I found the MP3 for Moby's "Robot of Pop Feel Me Rock".
It's only 21 seconds long. I think it's really cool though.
Was it made for a television show or something? I've never
heard the whole story. Also, is there a longer version of this.

for all those people who have heard play, and have had
any opinion, thanks for sharing. i still have'nt heard
it- 6 DAYS!!! i would like to say-that in the day of
the $19.00 single disc-i really like the idea of 2 cd
sets. more music for the buck usually.
play 2 cd: did'nt moby already say that he wants to do
a remix or b-sides collection for play. that would be
a second cd. and if IT was a 2 cd set-that would be
the 2nd AND 3RD cd. also, the b-sides(or bonus tracks)
for the honey and run-on singles have been wonderful!
and in a couple of cases-more "techno-ish". so buy
them and love them!! support moby's various labels so
the man can keep releasing more music. maybe then(for
those of us who are interested)we can hear more of
those 182 throw-aways. :)

Do you think releasing many versions of the same song on CD-single is
capatilistic? Or how about releasing double CD's? If there was two
versions of Play (double and single) that were slightly different from each
other, would you buy both?

I thought we all knew how destructive this capitalistic system
is, so I emphasised one of the few less bad things about it...
There are probably more loose ends in my story, because
I just wrote down what I was thinking at that moment, still
feeling angry about Kees (not the Franz) for flaming this guy
because he just asked a harmless question about Play...
>Greed and selfishness is negative and basically that's what
>capitalism thrives on.
I believe that taking care of yourself is JUST as important as
taking care of others. Capitalism also thrives on freedom.
This freedom often causes people who can't handle it to be
greedy and selfish. With Communism there's no greed &
selfishness, but also provides very limited freedom.
It's like having to choose between 2 evils...
Luckily capitalism also offers you the freedom to choose NOT
to be greedy and selfish, it's just a bad thing that only few people
choose to live this way, because as a minority they become the
victim of the greedy & selfish persons.
Capitalism is a self-destructing system I believe.
I can think of 2 future scenarios:
1) People will go on being greedy and destructive to others and
their environment and acting like this will ultimately wipe out the whole
'civilized world' leaving only some yet undiscovered South American
and African tribes who have never heard of capitalism.
2) This is the kind of 'capitalism will eat itself' scenario....
People will start to see how destructive capitalism is and will use the
freedom capitalism provides to choose not to be greedy & selfish.
They will start looking for harmless ways of living and with that they'll
kill capitalism.
This Is the kind of utopia Tim was talking about that (I admit) probably
never will happen. And IF it will happen, it will probably not last long,
because I feel that for some strange reason human nature often tends
to choose evil after a while. Adam and Eve had peace (and a lovely
paradise to go with it), still Eve accepted the apple (evil) from the
devil...
I can't call myself a religious person, but I don't deny the existence of a
God either. If there is a God, I think he pulled a nasty (but fair) trick on
man by making us fight the main cause of all problems: ourselves.
Yes, we've got ourselves in some deep shit..And the really frightening
thing about it is, we can't blame anyone else! That's why I admire people
like Gandhi, who realised WE ALL are to blame for the shit that is
happening now and showed that to everybody. I only think Gandhi was
wrong by punishing himself for the errors of mankind, that didn't solve
anything, but he was a great example for the world.
It takes guts to blame yourself (as a species, that is..).
This is just the way I think, don't feel offended if you think differently.

Bart man, if I could I'd shake your hand right now...I
would. I can say I wholeheartedly agree with just about all
you said in this post. I don't advocate communism either
because that takes away your freedom, just like fascism.
All I advocate is a more socialist way of living with the
degree of freedom we have. Help yourself, but also help
others to help themselves, who aren't in a position to do
so. Sometimes I believe in karma too, but karma does not
force me to think like this. Humanity for a better, more
tolerant and caring society. I can't say I don't believe
there's something we like to call God, because there's no
logic for me in saying that something like the universe can
come from nothing (nothin is nothing in my book). However,
I also see many flaws in mainstream religions - man made
inaccuracies along with possible truths. I suppose I'm an
agnostic.

Yes, Rock The House and Move The Colors are longer (and better!)
than the versions on Early Underground. A real collectors Item!

Mike,
Moby did production, bass, & drums for "Wait A Minute", a new Jon Spencer
Blues Explosion b-side. It's on the UK Mute "Talk About The Blues" orange
7", an Australian "Calvin" CD single, and a Japanese Acme Remixes CD, which
is at my local Tower right now.
I'm glad I can return the info favor! Everybody, here's some information
Mike gave me regarding the Souvenier double vinyl promo he got today.
There's 3 other Moby remixes than the edit of the Moby Mix on that one OMD
Remixes CD. (there's a full length of that mix elsewhere, too, right?)

Man - It looks like you have studied everything in this FREAKIN
world, OTHER than Christianity. Christians do not believe that man is
the
center of the universe. You seem to have a lot of anger maybe? Not
quite
sure I want to know, but you have a lot of negativity towards alot of
things........
Chris, while it is true that the bible doesn't _specifically_ say that
man is the center of the universe, it does reflect that belief in many
ways. God is the center of the universe, we're second best since we were
created _in_god's_image_. The final step of creating the garden of eden
was creating man to hold dominion over it, as if the rest of the planet
couldn't handle itself with out us. While I am christian in that I
believe in the wisdom of Jesus, I can't bring myself to believe in much
of the stuff that the religion Christianity was based on teaches about
humanity's role in the world.
If you haven't already, please read _Ishmael_ by Daniel Quinn. I believe
that he's getting at much the same thing that I am trying to, but he's
_much_ better with words.
I try not to get off on these tangents, really, they just suck me in.
I'd be very interested in continuing this off list, or perhaps on the
veganism one.

friend,
that is not so...
i love you because you love Moby, and no point in that,
and i think yo didn't even read my whole message, cause i said only things
in regard to wanting MORE from Moby, which is a rare example of human
beings, i dont know if you follow the other debates or discussions going on,
but i want to inform you that the discussion is GOING towards: IS Moby
God...? or something like that, so better stay tuned...
What i was saying is as if you ask your MAIN man who already does so much!
He decides! SEPERATE from the Record-company-manufacturers-marketing GUYS,
with the suits and ties! What is gonna be released...
Yes, he could have brought FIVE cd's out to the market, in 1998, but he
didn't, he had to LISTEN!
Before he listened he to FANS or such creatures who always want to hear more GO!
"Every time you touch me I feel you need some More"
right?
I'm not agressive... I just state things
I wanted this reply I asked for it...
I want you to ask yourself: (I answered this already)
If I play 4 or 5 songs from the cd Play, 4000 times.... what would it help
me if I had 200 songs that I would play 5 times!?
Don't forget, that Moby is a genius
N.B.
frank-zappa-freaks had to wait for 15 (!) years to hear what FZ had to say
about 'Civilization Phase III"
in the beginning of the 80's it was already been recorded from lousy
radio.... the FIRST 4 LP's album in record history,8 sides!, I have to add
this EIGHT sides, he said that on the radio!] ... but Frank would not do
it... it took till 1995 or 6 untill it came out as a cd... double one, go
listen to it, most of the good stuff I knew already, from tapes, and the FUN
was the half cut tapes from Lumpy Gravey (1973!) or so, about the SMOKE
resolving all Problems, guy smoked 2 packages of WEST-cigarets a day,,,,
awefulll stuff, I'd never smoke that! But ya know.... Frank didn't wanna
RELEASE let go that Product of his mind! Because he wasn't sure, if it was
HIM....
That's my opinion ofcourse... but I know a lot about this little fellow, who
was almost as short as Moby!
Louis Armstrong ('Oh Baby!") ... was also very small, as a man...
small males are often breakbeats! I mean Salvadore Dali, was he tall?
O, we go into Helsinki-dub house here.... (radio)
frank Zappa is so rational, i hate him...!
I HATE FRANKZ!
