yeah!! isn't it cool! i bugged 4 people(out of 9000
^_^)enough to buy it the first week! and everyone
who's listened to it(9 people at work, several other
friends & my sister) have all had very positive things
to say! it's such a great album! EIW is a great album,
but a lot of it rubbed the uninitiated the wrong way.
play seems to really grab people emotionally right
from the start.
damn! the 2 people that have recently posted there
moby collections rock! you people need to be on this
list. i don't collect remixes(only orb and rdj), and i
try really hard not to buy repeat songs. if a twelve
inch has another MOBY mix or a cd has an unreleased
song, i'll pick it up. but otherwise i pass. i do
believe that i have every original song that the man
has released though. will post my collection as soon
as i can right it down. my only computer(presently)is
at work. :( blech!

oh man! i REALLY hope someone can help you out with
that one. i've seen sven dj 3 times(i don't know if
he's EVER performed live..anyone?). he sooo rocks!
it's almost spiritual! the one time i could actually
see him, he just stood there bobbin' his head drinkin'
cokes(constantly) and chain smoking camels. his mixes
are so fluid it's incredible. and he's so mellow about
it. no work at all. sometimes he did'nt even use his
headphones!!! and he NEVER missed a beat! try VERY
hard to see him if you have'nt.
sorry to send to list, but i'm tired and lazy right
now..^_^

Ok ladies and gents, I've been traveling all over the US the past month
(work related) so I am a bit behind. Here is the current scoop on "Thanks
II":
First off, I want to thank the list for giving their input a month or so
ago. After my initial post it was obvious that people ARE interested, and
people want something that is good, and not rushed. With that said, I'm
looking forward to finishing this up and getting a good disc out.
So far, I have contributions by:
Andrew Mullen (bionicrain@hotmail.com)
Daniel Lee (danlee27@hotmail.com)
Geoffrey Sproule (gsproule@x-stream.co.uk)
Johan Jaatinea (agape@gargamel.com)
Phathead@flash.net (yikes - what's your name!)
Andrew Davies (n64racer@ignmail.co)
Eric Goldberg (gold@netrox.net)
Jedi/Sector One (j@4u.net)
...and a few people that would like to contribute, but haven't submitted
anything yet. I'm gonna go one last round on this one: if anyone wants to
contribute, please contact me via the list or private e-mail. I am
accepting remix submissions on tape, CDR, or via FTP. If you are working
on something, please provide an ETA. I'd like to have everything in by
July 1st. Again, it is not too late to do something, but this has dragged
out pretty long and I'd like to start wrapping it up.
I have also been set behind a bit by the fact some ass h@cked the FTP site
(it's fixed now) and I had to clean a bunch of shit off of the server. I
don't think the job had ANYTHING to do with this list, this project, etc.,
but it was still a pain.
And, as a refresher, if any of these are still out there:

actaully, beauty and the beast is just a good a song as accident in paradise,
as long as his contribution to the mixmag cd, on which his mix is a lot
better than moby's. this, again, i just my opinion. after listening to play
at least once everyday, i think that everloving is by far the best song on
the cd, and also one of his best songs ever.

I think that the PLAY album is MOBY's best work yet. The songs on the album
are emotional, spiritual, and genre-diverse. My favorite MOBY song of all
time is Into the Blue. It is a gentle, lovely, and often sad song. It catches
my full attention everytime I hear it. The mixes I have found for it are
amazing. The remixers have not tried to alter the mood or meaning of the
song; they simply augment it. It is a shame that the song was not a bigger
hit, or given the chance to shine on radio or MTV.

That's right boys and girls. Moby was the only one to be cut from the AMP
lineup. I just got done watching it and I am a little upset to say the
least. The video for "Go" was supposed to be the fourth video. How can you
not play Go? I'd like to here anyone elses comments on this.
Interestingly enough I can't find an email address on AMP's website to send
my comments. If anyone has an address please post it. I want to let them
know how stupid they are.
On the brighter side of things they did play the new Underworld video for
"Jumbo". Pretty cool. They also played Laurent Garnier's "Flashback" which
is a pretty funny video and a good song, in my opinion.
Just blowing off some steam.

well... the only real reason i can think of them cutting it is that its an
old video and MTV is <sarcastic remark> *attempting* to be "hip" and "with
it", so they don't want to play a video that *gasp* wasn't released in the
last year... </sarcastic remark>
another thing could be that Go (next to JBT) seems to be the most played
moby video, so maybe they're waiting to get something new (i dunno if they
have run on yet. i know much music has it, or so my friends claim). Then
again MTV might have miscalculated the amount of time they had and the
videos they had chosen would have gone overtime, so they had to cut
something, and moby got the axe.
you never know. at least you get AMP more than once a month. Up here in
the great white north we get R U Receiving? one friday a month at a really
annoying time (either 11pm or 3am. not good. when am i ever home on a
friday at that time???). So maybe they'll play Go another week...

i have no idea what the AMP addy is anymore. i have much music email
addresses tho. Im constantly bugging them for more Moby and *cough* richie
hawtin *cough*. a little while ago i had people emailing them asking for
RuR? to be on more than once a month, but of course nothing happened. i
say just send an email to a feedback address at MTV, and maybe it will get
passed on to the people responsible for AMP. you never know.

On Orbitals first album (kinda yellow-green/forget the title) MOBY
does a remix on the 4th song or so. It's shown on the track listing on
the back of the CD so you can't miss it. It's not a bad remix.
BTW - I don't know the name of the first song on that album but MAN is

Subject: Re: (mobility) Orbital MOby Remix
Yea, Moby did remix Speed Freak on Orbital's First Album. It is Green. (at
least the cover). You forgot the name, because, well, so did Orbital. IT is
the 3rd track, but beware, if you don't have it and plan to buy it, only the
American Release has it. The UK and Jap (and any others that exist?) don't
have the Moby Remix - just the original. Personally, I like the orignal
better, but anyway. And the first track on that album (assuming it is the
American Release) is Belfast. A truly awesome song. But, if you like that
song, you must check out Belfast Wasted - it is unbelievably amazing. IT is
only (as far as I know) on the Wasted - 2CD set (which has a lot of great
names - just shitty songs. Moby is on there as well) or the promotional 2
track CD for the above Comp. I think your best chance is MP3, but do yourself
a favor and find it.
Anyway, anyone have the new Chemical Brothers "Surrender" yet? I can't decide
if I really like it or it is just average. It is a huge step back (as in back
to Exit Planet Dust) which is a huge step up from their Dig Your Own Hole. My
complaint is it is too short. Anyway. Later.
