I think 'When it's cold I'd like to Die' on the mixed and remixed
Everything is Wrong album is sublime.
I see someone struggling against everyday life and then just leaving
it all and climbing a large hill and just sitting at the top until it
gets dark and cold and then going to sleep and not waking.
I suppose that that is quite abstract but it is kind of what the
track evokes for me.

i think we all have stores like that in our hometowns.
in toronto there's some place (i dunno if its a store or a bar or what)

slightly stupid. at least i don't have to worry about coming across a

Big news! As of sometime last week, Moby is signed to V2 Records!
V2 Records will release _Play_ in the USA probably in mid/late June,
and will also put out a _Honey/Run On_ promo 12".
V2 Records is Richard Branson's new UK-based label. Its offices in
the USA have been around for two years. Branson, who owns Virgin
Airlines, Virgin Megastore, Virgin Cinemas, etc., was in the news
last year as he and Steve Fossett attempted to fly around the world
in a hot air balloon. He used to own Virgin Records, but sold it to
EMD to fund his airline.
Moby is joining Underworld, the Stereophonics, Mercury Rev, N'Dea
Davenport, Grandaddy, Tin Star, Billy Crawford, One Minute Silence,
and other artists on the V2 Records roster.

Hi, I'm a new member person, so I'll tell you all who I am....
I'm Tom, I'm 18, and I'm in college, there, that's out of the way.
The first time I knowingly heard anything by Moby was when I was
revisising for a my GCSE's and had Radio 1 on. ( actually, revising
included bashing the wall with a hammer, looking at my notes and rocking
backwards and forwards a lot, but anyway) On radio one, soon as I turned
on was the Redding ( is that how you spell it,? nah, probably not) and
there was Moby on the radio, live, playing That's When I Reach For My
Revolver, the song completely blew me away, so I hit the record button
on a blank tape in my tape-radio player thingy. After that was a rock
version of Everytime You Touch Me, and then it was over. I think Garbage
were on after that, I can't remember.
A while later I saw an advert in Metal Hammer for Animal Rights, I
searched for it in the shops, but came against one major problem. I live
in Scarborough, and all the musci shops are shite. I did get Everything
Is Wrong, which was cool. Eventually, after much searching I got hold of
Animal Rights. A week before that a friend had found the limited edition
version in the library and taped it for me, but I didn't just want a
copy ( home taping is killing music). The Album was, is, fantastic,
amazing. And as every one of my friends agrees, Face It is, well,
amazing. I read all the esseys and they are amazing, a few friends, who
are vegans, read them and thought they were great as well.
Anyhow, that's that. I don't have a large collection ( I've got a
little collection) but here's a list ( some thanks to friends who saw
them in shops)
Albums..... Everything Is Wrong
Animal Rights ( UK version)
I Like To Score
Singles.... Bring Back My Happiness ( I bought it for In My Life)
Hym.alt.quiet.version
Honey
Other Stuff.. Animal Rights: Live At the Splash Club
I would like to have more, but that involves spending money, which I
don't habve much of. Ah well.
Other artists I like, er, ones with guitars really. Metallica I like a
lot. I'm also one of the few Guns 'n Roses fans left ( well, it feels
like it sometimes) Garbage as well.... Terrorvision....and, other stuff.
Any other infomation, er, no.
Oh, when is the new album coming out, does anyone know?
Sorry, I've written too much, so long........

Hello. This is my introduction bit.
My name is Helen. I'm 18 yrs old. In my Moby collection I have 'The
Story So Far', 'Everything is Wrong', and the 2cd version of 'Animal
Rights' all on CD. I have 12" versions of 'Move' and 'Honey' and, on
tape, a copy of Oil 1 and the James Bond theme. I love Animal Rights
most of all because I am into rock music rather than dance. I first
heard Moby at Greenbelt 96 (a big Christian arts festival in England).
At that time I didn't have much interest in music except(this is
embarrassing) Abba and Michael Jackson. Moby's performance blew me away
and his words in between the songs seemed relevant too. Since then, I
am pleased to say, my music tastes have improved vastly because Moby
introduced me to rock. However I like most of his dance stuff anyway
and think he's a genius. Other artists I like include Nirvana, Travis,
Terrorvision, Hole, Fatboy Slim and Offspring.
As for other info, I'm Welsh and very proud of it.

Yes me too. I think it is an amazing album, full of emotion and
pain.

I first heard him the year before at Greenbelt 95. He completely
blew my socks off, but I wasn't really open minded to dance at the
time so that was that. The year after I also heard him at GB96 and
thats when I really got into him. After that I went out and brought
Everything is Wrong, The Remixes and That's when I reach for my
Revolver. I saw him later that same year down in Cardiff, where I
did my music degree.

It seems like we have some things in common,
we both like moby, metallica and guns 'n' roses!

Did you get the limited edition (2cd) of EIW or the regular cd?

Not a very big, but still a great moby collection, some of (in my opinion)
moby's best releases are in it (and the limited Live at the Splash Club!)
You're lucky you got Bring Back My Happiness, I'm still looking for it.
I think it's still available on the internet but I don't have a credit
card...Shit!
>Oh, when is the new album coming out, does anyone know?
The UK release is due for May the 17th.
The US release will probably be released in mid/late June.

What makes a good record company? Personally I'd like to
support small independents, rather than the big companies
who are in it for the money more than the music. If Elektra
did kick Moby out because of AR then I think Moby
definitely made the right move. Sod the fuckers.

While reading reviews one day in the moby review/discography section,
I read over and over again "It's a shame Elektra did not release a
version of this on their label". While Mute has done it's seems just
about everything to support moby, it was evident that Elektra saw not
to follow in their showcase of moby's work, in the extent that Mute
has!
While it is still a subject of debate as to the reason's for moby's
departure. One thing is certain. Moby is far better off elsewhere to
see his music grow in North America.
On another note, is the Clash tribute album out today, or am I just
getting anxious to hear moby play duet with Heather Nova. Has anybody
heard this song yet???

Hi everyone! I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Amber,
and I'm 17,and I live in Michigan in the USA. I really love Moby; he
is one of my favorite musicians. The albums I have by him are
Everything Is Wrong, Animal Rights, and I Like To Score. EIW is
probably the best dance record I've heard, and Animal Rights is a
great rock album. I also like U2, Jeff Buckley, and the Verve. If
anyone is interested in being e-pals, you can write to me ( you can
write to amberlilac@yahoo.com also). Has anyone heard if Moby is
going to tour for his new album? I hope he comes to Michigan because
I'd love to see him in concert! :)
