i forgot you guys wouldn't have the background to understand the madonna
comment.... its too long of a story to explain. lets just say it involves
gwen's change in style (clothes), Evita, and whole bunch of other things.
see... there's this girl who goes to my school who is obsessed with madonna
and gwen blah blah blah... see? too hard to explain.
but i'll attempt to explain why i dislike her so much. for one thing, she
made funs of Canadians, and the way we speak. she claims that we dont say
"no doubt" properly. she's a ditz. granted, she has more to say than oh,
the spice girls. but still... not exactly a stronge female rolemodel for
femmes growing up right now...
another thing is that the only reason she's in the band was that she was a
girlfriend/groupie of one of the guys in the group, and took over as lead
singer when the first one killed herself.
but whatever. this isn't a no doubt mailing list (thank GAWD. cuz if it
was, i'd totally be in the wrong place...) so.......
*ahem*
back to moby.
moby rules eventho he choses to acssociate himself with "interesting"
people.

first of all kelbert-moby does rule!! that was for all
the people that are annoyed that we keep talking about
stuff that is'nt moby related. but if he is
listening-or even getting these passed on hearsay-WHY
DID HE THANK GWEN? someone must know.

OK!! YOU WIN ON THAT POINT ALONE! i laughed for 2
minutes. i kind of(a little) like no doubt-but still
agree-very funny!
but on the rest i'm not female-not canadian-or just
don't care. my point was more that she must have done
something kind for moby or he would'nt be wasting his
valuable print space with her name. that's all.
hey! have you aver thought of starting an anti-gwen
list...uhh..bad. sorry!! that's a little to negative
for me-just could'nt resist!

My, personal views:
CroBar - Club, good music, a little snooty though. Where Moby
spun a couple weeks back.
Karma - big hit or miss. I saw Sasha spin there Saturday. Club.
I've been there on nights where the mood was almost erotic, and
other nights when I thought I woke up in frat hell.
Voyeur - Some good music, only been there once but the people were
really hot and couldn't dance for shit. Club.
RedDog - Bar/club - haven't been there in a while, but they have
some sweet DJs come through once in a while
MadBar - Bar with some good funky DJs, getting a bit trendy though
SmartBar - complete hole in the ground, under the Metro, small, but I've
heard some WICKED tunes spun here. Hit or miss.
Neo - bar/goth club. I'm not that into Inustrial/Goth, but EVERY
time I go there its fun. Small club.
That's off the top of my head - there are many others. Thursdays are big
club nights in Chicago...any of the larger ones will have shit going on.
Come to think of it, is there anywhere on the web that actually REVIEWS
clubs? You can pick up a Reader in Chicago and it will tell you some
basic info, but there is no way to know what does and does not suck.
Hope that helps a little - I've been less into the club scene lately, so
I'm not sure how much that'll help....

OK SORRY FOR NON MOBY RELATED THING HERE, BUT I JUST SAW PHANTOM MENACE.
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!! (sorry for the poor use of language, but to see it will
leave you all with a lack of speech--meaning drool)
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE, I SAW A TUESDAY NIGHT SNEAK PREVIEW SHOWING AND IT
BLEW ME AWAY.
Anyone who wants to see this movie and has fears that it will not live up
to expectations you must not worry, the Phantom menace is for real. I
believe I will go out tomorrow and buy the score, very enticing.
Again, sorry for the non-Moby related item here folks, but it is four in
the morning here up in Canada, and I am pumped now. I am so awake now but
will try to sleep anyways.

It also includes several previously unreleased remixes of
EIW songs:
- - Anthem (cinematic version) [i love this one!!!]
- - Everything Is Wrong (quiet mix) [this one is great too!!]
- - First Cool Hive (minimal version) [VERY minimal...]
- - Let's Go Free (reversal mix) [the song played backwards..]
- - ATINITBL (melodic mix) [one of my all time
favourites!!]
- - When It's Cold I'd Like To Die (instrumental) [a LONG track 9:05]

Christian is right! The ambient stuff is great!

I bought SSF for Go (subliminal mix unedited version)
But then again, MOBY has the original version of Next
Is The E and Drop A Beat... difficult choice...
I have both CDs..

Yes, I'd also suggest Early Underground.
Is Instinct Dance still available then? I didn't know that.
Unfortunately both CDs include some shorter, edited
versions of the original 12" tracks. I wish Drug Fits The
Face were and Voodoo Child (remix) were longer...
>> Again is it necessary to buy the Honey-Run On
>> single, or the Run on (Extended) one...
Phew, this is a difficult one... I didn't take any risks and
have them all (including the 12"). If you have the money
I'd say: buy both! The Honey/Run On single has some
cool remixes and the Run On (extended) has some ultra
great b-sides!...Again, difficult to choose...

Here in Europe the Hymn 12"s are not that hard to find.
I have them both on backorder right now. The 12" mixes
are also on disc 2 of EIW dj mix album.
For Feeling So Real I'd suggest getting the US 9-track
CD single (contact Steve Giles if you want it cheap!)
It has all the FSR mixes that were released!
As for EYTM, I'd suggest getting the both UK singles.
Then you will have all (re)mixes except for the Organic
Mix and the remixes of the rest of the remix-competition
winners that are on the US promo 12" and the 2nd UK 12"
