I saw in a cd store on the internet, an album by Voodoo Child, described as
heavy melodic rock. I think it's called Devil's 85, but I'm not sure. Has
anyone heard of this? Is it MOBY?

Yes, it IS a bit longer, it has the ending chords looped over
and over again instead of just a few loops in the Edit.
(and some other slightly longer loops elsewhere...)
I usually like the extended versions of songs better, but with this
song I really prefer the edited version. Although the extended
version is only 4:41, the endless loop really starts to get boring
after a while... Compare the last minute of the edit with the ext.
mix.

well, 104 never did get around to broadcasting Moby.
he was at the rave stage at like 1:45 in the morning.
104 just did main stage acts, and they replayed
earlier acts all thru the night till Kid Rock played
at 1:15 or so. god DAMN there was a lot of cursin! and
they didnt censor iit! he started out with this
speecha bout grammatical uses of the word FUCK and the
radio staation was like "you may get offended by this,
these here rawk stars like to swear!" and during one
of his songs (the one with the midget with a "ten foot
dick") they start singing "WE ROCK THE PARTY ROCK THE
BODY!!" or something. Of course, everything Kid Rock
ever did is stolen from hip hop or Lynyrd Skynyrd, so
that really isnt a surprise. He probly has no clue who
Moby is.
Tonight Fatboy Slim plays at the rave tent, where Moby
was today, and Chems play I think at one of the main
stages... maybe they'll broadcast them?!?!? well
104.com is playing it so chekitowt or dont...
TOADS PLACE!!!!!!
okay, since nobody is talking to me (havent got Bas on
the line either...) During the beginning/opening
act/whuteva I'll be at the Rock Shop, inside the club,
I'll have A University Of New Haven hat, a blue
windbreaker, shorts, glasses, probly wont see my hair
but its brown, 5'6" or so, probly taller (im not sure)
and if my pal Sebastian is theree, he has long blonde
hair, right, so please say hi to me please!!!! I want
to meet some of you! You guys rock!!!!!!!
k bye kiddieos!!??

okay, guys - it was stupid. moby's performance was great - totally
enjoyable - but conan is a terd with no self-esteem. he has someone
(amasingly) as utterly inspirational as moby on the show - and he wastes ten
minutes on a lame skit about posters. moreover - what the fu*k was up with
tony randall eating kentucky fried chicken?? hasn't anyone wondered whether
conan was trying to take the piss out of moby with the whole kfc skit????
(i guess tony randall is a kfc spokesperson - my ass.) not only did conan
waste airtime so that he wouldn't have to do an interview with moby, but he
obviously mocked moby by doing a totally disgusting skit that involved
watching a sixty-something year-old man eat a chicken leg. i'm surprised
moby went onto a network TV show in the first place.
he's better than that.
my two cents -

ok i love moby and all but that conspiracy theory about conan is crap.
conan doesnt do the editing, he just does what they tell him to do.
Not all musical guests get to talk anyways, regardless of how much time
they have.
and do you honestly think Conan knows who Moby is? and that hes utterly
amazing?
there shouldnt really be any complaining, its just about damn time that Moby
got on a late-night show.
and yeah im sure conan was sitting before the show, "hmmm how can i get out
of talking with moby.... oh yes a bucket o kfc!"
> obviously mocked moby by doing a totally disgusting skit that involved

What? how is someone eating chicken, mocking moby? what because hes a vegan?
did i miss something?
I thought that him having the little conversation with the moby fans was
cool
enough.
did you expect a whole dedicated moby show?
i was just amazed in the first place that moby was on the box with moving
pictures!
the guy should have his own television sitcom.. "Little Idiot" times of a
musician
in NY!
sorry for the outburst if it seems that way,
but its just one of those days today.

I hope no one has already posted this.....
but... here goes
www.addict.com
addicted to noise
july 24, 1999
ROME, N.Y. =97 The scene was the rave tent at Woodstock
'99 at 1 a.m.
Saturday (July 24). The man of the moment was Moby.
Unlike the other
DJs in the house, he had a band.
Moby was performing in an aircraft hangar that serves as
the festival's
emerging artists stage during the day. The Connecticut
native, a
leading DJ in Britain and the U.S., devoted his portion
of the rave to a
performance by his band, featuring a platinum-tressed
bassist and a
keyboardist with orange hair.
He greeted the audience by saying, "My name is
Moby,"
and spent the next hour singing songs such as
"Honey"
(RealAudio excerpt), from his new album, Play.
"Thanks to everybody for staying up so late to
come and
see us and for putting up with all this
garbage," Moby
(born Richard Melville Hall) said. He was
referring to the
enormous amount of trash that accumulated on
Griffiss
Air Force base during Woodstock '99.
In the early morning hours, before Moby took
the helm,
strangers in various states of undress
moonwalked,
breakdanced and literally dueled each other
with their
bodies as they grooved face to face. One guy
danced
as he videotaped his partner.
Images from the day's events flashed on
monitors. New
York DJ Liquid Todd spun monotone dance music
that
kept thousands of fans, many of whom had been
up
since the previous morning, spinning around
the room
as they watched their favorite bands.
A long-haired guy dressed from head to toe in
white
underwear riddled by about 100 holes danced
with an
imaginary partner. Joe Yarborough, 27,
mesmerized his
fellow Woodstockers with a masterful
breakdancing
interlude, during which his arms and legs moved so fast
they became a
blur.
"I've been doing [breakdancing] since I was a little
kid," Yarborough
said. "Everybody in my neighborhood in Detroit did."
On two giant screens, lights pulsated with geometric
shapes that
created a dizzying environment as revelers bounced off
one another.
Slogans such as "Birth is decay ... this decay is birth"
flashed randomly.
When it was his turn, Moby played guitar, jumped, kicked
his legs and
shook his bald head at the foot of the stage, as the
crowd tossed
rubber balls around. He dedicated his set to "anyone who
has ever
stayed out till 4 a.m. dancing."
Moby sang his 1993 single "I Feel It" to loud cheers, as
dancers stage
right flailed around with baby-bottle nipples in their
mouths. He shouted
"lift yourself to heaven" over a track that featured
shrieks and echo
effects that brought to mind performance artist Yoko
Ono.
Most of the crowd seemed unfazed by the band.
"We just like to dance," 24-year-old Lisa Flesher of
Long Island, N.Y.,
said. "This music is good, though," her friend Tiffany
Rothstein added.
"I have no idea how you are all still awake, but I'm
very glad you are,"
Moby told the crowd with a big smile.
Earlier in the day, Moby said Woodstock "has resonated
through my
life. I grew up watching the movie and I have the double
album," he
said, referring to the recorded documents of the
original Woodstock
festival. "It was a very dominant cultural motif."
He praised the weekend's lineup but said that if he had
put the event
together, he would have eased up on the hard rock and
added more
eclectic acts. Two of his favorite artists in the
lineup, Moby said, are
country artist Willie Nelson and funk pioneer George
Clinton.
