Agreed...stupidity and ignorance like that (ie...woodstock 99) just makes
many people just look pretty damn lame.
And the under 25 set wonders many times why they are not taken seriously,
gee...demonstrations of their maturity in situations like that should be
pretty obvious. I an disgusted and I am only 25...
Wake Up!
When I read and see things like this one line from one of the best hardcore

Just dug out my cd of RARE (no its not that old but from broken cd cover
heck it looks old!)
anyways, i was looking through the catalog that came with the cd for
Instinct Records, and
was wondering has anyone bought or at least heard some of the cds from the
catalog?
Some of the titles looked interesting.
Anyone heard of Prototype 909? (hmmm what kinda drum machine do they have?!)

.... im still here.
in response to the bad woodstock vibes, yeah its unfortunate what a couple
rowdy people
can do, but oh well.
i was thinking of having my own mobystock. listening to all the moby cds i
have in one sitting.
after all i do have to sit here and read a bunch of govt crap for my class,
why not read with
moby!
hey you math wizzes out there, any of you want to calculate how long it
would take to listen to
all of moby's music?

you do have to admit its kinda stupid to pass out
candles to everyone, and hope they'll just sway back and forth
with them.
maybe during the jewel concert (nothing against jewel) but just how
can you expect a rowdy mudhen not to drop a little candle on a
heavily flammable piece of plywood.
and when the Red "HOT" Chili Peppers came out too.. and they sang Hendrix's
FIRE!
Smokey the Bear shouldve been there, then there would have been harmony!

Man there needs to be another RARE moby music release! I'm sure theres
plenty
of music to be released. anyone agree?

A LONG TIME!!! back in my drug abusing days, we had 2
day orb party and listened to nothing but orb music
for
19 hours!! i think(i'm not sure)that moby has more
music than the orb. we never did make it through all
the orb, got burned out.

i expect it because that is the kind of responsebility
that is placed upon us if we expect these things to
happen in the future. and i don't mean to flame(hehe,
more puns!)any particular group of people. it was just
irresponsible. maybe of the people that gave out the
candles..

that was cool actually!

ya know, i don't care so much that it wasn't all
harmony and holding hands and shit. but the rioting
and looting and destroying OTHER poeples stuff was
just wrong! and as someone else noted, an event this
large makes our whole generation look bad. i am not of
"THAT" generation. that was bullshit! SORRY THIS IS SO
OFF TOPIC! but this event should have shown how well
we, as a group, can congragate peacefully and have a
good time. didn't happen! and now i'll shut up about
woodstock. sorry!

i totally agree with you! there's 5 or six songs on
the discography from comp's and benifit albums i have
never
heard. add to that a lot of the b-sides that have come
out over the last 2-3 albums and that would make a
great full length.

You don't know the HALF of it. Does MOby put on a good show? YOU BETCHA!!
That is the best part about Moby! His albums rock the house and blow your mind
away, BUT when you see him live you appreciate his ENERGY and ENTHUSIASM! He
just goes totally OFF! PLus he does some mixes of his songs that you can ONLY
hear live because of how he does them (bongos etc.). Just IMAGINE hearing
"Feeling So Real" (personal live favorite) BLARRING at you with hundreds
(thousands?) of people all loving it and rejoicing!

Yes. I have to completely agree. I was just sickened when i saw the
reports on the news about the rioting and the looting! I just sat and
thought 'what the f@*%'. I hate the "mob mentality" that people get when
they are in large groups and how they feel "safe" to be assholes and do
things that they normally would not do if they weren't surrounded by so
many other pricks. Such a shame that people had to feel the need to
destroy other peoples property. Luckily no one was very seriously injured
or even killed. I hope they don't throw another "woodstock". They don't
deserve one if that is the way they are going to act at them. Sometimes
the human race sickens me and I have to shut myself in and listen to music
and disappear for awhile so that I don't go insane. Thanks to all the
artists, sounds and people that keep me sane. :)

hey sarah, sorry to bug you again. I WAS AT THAT SHOW!
it was beautiful! unfortunately i had balcony seats.
but i was on the floor for the previous tour with
goldie! i LOVE the warfield!!! it is my absolute
favorite place to see ANY show. many of the best
concerts i've ever been to where at that venue.
the orb(INCREDIBLE!)dave matthews band,moby(and sven
vath dj'd-sven is god on the
turntables!),metallica,ani difranco(no words to
describe),the allman brothers,the grateful dead,jerry
garcia band, and michelle shocked.
most people don't even know who michelle shocked is.
but let me tell ya friend, i was in the middle of the
best relationship i've had thus far in my fairly short
life, and it was the last show of michelles tour. she
took the stage at 8:45. my girlfriend and i were
pretty much exactly where you were for bjork, right at
the front. center stage. well, about 11:00 she played
this intensely beautiful song that meant a lot to both
of us, and we were standing there holding each other
crying. she had looked at us and talked to us already.
well she looked down and saw us crying...and stopped
singing! she got down on the edge of the stage and
started talking to us while the band played REALLY
quitely. she asked us our names and were we where from
and why we where crying. TALK ABOUT NERVOUS! we
stammered through explaining that it was pretty much
happiness and that the song had great meaning to our
relationship. she proceeded to explain that it did for
her and the person it was written about as well.
thanked us, and went back to singing. she played until
1:00 IN THE MORNING!! when she announced that the
warfield was asking her to stop. it was an inredibly
beautiful experience. but just one of many that i've
had at the warfield.
whew! sorry to have babbled so! have a great week,
today is my friday and i'm off work at 7:30. yay! only
two more hours!

and one in Baltimore, the baltimore show is on a saturday, which my

in DC, plus the 930 club is DC is kinda in a bad part of town.
but anywho, is anyone here planning on going to either of these shows?
maybe i'll goto both!

Didn't they get together and Moby did a remix of "Dead Man WAlking"? Is
this worth getting BTW? I like the version that is on "The Saint" soundtrack.
Also, I would recommend getting the the two UK singles of Bodyrock over the
US single just because you will the have "Arp"(!) which is very good and only
available off of UK Bodyrock Pt. 1
