  56.      compilations, but not their album/cd.

  59.      Somone on the list said the album wasn't half bad especially a few

  105. A pawn shop near me had it a year ago, and I almost bought it. They 
  106. literally have piles of unorganized CDs out on the floor, so I'll scour them 
  107. on my next weekly visit and see if it's still there. Please don't get your 
  108. hopes up though, it's been a year! If you're looking for it physically (as 
  109. opposed to online) the cover is all yellow w/ Sesame's Treat on the cover in 
  110. blue or black letters, and there's 4 or 5 mixes, inc. a Joey Beltram one.

  227. about  Soft Cell - Sex Dwarf?  All electronic number that I danced to when I 
  228. was a twelve year old goth kid in the 80's.

  230. A more recent one would have to be (as far as the rave scene) was Wink's 
  231. "Higher State of Consciousness".  I was at a party where he was spinning 
  232. when he premiered that song and everybody got all psycho.  It was fun.

  234. I think that Deep Forest song from '92 was pretty big, at the time.  Also 
  235. FSOL's "Papua New Guinea".

  305. Music magazines I read usually call it "German synthesiser music"
  306. which I think is a bit vague. It's like calling Techno "Detroit synthesiser

  324. In Europe we had sooooo many techno compilations! I'm only 18 and so
  325. I had a very hard time tracking the releases from 1990-1991-1992 down.
  326. I was only 10 in 1991 so I couldn't start looking for them until +/- 1995
  327. (the
  328. year in which I discovered Moby with EIW and Underwater!)
  329.  
  330. But I have 2 compilation series complete now:
  331. - - Techno Trance (vol. 1-10)
  332. - - Turn up the Bass (vol. 1-25)!!
  333.  
  334. The Turn up the Bass series coveres almost al electronic music (New Beat,
  335. House, Acid, Hiphouse, Deep House, Freestyle House, Techno, Italo House,
  336. Mellow House, Gabber and everything in between) from 1989 till 1993.
  337. This is not a "best of" compilation, but vol. 1 was actually released in
  338. 1989
  339. and volume 25 in 1993.
  340.  
  341. Techno Trance is more Techno orientated and goes from 1991 till 1995.
  342. (vol. 1 released in 1991..etc.)
  343.  
  344. It's a shame these 2 compilation series were only released in Holland and
  345. Beligium (I think) and are loooooooooong out of print and impossible to
  346. find now. (I haven't seen one in 2 years..)
  347.  
  348. In Holland we also had great compilation series like: Move the House,
  349. Houseparty, Rave the City, Now Dance.  I like compilations released in
  350. the year that the tracks were 'hits' best.  'The history of..' and 'the best
  351. of'
  352. - -compilations often give you only the very 'obvious' tracks not offering
  353. unknown tracks & artists.

  678. Was just listening to one of the only decent local radio stations here and
  679. they played 'Porcelain'.  I just think that song is simply beautiful and
  680. if Moby performs it live during his upcoming tour I am just going to cry
  681. while he plays it.

  683. I love this radio stations cuz they are actually playing a couple songs
  684. off of 'Play' in their regular rotation lately.

  686. Also I updated my website with new pictures.  I only had one picture of
  687. Moby when he was here dj'ing and it turned out very blurry...oh well. I'll
  688. get better ones when his tour heads this way.
  689. I also have picture from when I saw Gus Gus, Mark Farina, Joi, DSCI4 Tour
  690. (Trace, Fierce & MC Ryme Tyme), and Paul van Dyk.  As well as many older
  691. pictures from Underworld, Dubtribe, Asian Dub Foundation, Richie Hawtin,
  692. Doc Martin, Paul Oakenfold, Dave Seaman, etc.
