I was a bit dissappointed also. But I was watchin 120 minutes before AMP and I
was happy to see Underworld in the first hour, then the Freestylers in the next!
I saw the video for Push Upstairs and was quite impressed. Yesterday and I also
got Animal Rights. I've only listened to the first couple of tracks so far, and
I am quite pleased. I am planning to listen to the entire thing all the way
through, since I feel this is one of the best ways to enjoy a cd. I'm not really
into singles or anything like that.

Well, first and foremost I am a music lover. Secondly, I love records and
finally, I love about 95% of Moby's music, so buying something with his name
on it is a surefire way to ensure I'm getting my money's worth. Good music.
Moby (including remixes) makes up about 20% of my vinyl collection nowadays.
I forgot to include the US promo 2x12" for ETYTM, which I also have. I do a
little DJing for friends' parties, but I'm not very good at it.
Bart wrote:

Some of Moby's best work is hard to come by, unfortuantely. Case in point
being that German Hymn single that I don't think I'll ever find.
Fortunately, I have the US 12" promo w/ those mixes. Other good stuff
includes certain vinyl only Voodoo Child mixes and lots of remix work like
the Opus III mixes that are also vinyl only.
Nonetheless, despite having lots of neat Moby stuff, Play is the most
exciting thing in my basket right now. :)

Hey girls........B-boys......superstar DJ's.........Here we go!!
Oh no, wrong song..
I went to my local record store this afternoon to pre-order the
both Bodyrock CD singles on Mute and I saw there also is going
to be a commercial AMERICAN release of Bodyrock.
I don't know if there's going to be a US Bodyrock CD, but it
is pretty certain that there's going to be (at least) a 4-track 12"
version of Bodyrock in the US. At this moment I have no idea
of what tracks are on it, but I'll post them as soon as I have further
info. (if Daniel doesn't beat me to it..)
As for the European release of Bodyrock, I have seen several
release dates (21/6.....9/7.....12/7..) I think the 9th. of July is the UK
release date and 12/7 the rel. date for the Netherlands (and the rest
of Europe?) The 21/6 date is the one Jorge Punaro found at some
distributors site and that he posted to Mobility at the end of March so
this date is probably incorrect by now...
And you know what? I'm beginning to like Bodyrock more and more!
I can't wait to hear the b-sides of Mute's cd1 of Bodyrock.
Here's what Daniel Cerman wrote about Bodyrock on www.moby.org
>Bodyrock
>This single will include remixes done by Olav Basoski, Dani Koenig,
>Rae & Christian, Hybrid, and Dean Hohner. It is not yet known whether
>there will be a commercial CD-single in America.
Hmm, sounds interesting! According to the magazine OOR Rae & Christian
make music with (quote): "mellow hiphopbeats, house influences, raps and
soul vocals" In the interview in OOR they are also compared with Massive
Attack and Soul ll Soul.

speaking of the chemicals (and i think someone else mentioned them) i got
the new album today. i just scanned through it and i must say i'm a bit
dissapointed. i like "the sunshine underground" and "hey boy, hey girl"
but the rest are pretty boring. i still think "exit planet dust" is their
best record.
i heard the blond chemical talking about how they want to change the way
dance music sounds and how they've found their own style. they don't seem
to be doing it very well. i think moby has done more for techno than
anyone, at least in the past few years. the problem is that he's so
unknown. of course everyone wants to be fatboy, he's rolling in money! i
think "play" is a damn good album. it's not techno, not trip hop, not
rock or funk. just damn good music!
moby wins (silently) again.

- - price: $10.50 (US) / fl. 22,95 (NL) / ú 6.75 (UK)

Eurocheques (in Dutch Guilders please)
- - Shipping costs (excl. insurance):

UK (and the rest of Europe): priority: fl. 9,50 (= ú 2.80)
UK (and the rest of Europe): standard: fl. 6,- (= ú 1.80)
And remember, before I get flamed for using this list for selling stuff,
I DO THIS FOR YOU GUYS, I'm not making any profit. I'm only trying
to help out the ones who can't get promo's that easily...

had Underworld as guests along with the Freestylers, so I didn't feel a

I just read though the transcript, and I realized that I don't like J.
Henson that much anymore. He's funny on talk soup, but he sounded pretty
dumb. I can see where Moby didn't get to say much either, but the stuff he
did say was intelligent and thoughtful, but I don't think the show goes
along with that kind of thought. Which brings me to a question I have. Does
anyone know if Moby is a part of any civil right organizations, like Amnesty
International or any others?

$18! Holy crap! Don't you people have a Best Buy around you or
somethin? I usually pay $11 or a tops of about $13 or so for all my new
CDs. Or even better yet at yesterday I bought Mixmag for about $8 at a
Disc'go'Round, sure it was used, but oh well. I guess I didn't realise
how lucky I am to have such good prices.

well...not to stray too far off topic...but in my

warehouse. and they are charging 16.99-18.99 for new
cd's. if i make a 20 mile round trip to tower..i get
the same prices. they hardly EVER have new releases on
sale. if i make a 70 mile round trip to berkeley all
new cd's are on sale for 12.99 and they have used

blah...but it's all relative you see. because i have
to drive 70 miles to get the stuff.

you are sooo lucky! i have to drive 300 miles round trip to get good
vinyl. i drive about 30 miles every day just back and forth to school and
work. what are you complaining about? i see it the other way. since you
only have to go 20 miles, it's worth the extreamly high $18.
BUT WAIT! did you say you were getting the new chemical brothers
"surrender"? hmmm...it's a pretty lame album in my opinion. the singles
are good, but everything else sounds like filler. there are maybe 3 good
songs total. i guess i'm not a huge chemicals fan, but i still think
their first album "exit planet dust" is the best.
um, to make this moby related...MOBY RULZ! CHEMICALS DRUL!
how jr. high was that?!
