Please forgive my ignorance, but what is Electro Circus? Is it on
the radio? Where?

It is called "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" and it's a great song,
IMHO. The track listing for _Play_ has been posted on mobility and
is on the web at http://www.moby.org/reviews/play.html

Excellent! That's actually kind of an odd place to play it, since
"Honey" is not techno, but at least they played it.

Thanks for the history lesson. :) I didn't know where the sample
was from, but I think it's been used by others after the Orb made
"Blue Room". Also, I'm 99% sure there is a Mad Professor remix of
"Blue Room". Was it done by Mad Professor, or is the name just a
tribute to him/them? Does Mad Professor have any other connection
to the Orb?
Speaking of the Orb, I understand that they should have a new album
and single out very soon. Also, Orbital and Underworld have new
singles and albums out or just about to come out, and from what
I've seen & heard, they're pretty good. 1999 is a good year for
music.
BTW, Moby fans should get together and chat sometime. We can do it
easily in the Moby clubs at Yahoo!

BTW2, thank you Tommy <T4dpolE@aol.com> for sending me that nicely
cropped scan which I turned into moby.org's latest header graphic!

Then I added:
The Mad Prof. did a Remix of "Towers of Dub", which appears on one
of the Blue Room Singles. It's really trippy. Personly, I find it to
be on of the best remixes of the song.

I have an MP3 of the new Orb song. It fuckin rocks! It's called
'Once More'. Not like any other Orb song. I can see this going
top ten in the UK easily...
Cheers!

If I'm not mistaken, they're friendly with Mad Professor. It makes sense--Neil Fraser (aka Mad Prof) is from England, not Jamaica, so they've got some proximity to him.

Turns out that the new Orbital (which from friends' talk is supposed to be AMAZING) isn't coming out domestically!! Can you believe that?! Oh well--my guess is that when underworld debuts at no. 2 on the Billboard charts--or at least in the top 10--it'll get out here. Meantime we have to buy the import...
BTW: I now officially love Play. Really. Stayed away from it a few days and put it on again and it's WONDERFUL. I really underestimated it. I have a feeling this will happen with some of you as well. It's a new thing, especially for Moby, and it's worth the time it takes to appreciate it. Really.
PS: I am now (semi) officially going to Chicago and Cleveland to see the Little Idiot DJ. Haven't hammered out details, but it looks like I'll buy a 7-day Ameripass on Greyhound ($199 for unlimited mileage) and take an overnight to Chicago, get the next one to Cleveland, and then go to NYC for a day or maybe more, if I can get the time off work. (My friend Jason is doing a radio show--webcast--and wants me to help him interview rave historian and critic Simon Reynolds, author of Generation Ecstasy/Energy Flash, a great great great book that only mentions Moby once, unfortunately...)
