Wow. This looks like an awesome release. I really hope this is true.
Has anyone else heard about this 82-89 collection. Maybe we can
hear "The New Wave Moby".

Speaking of interviews. Moby did one for this week's 'Boyz'
- - London's trashy, free gay paper. He's finally come out
and said he's bisexual. He had some interesting things to
say about his beliefs and relationships. I forgot to ask my
friend to lend me the paper - so I could remember exactly
what he said.
I can't wait to hear the album - officially released
tomorrow over here!

HI,
Moby said he's bisexual? I would like to hear what he has to say about
that seeing that he says thanks to christ on just about everything he
releases...and seeing that the church doesn't care for homo/bi-sexuality.
>He's finally come out and said he's bisexual.
Not that I care, I just would like to hear what he has to say about it.

Well Bri,
I do remember him saying in the interview that he despised
much of conventional Christianity practised by many who
claim to be 'Christians'. He said that Christ never
condemned gay people to hell, but preached the message of
love, understanding and forgiveness, rather than bigotry
and blindness. He said if mainstream Christianity became
less right-wing he might go back to church.
In any case there are several churches who go by a pro-gay
stance - though obviously in the minority. I also know of
several rapidly growing 'ministries' that are at least
accepting gay people though they still go by the old
testament teaching that homosexuality is wrong. However,
they believe intimacy between the same sex is good, as long
as it doesn't lead to sexual relations.

Any guesses as to why he waited so long with this issue?
Moby has generally seemed to be very open in regards
to his beliefs, why would he keep this undercover
where he's been so open with an issue that generally
doesn't go over well in many subcultures (christ) or an
issue like animal rights, which can be just as divisive as
sexuality to the general populace?
Or, is it just a feeling he has that he has never acted on?

He said that there was always some sort of chemistry going
on with both sexes as he was growing up at various times in
his life. He was quite happy sticking to the opposite sex,
but it was only in the last 5 years that he found himself,
quote 'making out with some guy' after partaking in a
threesome, fivesome or whatever. He's open to that, but is
not forcing feelings in any particular direction. I will
have to see the article again to get more accurate
information on this.
Maybe it's the first time he's done an interview with a gay
paper and he felt that it was appropriate to talk about his
sexuality? The questions he was asked were all about his
beliefs and relationships, as well as his music. Maybe
there was no need for him to talk about his sexuality until
this interview? Je ne sais pas.

I have an interview in which Moby says that he gets turned on
by dead people... (of course this is a joke!)

You live in the UK, right? Hmm, then it shouldn't be too difficult
for me to order Play from there.

i think, that the question of sexual orientation is a very private one,
so it is somehow different from the other "divisive" declarations. and
it seems to be a "none of your busines" question, unlike when speaking
about animal rights, environment or even christianity, (which is also a
private one, but not that much, i think).
i've had the feeling, moby might be gay, for a long time ago, it stems
from his appearance and opinions, he seemed to me like a kind of too
much sensitive and open to be straight. i feel very happy, that moby has
come out, i like him some more now, (if it is possible to like him more:) )
But these are just my opinions about the qusetion of sexuality, it is probable,
(if not even sure), that moby had different reasons for keeping it a secret
until now.
i'm so happy, happy, happy. isn't this mr.hall a fabuolous person?

I dont really care about what he (non-injuring to other people) does to
get fun... mainly because I'm not fond of him :)
Anyway, as for I've read in the list, he's had esporadically several
gay experiences, which doesnt make him gay. You should differentiate
between gay behaviour and homosexualism (or bisexualism).

i'm sure you ment well, but it's pretty offensive to say (for people of
both sexual prefrences) that being gay means being open and sensitive.
shouldn't everyone be sensitive? if i'm sensitive (and what does this
mean, really...) do i have to like having sex with other men? if i share
my deepest fears and strongest joy with my girlfriend, do i have to dump
her for a guy? "it seems from his appearance..." what does a gay (or
in this case bi) person look like?
once again, i think you ment well, but that's all the more reason to
check your words.

if you're so "happy" for moby, why can't you ask for the magazine that
he's in? are you afraid that the shopkeeper will think you're gay? if so,
doesn't this negate all your previous statments?

NOt only that song, but FACE IT is a really great song. I love how

song. ROCK ON MOBY!

can't appreciate the power. When Moby does it live, you FEEL the base

HI,
You know, I had the same experience w/ 1000. First time I heard it, I
thought it to be a pointless track. See it live, though, totally changed
my mind as well.
>What was he trying to say?
Not speaking for the person who originally wrote the letter, but for me,
seeing the song live just showed the raw power - and emotion - of the song.
It's an energy release...showing that ppl can do what ever they so
choose...making the most out of life...AND enjoying the moment.
That's just my take on it.
Cheers!
