(mobility) Disk CD ROM Problem

I wish it was as easy as just having an NEC CD-ROM drive. I thought
the instructions on the MOby.org site gave me a headache! ack!
I need to sit down and take my time with it. How the hell do I reboot
in MSDOS mode anyway?? I'll check my manual I guess.

I noticed on the CD it says, 'may not work on NEC CD Rom Drives'. Is yours
NEC? Mine is, and I haven't seen the videos in three years! There's some
interesting stuff on there including a Moby mix game that doesn't seem to
work too well (you mix in sounds while a techno beat plays in the background
but for some reason the sounds always lag behind). Good luck with it.

hellava lot better.
- If you buy any of the Run On singles they have an order form in
there for Moby t-shirts & stuff
- That Hymn version is great. I agree with you there. Maybe he'll do
it live some day ;-)

My cd-rom player didn't even recognise Disk as a data-cd, I could only
play the regular audio tracks. I solved this problem by giving Disk to
a friend who has like 5 different cd-rom players/writers.
He could read Disk and made a copy of the data part for me on a seperate
cd. This copy runs on my old crappy 4-speed cd-rom player, but my system
hangs if I start the Moby executable and click on the moving letters.
Instead
I click on the Elektra logo and go further from there... The audio clips and
the
videos I have to start from Explorer, but at least I can see (and hear)
them!
PS. I think you need a "multiread" cd-rom device to properly read Disk...

Chip,
How is it contradictory? I'd like to know 'cuz I consider myself a vegan
but I also drink occasionally. Probably something I never would have
thought to think about. PLEASE EXPAND MY LITTLE MENTAL WORLD!!!
Back to Moby, is there anyone on this list from Albuquerque other than
pickle? I want to go get Moby _now_ because I have $$ _now_, but I don't

i just wanted to say (if you are reading this moby) that it was awesome
meeting and chatting with you at the vancouver stop of your promo tour. i
was the blond guy with the white moby shirt-it's good to put a face to the
music every now and then.
and PLAY is a scheer act of brilliance. a creative masterpeice. i did
listen to the entire cd at the listening party, but the whole headphone
experience is what really amazed me. by far, in my honest opinion, the best
record of 99. a lot of folks have been saying great things about this
record-and unlike starwars episode 1, believe the word.
special thanks to v2/bmg, dj noah, melanie, dave and moby for a very cool
experience.
cheers-see you in august.

As a new member of the list I'd love for you to introduce yourself since it
is a great way of letting the other members of the mailing list know of your
presence. Information you should include are:
* Name: madflowr
* Age: 20
* What is in your Moby collection: 25? cds now. maybe 26? i cannot wait for
play to come out. oh lordy.
* Where you first heard Moby, and how much of a fan you are: um, i read a
review in spin about everything is wrong [i think they called it album of
the year or something like that] and i bought it because the description
sounded lovely. within a month, i had rare [the collected bsides], a bunch
of singles, and the move ep. i continued to collect throughout the past 2
years? methinks. i just fell in love with everything is wrong immediately. i
have to say that and the bonus cd little idiot [that came with animal
rights] are my favourite moby cds. and the strangest thing is i have not
even had the actual cd from everything is wrong since 12 dec 1997 because i
left it in my friends car stereo by complete accident]. that was the day i
saw moby and fell deeper in love with his music. i'm not big into electronic
music really and this was i like to score time methinks. the show was at the
9:30 club and i thought that i had no one to go with but at the last minute
i called my friend shenan and my friend nick and we all went and had a
completely excellent time. the first time i danced not in my bedroom. just a
great experience. and i met moby afterwards and he hugged me and i asked him
about doing an interview for my zine and he signed my copy of i like to
score and wrote his label's or agent's?
phone number down also but the interview never took place. i had my
questions and everything ready and i rang the office at the time the
interview was going to take place but no one was there. i still have the
questions if yr out there moby. :) oh my, no paragraphs...sorry.
so i just joined this week cos i love love love moby and chris[p] lisp
reminded me to join last night. :)
* Other artists you love: radiohead is my all time fave. moby is close.
HAYDEN. modest mouse. mogwai. belle & sebastian. anne summers. marion.
space. sunny day real estate. magnapop. eels. buffalo tom.
the dismemberment plan. symposium.
* Any other interesting information you wish to share: um music is my life.
really. it is what i want to be around forever. i go to a lot of shows. my
brother says i like music "that no one has ever heard of." i
live in washington d.c. and i believe moby is playing the hfstival
trancemissions tent this next saturday? can anyone confirm this? i got a
flier that said he was. in any case...i cannot wait to see him again. he
ended up playing a lot of cheesy covers last time i saw him cos it was the
last show [he talked about it in this interview recently in UR-washington].
woo! hello!
evol,

Isn't it something to do with the use of animal products in
the production of beer and wine? Fish bones and other
bizarre things spring to mind. I haven't gone that far yet
and don't think it's possible for me!

Ok ......now I am not trying to start another email war, but I can
resist. Whatever happened to the "Circle of Life"? Why did God put
animals on this earth? I can think of a few instances in the Bible where
God provided food (animals) for people who were starving. Of course, there
is those people who don't believe in God...well, that is their battle to
deal with before too long.
But honestly I am the first to admit that I have not studied
"veganism" and have nothing against it. And I know that no one is trying to
push veganism on anyone (trying to answer all the flames before they come).
Is it just purely a "health" thing?

Subject: (mobility) Disk CD ROM Problem
What all of you having problems with Disk need to do is find someone with a
Macintosh! It works fine on every Mac I've ever tried it on (OS 7 through
8.5 anyway). Play with the little program for a couple of hours, which is
plenty of time to get sick of it in my opinion, then copy the videos on to
a PC formated zip disk (Macs read PC formatted disks but PCs don't read mac
formatted disks.... hmmmmm) or something else big enough to hold them. The
videos are really small Quicktime videos of Hymn (This is my Dream) and
Everytime You Touch Me (Beatmasters Mix) and are in a folder easily found
by scrolling down a bit in the root of the CD ROM. For those of you who
can't get the program to work you aren't really missing much. The only
cool thing is the history of techno according to moby (maybe somebody
should transcribe that and post it). That create your own mix thing gets
old fast. Well, hope i've helped someone.
