Holy shit...someone with my last name! How random is that. Don't think we're
related, 'cuz my only relatives are either in Chicago (mom, 2 sisters) and a
few cousins and an and uncle in the Czech Republic. Also, in the movie
"Election" there was the teacher who bonked Reese Witherspoon. His name was
Dave Novotny. He was fired and ended up working in a grocery store (hope I
don't suffer such a fate). See ya!

Hello to everybody!
after a long hot summer i'm at school again, thus i have re-joined this
great list. it's gonna take some time until i realize what happened while
i was off and find my former place here, but i'm already looking forward
to it.
during this holiday i was in germany and came across a moby poster in a cd
shop. gee.. it is my first (and i guess the last too) moby poster, it's an
advertisment for the PLAY album and it shows the cover. it cost 3,- DM,
what is an amazingly low price for a poster in my home country. Does
somebody
has any spare moby posters ? from shows, albums etc... . i know, that in the
A.R. booklet, there is a photo of some street somewhere (i guess ) in NYC,
and one of the walls is covered with EIW posters.
the merchandising conditions for foreign countries are quite unacceptable,
so
if anyone could help.... surely i'll pay (if necessary :-) ).
hello to all new members, hello to all the old ones, hello to me and hello
to
moby !
yours KOHUT.

It's not been very busy when you were gone... We haven't had a good old
flame war in ages... Oh, but Moby posted 2 messages to Mobility on Sept.
the 15th. were you already back on the list at that time? If not, mail me
at
eijck@iae.nl and I'll forward them to you if you want.
Here, for you to catch up, are some events/dates:
- - September 11th. => Moby's birthday
- - October 11th. => Release of Moby's new single WDMHFSB in the UK
(and the rest of Europe I suppose...)
- - December 25th. => Christmas
- - spring of 2000 => plans are to release Play Remixed then.
- - summer of 2000 => Paul Yates' film called 'Porno' will be playing in
the US then. In this film Moby will
play his guitar
with 2 dildos strapped to his head. :)
Welcome back!

Hey Eric, I LOOOOVE your remix of My Weakness.
(at www.tonematrix.com )
It's difficult to do a good remix without fucking up the
original too much, and you did it perfectly! This one
should defenately be on Thanks 2 (if there's ever going
to be a second volume... Greg are you still on Mobility?)

to this awesome forum! believe you can make some pretty awesome friends
this way.
but only if you don't expect it....
October 18th is the day for WDMHFSB- the ferry corsten mix will probably be
another one of his epic weeper remixes that have kids and adults crying and
hugging on the dancefloor. his remixes are of those kind.
ATB- that should be interesting- i'm almost getting sick of 9pm (till i
come)...and the rollo mix-where will that one end up?
how long will moby be on tour for? i know he is going to be in the UK for a
tour coinciding with the single....
okay just wanted to poke my head inside -
Have fun!

Subject: (mobility) Moby in London
Hi Everyone.
Just had the sheer pleasure of seeing the man live. He was absolutely
brilliant as everyone who has said so in the U.S.
Me and my girlfriend arrived about hour and half early and went past this
chap in glasses who looked like Moby from the back of his head. He passed me
and I got a good look at him and yes, it was him. Been a typical English
bloke (reserved) I did not have the wits about me to say anything.
Ten minutes later, he was coming straight at us, and I bit the bullet and
said some real embarrassing things like ' I think you are a genius and I love
your music'.
He was really nice about me been totally embrassed and said don't be
embarrassed and we talked a bit. I said that I belong to the mobility list
and he said that he does not have much time always to get online, but yes
it's diffidently him who sends his messages to Dan. I said that I really like
the Voodoo Child album and he said that his favourite album as well. I asked
him what is he going to do next and he said that he wants to do something
with his 'B' sides. I asked him if he was going to tour with Eurythmics and
he said he's heard about these rumours but he does'nt think so. He said that
he also liked early Eurythmics records.
We talked for a few minutes and then he had to go and do some interviews.
We later saw Daniel Miller (Mute Record Boss) at the concert at well.
The venue was totally sold out and the ticket touts were trying to buy
tickets when we went in.
Moby made the whole audience laugh when he said that his Manager always gets
cold sweat everytime he reaches for a guitar, in case he does another 'punk
album'.
He done a brilliant acoustic version of 'Run On' where he sang all the vocal
himself with guitar.
I took my girlfriend who doesn't mind Moby music playing in the background.
She is now s total devotee who thinks the man is a total genius (he is!).
If anyone who hasn't seen him, but has a chance, go for it. He is one of the
best concerts I have ever been to.
Thanks Moby!.

I don't think it's a good idea to tell all the fans to write emails
directly to moby's mailbox. imagine what amount of mails it could be.
and surely a lot of them will ask the same or similar questions. this
makes anyone annoyed, i mean reading the same all the time or, god save
moby, answering it.
i like the way moby sometimes posts something to mobility (like calming
down the flamewar about gwen from no doubt, or about the sell-out djs),
it always adds some new colour the the rich palette of this mailing list.

pity, that the movie you mention will probably not find its way to my country,

God, that happened to me as well. Two of my friends had
already left after the gig and me and my best friend were
waiting to get our gear back, when Moby and manager(?)
starts walking toward us and out the main entrance. We were
just leaving and some girls were hanging around him giving
him hugs and kisses and, looking back, I wish I'd done the
same...maybe not.., and all I could do was shake his hand
and say something like, " great gig..excellent...nice one"
and then walked off. He had a really genuine, beaming smile
and was expecting a little more..I think.. but I can't
believe I just walked off like that.... cool, or not cool,
that is the question...?

He said that last night as well. You went to the Tuesday
night gig, right? There was one on Tues night wasn't
there? Anyway, he handled some of the heckling pretty well
and made everyone laugh too. When he asked if anybody
wanted some punk, a few shouted out, and he reckoned
somebody else wanted some metal, so the band did that Black
Sabbath one, thrash-punk style, and a very amusing acoustic
version of Anarchy in the U.K.

Hey..I remember there was some discussion on the list a while back about
where to get the Everything is Wrong Mixed and Remixed set...
This was top of my list of things to find for quite a while, but I exhausted
all me resources in Austin to find it...however...my sister is staying in
London for a while, so I sent her a list of music I was looking for, with
that at the top, and she found it at the first store she looked at...so the
moral of this story is, anyone who's still actively looking for this, try
ordering it from some place in the UK, or send one of your siblings to
England like I did <grin>
Now if she would stop listening to it, and actually mail it to me...

Hi it's me Danielle the mobility-ite formerly known as dtlogue@syr.edu.
I've taken a 3 month vacation from the list and I'm psyched to be
back...I missed you guys, shniff shniff. Anyway, for those of you that
don't know (which is probably all of you, I didn't really post that
often), and the new members (welcome!), I'm a 22 year old legal
secretary from Queens, finishing my RN degree. I like Bjork, Aphex Twin
and others...I also saw the beginning of Veronica's Closet, and it made
me sad. I can't specifically say why, but it effected me differently
than when I heard his songs behind ads. Will BodyRock by the permanent
opening song for this show or was it just for the premiere? If any of
this is redundant I apologize in advance; I heard that Moby is doing a
show Goldstein Student Center at Syracuse University (my alma mater) on
Oct. 19. I also saw in the Village Voice, a local weekly paper, that
Moby will be performing at the Roxy on Oct. 28. I couldn't get tickets
for his show at the bowery ballroom this summer, if anyone wants to
torture me about how awesome the show was, email me privately, I'd love
to hear what I missed, sorta. Point being...On moby.org there are
european shows posted for these dates. Can anyone clear this up for me?
Those who remember Ryu..if anyone went to the recent Pitt show, the
songs off the CD moby read were Ryu's. Thanks for reading this far and
I'm glad to be back!
