mean it's not objective or
true. As a simple example look at pre-Columbus history; many didn't
accept/believe the world was round, that doesn't mean that it was flat does
it? You could very well have the secret of life as you claim, brought about
in an objective manner; the disbelief of others doesn't invalidate it(it's
objectivity or Truth). BTW: *I* have the secret of life, not you.
>Wouldn't any complex idea, by it's very nature,
>involve all sorts of interpretation?
not necessarily; with refinement and clarification, a q/a session, all
doubts could be silenced; Room for interpretation comes not by the
complexity of the idea, but by the misunderstandings of others or the lack
of clarity on the author's part.

Moby fans...
According to the Sessions at West 54th website, Moby will NOT be on the show
in October. =(
Hopefully November? Anyone have the inside track?
Oh, I've got a picture of me and Moby from the St. Louis show. It's a wee
bit blurry, but it's obviously Moby, and it's obviously me... (like anyone
on here but Rob knows what I look like... =) Perhaps Adobe can clear it up
for me...
If there's a Moby page that wants it, let me know... Daniel, perhaps?
Take care...

hi mo-babes,
i assume at least some of you have read '1984' by george orwell. he built
in that book a society, where people are controled by 'the big brother'.
one of the scariest ideas those in power in that society had invented was
will AND ability to control thoughts. it's done by creating new language,
where amount of words is limited, f.e. you don't need any more word 'bad',
when you can say -good. very bad is --good, very good is +good and so on.
the point is: one cannot think without words. if you don't have word for,
say, fucked up political situation, or say, raping, you don't comprehend
it. it doesn't occur in your understanding. something just happens, you
may feel bad, but if you're not able to relate that odd feeling (here:bad)
anywhere in your experience, in your history and so in your mind, you're
somewhat powerless to do anything about it.
also: theory of metaphoras claims that one cannot think abstract things
without using concrete methaphoras. and it claims, that logic/nature of
given/chosen metaphora moves also to that abstraction you're depicitioning
with that metaphora to yourself. so: if you descripe that life's on the
fast line it affects your way of living, and it may differ a lot from your
friends way of living who tells that life's a rollcoaster. why,
vehicles and possibilites of action of the motorway differ from those of
said rollcoaster.
english is defenitely not my mothertongue, but i read and write in english
and while i do, i also think in english. the fact that my vocabulary is
way much smaller than those who speak english as a first language, makes
me weaker, even stupid, to express my ideas. it's also the reason why i
STATE instead of buying studiotime by softening. i don't know words
enough to soften. but, anyway, although i wrote sort of 'truth' about how
essential and crusial it is to know and use words for to be able to
handle complex conseptions i'm also assuming i'm wrong. my (as well as
others) statements are still just opinions, just ideas. it won't harm
anyone to think about something odd. you know the words to do it :).
i find it hard to get moby-related. i cannot do nothing else but listen.

What the hell does any of this crap have to do with Moby? I dont need to hear
about childhood memories, anybody's insecurities, or any other bullshit that
you are in therapy for. If you're gonna write about stuff like this, either
somehow tie it into Moby, or email each other personally so my mailbox
doesn't have 50 messages about shit that is totally irrelevant to 95% of the
people on this list.
Now, to relate this to Moby: Has anyone heard the DJ Cake CD and do you have
any suggestions where to find it?
