I noticed on the CD it says, 'may not work on NEC CD Rom Drives'. Is yours
NEC? Mine is, and I haven't seen the videos in three years! There's some
interesting stuff on there including a Moby mix game that doesn't seem to
work too well (you mix in sounds while a techno beat plays in the background
but for some reason the sounds always lag behind). Good luck with it.

Mobyfans...
I had a few questions / comments, so I'll get right to them...
1) I found an import single at CDNow of the Moby "James Bond Theme." They
want $10.50 for it. It seems to have quite a few mixes on it, but I'd like
to get a few opinions on it. Anybody have any?
2) Does anyone know where I can get Moby t-shirts? I've seen them in
pictures, but have never seen one for sale anywhere....
3) To whomever mentioned that Moby had abandoned his anti-drinking stance...
Yes, I had read about that. I even went so far as to write to Moby (via
regular mail) and ask why... I (of course) got no reply. It's kind of
contradictory to be vegan and drink, 'cause there's a bit of interaction
between the two... But, that's ANOTHER mailing list... ;o)
4) For whatever it's worth, I'd have to say that Hymn (This Is My Dream) is
the best Moby song ever. Closely followed by Move. Shining is good, too.
And... ;o)
5) I glanced through the archives of this list, and noticed something about a
Moby compilation tape list... What was this?
6) There is no number 6.
7) I saw on CDNow that Moby was supposed to remix a song by Soulfly. Anyone
have this or heard it?
Well, as to not wear out my welcome on the list, I'll quit now.
- - Chip (wishing he hadn't made plans for next weekend... I drove to Dallas
to see Pitchshifter, so why not Moby? [BTW, if you like Pitchshifter's music,
DO NOT MISS them live... I saw them twice in one week, once here in Memphis,
then drove to Texas. They are THAT good. Plus. they are all vegetarians...

probably my last posting to this list until october.
What i would say to Moby's essays is, that i highly appreciate them. I'm not
much convinced they'd make a lot of people better, just because (as it was said
here before), the people who get to read them are not the ones, who should
mostly become better. But the essays give me a lot. They empower my belief and
give me a hope that things will be better once, because there are still many
people who share moby's thoughts and want to be better and make others better.
This might sound a bit fundamentalistic, with the "turning2better", but it
depends on the way you spread your opinions. and writing essays on a booklet of
a good CD, is a peaceful one.
We used the essay from EIW cd during my highschool studies, we were a bunch of
animal rights activists then. well, we didn't make any revolution, nor any big
success, but we had the FEELING we're doing a good thing and we were happy
about it.
The essays on PLAY (i have it already!!! dear american friends, i am with you,
i wish you a lot of patience until the june (or what the date of release there
is) and i feel very sorry for the time you have to wait. but look forward 2it),
well, so the essays on play are again something worthy and they deal with a lot
of problems. moby has already several times said something i had in mind
before, so i feel connected to him, just the way lot of you does (i hope) and
these essays are that case as well.
i highly recommend to read the essays, to let your friends read it and in case
you agree with what's written in the booklet, do something for it!
(as moby said on EIW mixed+remixed, on EIW there was a list of things which
were wrong, here is a short list of things to make things better)
and another PLAY thing: I REALLY LOVE "7" and i'd like to defend it from nasty
nicknames such as "filler" or that kinda. yes, it is short, it is not so much
expressive (in fact, it IS a filler :) ), BUT: i like it a lot. it reminds me
of SWAY. i just don't like the fadeout at the end. it should have a CUT end.
but do not blame 7 before you listen to it thoroughly.
so long my dear endurant friends, love to all of you, Play is a great album,
because it offers most of the different faces of a man called MOBY and it's
LONG, so that anyone could find a song he likes. but i hope you like them all
as i do.
LAUGH, PEAS and HAIRMONY!!!

Yes, this is pretty expensive. It is an import (for u guys in the US).
It has 6 versions of the James Bond Theme including remixes by:
- - Grooverider (jungle)
- - Da Bomb (club-house)
- - 2 mixes by CJ Bolland (1 bigbeat and 1 trance mix)
- - Dub Pistols (electro)
I really like the Grooverider and the Dub Pistols mix!
Nice single.

Go to http://www.mutelibtech.com/mute/ , go to the Moby section, there
probably is some info about merchandise...

Anyone
>have this or heard it?
Yes, I have a magazine in which was a Soulfly contest where you could win
the album and some singles including one called "Umbabarraumba"
There was a picture of the front of the single and in big letters next to it
stood
INCL. REMIX BY MOBY. This single wasn't officially released yet during that
contest, but when it was officially released I hurried myself to the music
store
and was really glad to see they had the single... I was less glad to see
that
there was absolutely NO Moby remix on it!
I'm not really into Soulfly, so I didn't buy the single.
What could this be?

Now I write:
Yes, the Twin Peaks theme sample is why Go is on ILTS, but the ILTS
version is different from other versions of Go, because Moby re-recorded
his older songs (Go + Ah-Ah) exclusively for ILTS. This version of Go was
never on any soundtrack.
I think Moby did a great job making a '97 verion of Go!

They only happen to be the hottest, most exciting British dance/pop
live-act of the moment. Today they play live on Pinkpop in the Netherlands
and they will also be on the Belgium 'Werchter' festival. They are VERY
popular in Europe. I have 2 albums by them and almost all the singles.
Their style is as eclectic as Moby's, they do everything from 'epic-house'
("Insomnia") to stirring ballads ("why go") If you like Moby, you'll like
them too!

yep,
when play came out in Holland, Moby was on a radio-station called 'Kink-FM'
where they usually play Nirvana, and what have you... (Soundblastergarden)
it was just because that guy had interviewed Moby years earlier, when Go
came out or so...
I would have expected him on New Dance Radio,
but the good thing of that channel is:
that they dont do any talking shit at all: non-stop DANCE...!
That is my channel!
anyway, M. wasn't telling much that i hadn't already heard,
except few things bout Play, that i couldn't find in the Booklet so quickly,
but that's because these SMALL letters that they ALL use...
i'm gonna start a campaign for Newspaper-format cd-booklets!

Don't order the single. It is full of crap. When I ordered it, supposedly,
there were 8 tracks on it(I thought it was the Australian release).
However, when I ordered it, the England 6 track showed up. There are only 2
good songs, 1 and 2. I would search for the 8 track instead, that's what
I'm doing.
