Wow let me tell ya moby live live is something that I
will never get over no matter how many times that I
see him.
I havent been able to read my mail yet so I dont know
what Paul has said but he made himself known by
yelling out "Rock", it was kindof cool, Sorry I didnt
get to meet up with you Paul. :(
Any way it was on of the best shows that I have seen
Moby at it was a hour and 15 long and very much alive
with toooooooooooo much energy to hold him in that
little club.
I would like to know if Dan at Moby.org could tell me
who the D.J. on the stage befor that horable rap band
got up there was, he was pretty cool.
So in closing the house got rocked and I got all of my
pours opened and I think on Sunday I found god
finally.

Subject: (mobility) My favorite Moby tape
In preparation for the upcoming shows I'll be at (Chicago, Baltimore and
DC), I have made myself a tape of my favorite Moby songs. Here they are...in
an ideal world, this is what he'd play:
SIDE ONE
1) Hymn
2) Ah Ah
3) Feeling So Real
4) Honey
5) Mirconesia (one of my favorites!)
6) Porcelain
7) Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
8) Let's Go Free
9) Everytime You Touch Me
10) Go
11) Move (Disco Threat)
12) Natural Blues
13) First Cool Hive
14) Guitar Flute and String
SIDE TWO
1) Next is the E (Club Mix)
2) Bodyrock
3) Bring Back My Happiness
4) Machete
5) South Side
6) Rushing
7) Unloved Symphony
8) Everloving (one of the most beautiful songs EVER)
9) Anthem (sheer bliss)
10) Dog Heaven
11) Everything is Wrong
12) The Rain Falls and the Sky Shudders
I would have included "God Moving..." if I had enough room. An interesting
note: I remember in the summer of 1994 I bought the "Move" EP and I was
listening to "Unloved Symphony" and there was an electrical storm outside.
It was about 1 am and the sky kept flashing so I put on the song and it was
almost like the lightning and music were in synch. It was VERY cool. See you
all in Chicago...I CANNOT wait!!
BTW, were any of you at Crobar a few months ago when he DJ'ed there? That
was a fun night.
XO,
Joe

While flipping back and forth between re-runs of ER and Friends (guilty
pleasures,
don't laugh) I caught an ad for Labbatt Blue (a canadian beer company for
the
non-drinkers out there) for their latest "out of the blue" adventure.
while they were explaining the new contest (you get a pager in specially
marked
cases of beer and if it goes off at any time respond to the page and that's
your
invite to a private underground party) bodyrock was playing in the
background.
i know moby drinks sometimes, but still... it struck me as quite weird,
hearing
moby while all these (IMO) pro-drinking messges were being flashed across
the screen.
(pro drinking as in lots of young and beautiful people dancing around and
having
a good time with open beer bottles in their hands, you know, the usual...)
anyway...
does this strike anyone else as being slightly... odd?

So "Play" is considered by Spin magazine to be one of the pinacle releases of

Subject: (mobility) show i saw and Woodstock stuff
I saw Moby at the Chameleon on Monday night, ( and plan on seeing him
wed. night too at Philly ). The place was so small that I got to stand
literally 2 feet away from moby. I was so close I could reach out and touch
him whenever i wanted. It was amazing. He actually got really pissed off
at some DJ, while they were playing porcelain, because there was another
song playing in the background. Pretty shitty, I guess he won't go to that
club again, because he seemed pretty pissed off about the sound qaulity too.
I couldn't tell there was anything wrong, I mean he sounded really good.
It was even better than when I saw him in '97. The highlight was when he
played Everytime You Touch Me.
About the Woodstock thing, Moby said at the show that "there was a
certain type of guy in high-school that would kick his ass, and it seemed
like they were all at Woodstock dancing to Limp Biskit." That's about it.

1. Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
2. Moby - Everything Is Wrong
3. Orbital - In Sides (w/ The Box EP)
4. Squarepusher - Feed Me Wierd Things
5. Fatboy Slim - Better Living Through Chemistry
6. Bjork - Homogenic
7. Orbital - Way Out
8. Radiohead - The Bends
9. Tori Amos - Boys For Pele
10. Portishead - Portishead
Honorable Mention
(theres just too many, it came out to be a top 20 almost,
but the rest are in no particular order)
Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do
Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy (Boing Boing)
Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty (letme get some action from the back section!)
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
Fiona Apple - Tidal
Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar
Moby - Move
Moby - Play (it hasnt soaked in enough for me to be up above #10, though
that could change)
Underworld - Beaucoup Fish
Josh Wink - Left Above The Clouds
I'm even interested in a top 10 songs of the 90s.
Rather than being groundbreaking albums the above are more of my favorite.
Though DJ Shadow was pretty inventive considering he had his albums and one
instrument.
Aphex with his Bucephalus Bouncing Ball.
Squarepusher with his badass drums.
Orbital with the box ep (play that harpsichord!)
Wink who first introduced me to bird tweakin bleeps
Portishead impressed me more on their live video, where they had a real
orchestra. (If you havent
try and listen to the track "humming" from their self titled album).
Same goes for Bjork for using strings and great distorted drums,
and Tori for showing alot of people that a Piano isnt a boring one mood
instrument. (Even tho i knew that!) :)
Same goes for her too, "play that harpsichord!"
Well thanks for reading, look forward to reading yours.
