i have also been looking for this film, among others.
Some retailers have told me that it hasn't been
transfered to video yet, which seems unlikely to me
seeing as how long ago it completed its run on the
festival circuit. I will keep searching, and if I come
across it I will be sure to let you know. Please do
the same.

i would just use mail order and only get new stuff.
it's still kind of a pain though to have to go 70
miles. but there is 3 of the best record stores on the
planet within about 10 blocks of each other. and they
sell lot's of MOBY!

I'm not sure about human rights groups (I would think that he is) but I've
been a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for over
ten years now, and I know that Moby is too. In '95 after EIW came out,
there was a picture of him in their monthly newsletter plugging the EIW
tour. The picture is funny, he's wearing a shirt that reads "Jesus was a
vegetarian".

I've got this tape from around '93-'94 that came with the magazine NME, and
it has a set that they mixed when they were known as The Dust Brothers. I
really dig that tape. For me, the newer stuff was harder to get into.

OK, I can do better! I have to drive 20 miles to even get
to the nearest city with a (somewhat) decent music store.
In the Netherlands the normal price for a CD is $ 20.25
CD maxi singles used to be $ 7.60 but last year December
they became $ 8.10 And about the availability of new
releases; I'm very lucky if they have 1 copy of a single/CD
I like, but with Moby I have to backorder almost everything...
I am very lucky that there also is a store where I can backorder
almost anything (and quite cheap too!) Often an import back-
ordered at this store is cheaper than the domestic cd in
another store!
Why am I writing this anyway?
Oh well, there's always the 'delete' button...

drive about 2 or 3 minutes, for great prices and good selection. You
wouldn't think so, but Best Buy has a better selection than any of the
record stores in all the malls in my area, with the exception of Sam
Goody, but that is a 20 min drive, oh well, I guess thats alot better
than spending a hours in the car. Sheesh.

For anyone interested,
http://www.netradio.net
has a little spotlight on Play.
A small paragraph is there,
Play, the new full length release from Moby, adds again more expanding
styles to his already impressive credits. It's no wonder why bands from one
end of the spectrum to the other have asked him to remix their songs. Play
is more down tempo than anything to date from this electronic artist who has
been making music for 20 years. Trip-hop-ish and experimental on one hand
while big beat and funky on the other, Moby plays all the instruments on the
entire LP. Samples and guest vocalists weave together perfectly and there's
even snippets from a 100-year-old field recording. Named "Play" after a
playground in his neighborhood, this release was chosen by Spin magazine as
one of the top records of the 1990s!
and some cuts from the album. I dont know which because I didnt actually
listen to it, but who knows it might be
longer than the 30secs from CDNOW and etc, but maybe not.
tas all
PS.
anyone like Front Line Assembly?
or heard the new album (implode). pretty good stuff, even a little aphex
samples in there.

Well,
The first FOUR of EIW is pretty good if I remember correctly:
- HYMN
- Feeling So Real
- (forget the name of the short one)
- Every TIme You Touch Me (isn't this the fourth?)
These songs just blew my mind when I heard them. After you hear Hymn
for the first time you don't know WHAT to expect then BAMMMMMM!!! You
get kick-ass high-soaring glad to be alive techno in your face with
Feeling So Real. Then after the short intro tune you get:
"It's a Moby on the CONTROLS!" with ETYTM. Gotta love it. Maybe the
BEST first four songs (ie: INTRO) on ANY album/cd I have. (Hmmmmm,
I'll get back to you on that one)
- Jayson
ps: good question BTW
