I'm not a big fan of the Roxy; so I'm kinda sad that that's where it is,
but whatever it's Moby. The $23 however, is REALLY making me sad. My
friend said something about trying to get us on a guestlist or whatever,
but thatll probably only knock the price down to $20, if she even comes
through. *sigh*. Because it's Moby, it's different, it's worth
shelling out the bucks to see him. I hope he walks around before/after
so that we can say hello to him. I'm glad someone else from mobility is
going!

i own:
Moby - Play
Moby - Animal Rights (US,no little idiot)
Moby - Everything is Wrong Mixed & Remixed 2CD
Voodoo Child - Higher
when i was 16yrs old, i was subscribing to the mail
order CD service BMG. they had "everything is wrong"
as a new electronic release or something like that. i
ordered it. i got it. i loved it. it was stolen one
week after i got it. i still haven't re-purchased it.
(notice it is NOT in the list of things i own.) i get
bitter about things like that.
this summer i was able to go to 3 moby shows. need i
really say that those shows are now among the best
i've been to? i loved the techno. animal rights is my
favorite my album. play is, to me, the best album of
1999. i am a big fan.
i met moby at a festival. the festival had no
vegetarian food available. i am vegan. i was hungry.
i asked moby if he could hook me up with some food. he
gave me an armful of snacks from inside his bus. i
think he is a great guy.

Hi Everyone.
Anyone else like me who has just seen Moby for the first time, were surprised
how much energy this man has on stage.
When we first saw him two hours before he went on stage and we went up to
talk to him, he appeared such a quiet and thoughtful chap.
On stage what a difference. He paced up and down like a caged animal, moving
his keyboards this way and that. He jumped on his keyboards when he wasn't
moving it around the stage (as you do!). He walked backwards forwards, tried
to play every instrument on stage and did a good comedy routine with the
audience.
This bloke is just amazing!

Hey all, I heard an interview with Moby a while ago about this and he sounds
pretty mellow about the whole thing:
"I was at a friend's house a couple weeks ago, and I don't watch too much TV
myself, but her roomate had the television on. And suddenly I heard my song
and I looked up and there's this white background and this woman I've never
seen before dancing. (short pause) I was like, this is kind of odd. And I
just looked around to make sure that I wasn't having some sort of like
hallucinatory flashback. And at the end they just had the little, you know,
the little tag for 'Dharma & Greg'. And I thought to myself, wow, well, what
an interesting television commercial and I was kind of excited to be involved
in it.
"Because I don't watch TV, I've never actually seen the show. I hope it's
good. I hope it's not about like child prostitution snuff films or
something. But I assume that it's not. I assume that it's wholesome prime
time fare."
Ha ha, that guy cracks me up. I knew that show had a dark&twisted
under-belly!!!
Love&salsa,

PS: Welcome DJ Pagan (your extensive collection makes me sick -I am
considering once again selling body parts on the black market cause I am so
poor- but thanks for the tips :), Robyn (hey we were all new Moby fans at one
point) and Adam (armful of snax? wow, that's so cool of him!)

but is anyone going to the Earthdance in SF? If so, email me...

Welcome to all new members!
Moby will be performing in "De Melkweg" in Amsterdam, Holland tomorrow.
The thing is, I can't go!! But the good thing is that Kink FM is going to
broadcast
his show on the radio LIVE! Guess who is going to record it on MD!
Now I can still pretend I'm there :)
I'm probably one of the few Mobility members who has never been at
a Moby show, I hope he will come back to the Netherlands in the future.

Do you really think you are one of the few members of mobility to see
Moby perform? I wonder if that's true. I know this question has been
asked and answered before, but just how many members does Mobility have?
How many of us have seen him live? How many of us have met him? These
are the burning questions that annoy me at 10 of 5 on a Friday, when my
head is fried and wanders...no, not really. um, I'm going to start my
weekend now, I think I need a vacation.

Bodyrock was being used in a commercial for Darma and Greg?

The NYU-Irving Plaza show was great. The crowd was really into it (probably
part of it was due to the fact that we only paid $5 and we had all just
recently re-located to the big city, but no matter). This being my first
Moby show, I was struck by how durned nice he was on stage (he lamented the
fact that a big rich school like NYU couldn't spring to get us all water, and
he was sorry he couldn't share his). He did three encores, explaining that
he wasn't used to doing that many so he apologized if he just "fucked around"
for awhile. I thought that it was great of him to do a show like that for
what was probably a rather small fee.

I was wearing a khaki, skinny-fit, black ringer, 'Moby -

It must be different in England. NO ONE in the states wants to be THAT guy
who wears an artists tshirt to said artist's concert. I don't know if it's
pretentions, geeky, or just a bit too Japanese, but no one around here would
do such a thing. I guess in the grand scheme of things, it's not such a
social faus pas. But it is like screaming, "I'm a Fan! I'm a Fan!"
