You bet. I have stuffit Expander for my power mac. This allows me to
tranfser many files from it's original form, including .zip files. That
would be great, if you could do that. THanks greatly! Any further
questions, you can just send me privately, so as not to distract the
mobility crowd! THanks again.

There's no set price -- just whatever the buyer & seller agree to. Since
it only has two tracks, both of which are the same as the album tracks,
I'd guess probably only a few dollars.

Ok gotta ask, what is "Run On" like, and how did you get a copy of it!
Is it like Porcelain or Honey, details I need details!
Oh and one more thing, I know he will probably never hear this, but I will
feel better to get this off my chest! To the DJ who was playing at the club
I was at last light who refused several requests to play Moby, but instead
only accepted requests for only the more main stream songs like Korn,
Prodigy, and several Garbage songs-- "you prick" What is the point of
having requests from the crowd if all your going to play is what you want
to hear, and what we hear on the radio 10 times a day already. I just
wanted to hear something different from the Animal Rights album which he
said he had but never played because "no one would know who he is" I'm sure
you guys have stories somewhat the same, but hey what is the point of
having the attitute 'no one will like it, because it's not on the radio,
just play it and see what it could do! No harm in that, you might be
surprised by the reaction.
Enough about that though, I've got the million dollar question right now
(all cheque's will bounce of course). I was playing EIW two days ago and
noticed that the song "Anthem" has a vocal sample 3 quarter's of the way
in, which sounds like Mimi Goese, but no credit was given. Is this a sample
used from one of the other two songs, or had she indeed lent her voice for
a third song. Play it, it's right near the end. It is bugging me to find
out.
Peace
Brett McSherry
P.S. and oh yeah, Daniel I would still love to hear what Run on is like. Or
anyone for that matter.

Some people were very cool about hooking me up, so I have a promo CD
and 12" of "Run On". Expect more details and a full review of the
single once I've heard the B-sides.
"Run On" is musically akin to "Honey". It samples "Run On For A Long
Time", an old song by Bill Langford & The Langfordaires. There are
three entire sung verses and a chorus, all from this old recording.
Moby constructed "Honey"-like music around it, but with a different
mood.
Basically, it sounds like the singer was praying and God told him to
"tell the gamblin' ramblin' backslider God Almighty gonna cut him
down". Further verses do things like warning against having an
affair with your neighbor's wife.
You might run on... for a long time
Run on, ducking and dodging
Run on [children/journey/???] for a long time
Let me tell you God Almighty gonna cut you down
Toward the end of the song, strings/pads are added to the piano and
drums, giving the song harmonic fullness. This is joined by a nice
guitar sound (sorry for the vague description (it's kind of like the
descending guitar note at the end of DM's "Policy of Truth")) as the
song fades out. The extended version -- my favorite at this time --
starts with drums like "Honey (118 Mix)" and does not fade out.
The cover art is like that of "Honey", but with a mousetrap against
a red background instead of a pumpkin against a black background.
Inside (or on the back, for the 12"), a Moby stares expressionlessly
out of three identical black & white photographs, which apparently
were taken in the same photo shoot as the "Honey" pictures. Instead
of wearing an undershirt, Moby is in a heavy jacket, and looks kind
of grim, like he's been on the run (coincidence?). These pictures
and the credits are against a light-yellowish pea-green background.

I just got back from Philly a few hours ago... wow... i can't believe how
moby related a trip to see richie hawtin could be... I'll deal with them
in the order that it happened. this is all pretty much fluff. feel free
to ignore.
first things first. i had to change buses in new york. do you have any
idea how tempting it was to catch a later bus and run around new york and
try and find moby???? hehehe... the next time im going down to philly i'll
probably buget time specifically for stalking moby in new york. does
anyone know any places that moby has been known to hang out at?
the next thing, which is unconfirmed but still really cool. there were two
DJs playing before richie hawtin. the second one, i SWEAR played moby. or
at least a collection of moby-like clips with a really neat beat. anyone
else here go to the show that can confirm/deny what i'm saying here? i
thought it was amazing... i spent like, an hour trying to convince the boi
to dance and finally he started dancing just before the track in question
came on. so there i was, just standing off to the side, watching the boi
having the time of his life while listening to moby. one of the coolest
moments in my entire life.
i could also mention how i finally got a chance to give the boi his very
own copy of end of everything. but i wont. oh wait. i just did :) *yawn*
need to go catch up on some sleep. nah na nah nah nah! i was three feet
away from richie and you weren't!!! :P hehe. sorry. i just couldn't help
myself. peace.

Check out Wax Trax and Albums On The Hill in Boulder, and Wax Trax
in Denver. I don't know what Moby stuff they have now, but I got
the Moby "Hymn" singles at Wax Trax in Boulder several years ago.
Still, I have yet to find any store anywhere that compares to the
selection found on the Internet.

Subject: (mobility) Thanks 2 Update
For Thanks II, to date, I've received the following:
Eric M. Goldberg:
Moby - Everything Is Wrong (Revival)
Moby - Myopia (Tone Matrix Mix)
Andrew J. Davies:
Drug Fits the Face (Epsilon mix)
M Four (G Eleven mix)
Geoffrey Sproule:
Sound (Noise)
Sound (Onomatopoeia)
Johan:
All That I Need Is To Be Loved (Ormulum mix - did I spell that right?)
Daniel Lee:
Go (the Exodus mix)
"Phathead" :) (cool tape - which ones do you want on it?)
Next is the E (next is the speed)
Drug Fits the Face (SDI's abstinence)
...some others (this isn't all Moby, no?)
Before I move all of these into digital format (I have some of them
already converted) and post them for d/l, I want to make sure this is
everything I've been sent, do date. If you sent me something, and it's
not listed above, DON'T PANIC, but please contact me. Also, when
contacting me, please include the date you shipped it, and what country
you are in.
A couple of things I'd like to let the list know:
1. I want to get this done as bad as everyone else wants to, but I'm not
interested in sacrificing quality for speed. Yes, there is a balance, and
I will NOT drag this out. However, if there are any more entries floating
around (several of you have said you are still working on things) please
hurry up. I'd like to have everythign submitted by April 1st.
2. Before the onslaught of "hey, what's this Thanks II thing?" and "when
is the disc coming out?" (READ ABOVE!!!) and "is this still going to
happen?" questions, PLEASE REVIEW THE LIST ARCHIVES!!! I don't mean to
sound like an ass, but SO MANY friggin people dump their questions at me
and/or the list every week or so. WE ARE WORKING ON IT. :)
3. Please include ALL of your e-mail addresses when you ship it. I get
confused by the multiple names and e-mail addresses - some of you don't
use your name in the address, so I have to match things up. Thanks!
4. Why do people keep thinking this isn't going to happen? Have I been
giving off bad vibes? Do I smell bad? Look funny? Sound funny? What
gives??!?!? We are still working on this, and it *WILL* be good!
So, I'd like to hear from everyone that hasn't submitted their piece yet,
I'd like the list's feedback, and I'll be posting summations of the above,
soon.
And on another note, I'd like to apologize for the long delay(s) - I was
traveling most of February, and fell behind on quite a few things

- -Greg
