Hello there,
It has been a while since I've listened to that album. I agree that both
versions are better than only the import. Especially the remade version of a
track from the Voodoo Child album.

..hi
somebody else i know from the List, asked me this same above question...
it supposes, that you could yo spirit let go YOUR-Self? or...from what?
'your spirit' is a contradictory phrase, cause if the spirit goes, you goes...
..so, it's not 'it' ...it's YOUR spirit, so where will You go... It's not
something ELSE than me...
in fact this question stamps on all Rules that Wittgenstein wrote down about
Logic
In fact, the question should be: If you go, where would you go?
Implicizing that ppl would understand from this: after you died...
But there are also meditation-techniques, which i described in my signature
about listening into intuition and mayby yes maybe into meditation and
clairvoyance.... that's all extension of spirit... my spirti has been all
over the world, although I rarely move my ass
who made that thing up anyway?
since it was quoted...
Oh ANTS, ANTS, sorry!
So, if you asked: if you let your spirit extend beyond yourself, where would
it go to?
Then i would have said, at the moment to you... because i love writing about
this subject, and i want everybody to know...
Ants is my new discovery... just half a year ago or so, when Hollywood came
with that stupid Movie (i didn't see it yet, but I want to!) i dont know
what it's theoretically, but i thought a form of 1984 or so.... not good!
Just in that same week i developped my theory that Ants are the crown of
creation... (and not US)
if not Viruses... but that's a different story...
Ants are evolutionally speaking FAR FAR ahead of us...
Just a few weeks ago the ants-family were even front-page news! The quality
newspaper of this country wrote that an article in Science (not what you'd
call gossip!) had stated that ants did Agriculture way, way about 2 million
years ago! Or maybe even 2 million years before men even exists... they
still do that, grow their own mushrooms, the point is, they use different
ones at the same time... that is for being more resistant to diseases...
and...have you ever heard of WAR in an ants-mountain?
Yes,it's true...disabled ants get killed, ant a lot of females too (redundant)
but no-one tells the others what to do! They just ACT, all these millions of
millions of ants, in that mountain, as ONE organism
that's their religion. They are ONE...
Isn't that what ALL religions of menkind tell you, that if you give up
YOUR-self, for the WHOLE, then everything would be okay, you'd have no more
selfish Ego, you'd need no more Freud, or other stuff that makes you even
more sick... and best of all you don't need no Catholics! The BEST thing of
ants, they dont wear crosses!
Compared to ants, humans are pathetic
Okay, some asshole Lamarck or so, invented genetic zoologism, + another word
i cant find.... sort of nomenclatura of the animal kingdom, and Mammals,
this is animals who bare living breed, animals with mammals, so to speak...
they all produce milk, in a sort of way, which is protein, which means DNA...
So, i'm not advocating Darwin so much, i think he thought very religious
too, but see, what have we got with that terrific DNA of ours? I think Lions
are the best of the mammals, they never work, they live in small families,
mostly four or five males - one older male, and four younger than 4.... with
5 or 6 women... they do all the work, they give the food to the men and the
children (could be up to ten)... ONLY the eldest male gets access to the
ladies, so the strongest genes will survive...
I'm not saying this is GOOD or something, but how do you wanna change that
with RELIGION?
and still we keep thinking that WE are the INTELLIGENCE.... that WE invented
the WORD!
That this universe was here for our nice view...
So Darwin thought too (or he had to) that man was the Ultimate Animal
but why should we?
we aint
ALL Logic is against it
and Logic, dear kitty, is my religion
From a Darwinistic standpoint, so it is called, ants are far far ahead of us!
(but most convinced biologists will disagree with you, when you tell them,
because in fact, they are still christians, who believe that Man is the
center of the Universe, which he isn't...Otherwise i would have known by now!)
Take ALL the BOMBS of the nato, plus UN too, and kill all Humans on the
earth, then you would still have ants
Otherwise
Take all bombs of the earth and kill all ANTS, then there will be nothing
left... except viruses,
next time... :-)
You know something: in Dutch the word 'Logic' sounds like: 'did I lie?'
I never lie
when i lie i get tired
when i speak truth i get nrg!
my philosophy gets further and further and further,
but what i'm after is Integration.... that's my main word for tonighgt
sight

Hey! how the hell is everyone?? I haven't posted anything in ages.
um, anyway
at amazon.com they have two (U.S. versions I think)run on singles for
$10-11,
but no track listing, will anyone please tell me what the track listing
is?
are they worth getting?
I still haven't gotten a copy of "play" yet, so I don't even know what
run on sounds like. oh well. bye. thanks for any info.
for you guys that like moby's EOE, and gmotfotw you might want to check
out the soundtrack from "the THIN RED LINE". the 3rd track
on there is comparable to "gmotfotw" or "alone". an instrumental master
piece. in my opinion anyway. has anyone heard this?

i got play today. listened to it twice at work and played seven songs on
my radio show tonight.
all i can say is that i wish moby cut about 9 songs and extended the
other 9. all the songs are good, some are great! however, there are a few
"demo" sounding songs and just plain pointless ones. i'm too tired to go
into detail and no one really reads album reviews unless they have the
album anyway, or at least have an opinion about it already.
play is great, just a bit fat around the middle. oh, and let's all have a
moment of silence for the death of techno moby. only one real techno
song, and it's soooo good! why moby why?
ugg, i need to go to bed.

I'm glad to hear that Moby is getting some airplay. I only hear Moby on
the radio in the Netherlands when he's doing an interview and other pro-
motional stuff..
They never play Run On (or am I just listening to the wrong station (3FM)?)

I'm still hoping for a side project of Moby with some techno and ambient.
I don't want to sound like too much of a 'style purist' , I really like
Play, but
I do mis Moby's house/techno traxx (like in Oil1 on ILTS)...

So what?! Half of the world is a materialistic egoistic capitalist.
The 'never-enuff' attitude can (to a certain extend) even be a good thing.
For example:
- -Because people wanted to calculate formulas that were getting more and
more advanced and difficult, they invented calculators which were more
reliable and much faster than man. Because people still wanted more, these
calculators evolved into computers. Computers which you use to write these
flames on. ISN'T THAT IRONIC?
We have come so far with the 'never-enuff' attitude that it is too late to
say:
,,that's enough, let's stop here" because the human race would probably
die out within 50 years then... [this is in general.. nothing to do with
Play]
IMO if we should deside to stop wanting more, we should have done that
like 3000 years ago, when it was not to late and we weren't in this vicious
cycle in which we are now...
So please don't condemn anybody for wanting more, because over the
years a large part of mankind has both culturally and economically been
forced to want more. It's OK to not agree with everyone, but please state
your opinion in a polite manner, acting agressively only causes the other
party to feel hurt or to be agressive too.
I'm sorry the above has little to do with Play or Moby but I felt like
saying it.
Another thing:
When we all first heard that Moby was working on a new album and that it
was about to be released A LOT OF PEOPLE asked if it would be a 2CD.
At that time it wasn't entirely certain what it would be, but it would most
likely be a single disc. ALL THOSE PEOPLE were told in a friendly manner
that it probably would be a single disc. NOBODY flamed them for secretly
hoping for a 2CD. Now, after its release, if you only mention the word
2CD
you'd better start thinking about an asbestos suit to protect you from all
the
flames.
Why?
When I joined this list 3 months ago this seemed like a friendly internet
community, but after all these flamewars the past 3 months I'm not so
sure any more...Perhaps I'm wrong...PROVE ME WRONG!

Yes, Bart I do agree with much of what you are saying, but
where we have got to, just emphasises that the capitalism
we have at the moment, causes suffering to others and the
environment. Just because we have progressed
technologically doesn't mean we did it in the right way.
It's not so easy to see the suffering it has caused because
we don't really suffer physically, compared to the rest of
the majority, third world.
Greed and selfishness is negative and basically that's what
capitalism thrives on. Sustainability and community is
positive. It'll never be utopia, but trying to change what
we have got for the better,is surely a good thing.
Anyway, I'd be interested to hear Moby's view on this,
since he is concerned with the environment and animal
welfare, etc.
