  64. The Dutch tv guide the "Veronica gids" made Play
  65. "CD Of The Week" in their cd-review section.
  66. Here's a translation of the review:

  69. Perhaps even the most beautiful record of Moby so far!
  70. At least it's the best record of the moment! All written,
  71. produced, mixed and sung by himself. Oh, and he also
  72. happens to play all the instruments!  Influenced by the black
  73. music of the beginning of this century and by hiphop of this
  74. moment (Jay-Z, Timbaland, Busta Rhymes) Richard Hall
  75. ('cause that's Moby's real name) created a CD with style.
  76. ,,Play" is just as varying as mr. Moby himself.  Sometimes
  77. a bit dark, sometimes a bit frightening, stirring, energetic

  83. Dj magazine, but I'm a bit frightened Run On won't reach
  84. the charts. Dutch music tv stations don't play the clip, radio

  158. time I listen to it.  I especially love the tracks towards the end. They
  159. kind of remind me of Hymn and God Moving over the face.......

  295. his interviews, we all know how forthright he is about this stuff, 
  296. and we're all famililar with him just saying whatever comes to mind 
  297. about whatever you ask him about. My guess? He's probably never been 
  298. asked if he was gay in an interview. I'm sure if he'd been asked 
  299. three or four years ago he'd have said so, but wasn't till now. Just 
  300. a guess, but I don't think an invalid one.

  317. Hey, It is about time someone said that they didn't like PLAY. Everyone was
  318. raving about Run On, and I still can't get into that one, so at least having
  319. one person not like it makes me feel better about my chances of LIKING  it.

  321. Next, as far as the selling out conversation that seem t happen every three
  322. months, i just want to say I think that they reason peopel hate "sell outs" is
  323. that when some techno guy becomes famous, the fan loses the ability to show
  324. their friends the music for the first time. It is pretty cool to give a CD to
  325. a friend who thinks techno music is ACE of BASE and shittign club music and
  326. then have them be HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME. IF radio and MTV takes that
  327. chance from us, well then I guess people get sour. Also, everyone calls
  328. Prodigy a sell out. Justified. Me too. But you can't call Crystal Method or
  329. Fat Boy Slim sell outs. It was the first album, so did they real have a past
  330. to sell out? I don't think Chem Bros sold out, they just made a horrible album
  331. after a pretty good first one. And, what is the deal with this TECHNO GUYS
  332. word. What is the deal with the TECHNO GIRLS? I remember this conversation
  333. too, but is there really any big SOLO tecno girls. Bjork always seems to get
  334. listed in the ROCK section in HMV and TOWER, and other than her I can't think
  335. of anyone.

  337. Finally, Chris, you are new right? One more thing I wanted to say is, I don't
  338. really care, but for some odd reason, some people get pissed as hell if you
  339. cross list post. I you want to post something to more than one list, you
  340. should send it as two seperate mails. I don't know why. But also, remember
  341. that there are some peopel on more than one list. So, I read that Orbital
  342. Concert Mail on the Orbital List and then again when you forwarded it here. If
  343. that guy who posted it were on this list too, he might get quite pissed as
  344. well. You should say where you got it. Just trying to keep us out of trouble,

  489. - - They get them directly  from the record companies. (reviewers)
  490. - - Or they get them in 2nd hand music stores where reviewers dump
  491.   their records. (I got some nice promo's this way...)
  492. - - Or they work at a radio station (or know someone who works there).

  534. time, and Run On been the record of the week recently it seems likely to
